Vtg Antique Beautiful Silver Overlay Perfume Bottle 1906 Art Nouveau w/ stopper
Estate sale find. In good vintage condition.Measures about 4 1/2" tall. I was told this was Sterling Silver. I can not find any markings. There is a 98 etched on the bottom of the stopper. I see a tiny flea bite on the stopper base when held in light. I did not feel it. There is 1906 and flowers in the design. It looks like maybe a monogram? Silver is slightly tarnished could stand to be cleaned. I will leave this to the new owner. I purchased the matching perfume also let me know if interested I can list that one also. We're assuming they are rare. The Alvin Manufacturing Company was founded in 1886 by William H. Jamo uneau in Irvington. New Jersey. The company moved to Sag Harbor. Long Island in 1895 and later changed its name to the Alvin Silver Co. in 1919. The Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company was known for making fine sterling silver. The Gorham company of Providence. Rhode Island acquired the Alvin Company’s dies and patterns in 1928. The largest measures 4" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter with original stopper. There are two nude ladies holding incense burners on the sides of this bottle and stylized flowers on the other sides. Very striking Art Nouveau design all around. This pretty antique“Art Nouveau” perfume bottle has a lovely floral decoration that was embossed in copper and then fitted to the glass bottle. The copper was originally silver plated. Which can be detected by looking at the color of the metalwork through the bottom of the bottle. This bottle is short, only 2 ½inches tall, and squarish in shape, about 3 ¼ inches wide, but the way the copper work was applied, to create a four-petaled flower shape, adds an organic feel to it. The bottle stopper has a more geometric, than floral, design, with a bold“X” that splits the square top into four triangles. Reproductions of a bottle like this one have been made, but this perfume bottle is an antique. It is in very good antique condition with only a tiny chip off of the edge of the part of the stopper that fits into the bottle's neck. Antique Art Nouveau Silver Laced Perfume Bottle w/Stopper
You are bidding on an early 1900's Art Nouveau perfume bottle with silver lace and original stopper. Looks identical to a Gorham or Matthew Company perfume bottle however I couldn't find any identifying marks except for the#308 stamped in the overlay. The#246 is etched on the bottom of both the bottle and the stopper identifying them as original pairs. There is no monogram etched in the plate so you can have it etched if you choose. There is a small chip on one side of the bottom of the stopper. Please see the pictures for verification. The measurements on the bottle are: 2-3/8" tall, 2-1/8" wide. The measurements of the stopper are: 1-7/8" tall, 7/8" wide. Together the bottle and the stopper are 3-9/16" tall. The bottle measures 6" tall(with cap) and is in excellent condition with no"flea bites" at the rim. Or indications of use, it is clean. The cap with frosted glass stopper weighs 74.1 grams. The silver top fits securely, but not too snug, the stopper has some chips, the rim of the cap is wavy, it has some minor dings and scratches, mostly surface scratches commensurate with infrequent cleaning. Overall, this piece is really pretty and well crafted, which is evident in the high grade materials, cut glass and 950 silver. You are bidding on a beautiful early 1900's Antique Art Nouveau Dark Cranberry Perfume Bottle with intricate silver lace decoration surrounding the entire bottle and a silver heart stopper. There is a silver cartouche with a fancy capital letter"D" engraved in the center of it. The word"STERLING" is stamped on the opposite side of the cartouche on one of the lower silver laces. Hard to see with the naked eye but it is visible. The bottle is in excellent condition except for some internal hairlines on one side of the inter neck of the bottle which we believe happened from the heat of the silver when it was being applied, there are no other defects. We do not believe the silver heart stopper is an original stopper to the bottle because most the bottles and stoppers we've seen on Ebay look like each other, at least ... morein this style, but it is a very nice stopper and it inserts into the bottle very well. The measurements of the bottle are: 2-9/16" tall, 2-1/16" wide. The measurements of the stopper are: 2" tall, 3/8" wide. With the stopper inserted in the bottle they are: 3-15/16" tall. Up for sale is a 5 5/8" long glass and sterling silver scent bottle. It is in excellent condition. I am having trouble removing the stopper. So I just left it as-is. I do not think that the stopper is silver. There is a little minor ding on the silver.please see all pictures. I included a picture of each side of the bottle. Up for auction I have a really beautiful Art Nouveau period sterling silver overlay perfume bottle with stopper. This unmarked perfume is from the 1900s. It has a wonderful overlay of scrolls with a leaf like design in center. It is finished with hand chasing. The neck is also sterling silver. The stopper is hand cut crystal and free of damage. The bottle is in wonderful vintage condition just needs a cleaning. It me asures approximately 3 1/2" tall with stopper in place. Up for bids is an antique Art Nouveau style perfume bottle. It is made of glass with sterling silver overlay. I believe it is called squat shaped. The overlay is done in a very beautiful floral/leaf pattern. Overall the bottle is in good to great condition. As far as I could tell there is no loss of sterling. Repairs, or cracks/chips/breaks to the glass. The only mark I could find on it is Sterling. There is some minor residue inside from whatever was in it years ago. Also the sterling has a couple minor dings on the rim. It has a place for a monogram that is clear and ready for your personalization. It comes with its original matching stopper. The hand blown stopper would be in great shape if it wasn't for the one chip as seen in the pics. Antique Perfume CARON ART NOUVEAU LE NARCISSE Noir Black Flower Glass Signed +NR
Wow. Please view all the photos and judge for yourself. It is like stepping back in time and picking up this perfume bottle. The off white box has done its job protecting this beautiful bottle and round black box to store the perfume bottle in. The off white box shows some stains from storage and I have not tried to clean it. I love the look and the round black box comes complete with a yellow or gold padding to protect the bottle from moving around in the box. I have looked close at the black round box and it looks like the black part is actually silky fabric that is really well attached to the box, no loose places. The top of the box has a beautiful shades of blue and gold designed paper on the top and the inside of the box says CARON PARIS and there is something else in the middle that my old eyes can not make out. The bottom of the lower ... morepart of the box has a thick light blueish that holds the bottle perfectly and after I took all the photos I notice that the bottom of the glass bottle is etched 337 E and the E in in cursive. Beautiful old crown top opaline perfume bottle. Measures approximately 11 x 4 and is in wonderful condition- slight wearing on gold trim- small numeral imprinted on base. Other than that no markings. Small chip on inside of top. Nice weighted piece with different flora on each panel.

Beautiful Antique Silver Overlay Perfume Decanter. c. 1895-1915 5 inches tall x 5 inches diameter. No engraved initials. Unmarked. Some number marking on glass stopper. Condition is very good with small chip on rim of glass stopper. Although there is not silver mark the overlay process demanded silver purity higher than the 925 sterling. All in good/excellent condition. See photos for stopper chip. Some superficial surface wear on silver. But basically clean. Inside of glass could use a good scrub. No dents or losses.
