Stunning Antique English Cut Crystal & Sterling Silver Perfume Bottle / Flask
A wonderfully tactile scent flask. With it's deeply cut crystal in a series of star cuts within a diamond shaped lozenge. The glass is a beautiful Emerald green fading to clear at the bottom of the flask. The screw-top lid is decorated with repousse work crowned with a circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize. The interior is cork filled to avoid evaporation of the precious contents. The silver is of course hallmarked for Birmingham 1899, Victorian in era. The makers initials CM are present for the silversmith, Charles May. Excellent condition, measuring 4 1/4" x 3" x 1" at widest. This highly collectible French crystal perfume bottle is in very good condition. Free of chips or cracks. For the most part, the inside of the bottle is fairly clean. It measures approx. 6" high with the ribbed stopper that has a hand ground tip. The original Art Deco metal type foil label may have been gold tone at one time. It's embossed, EAU DE TOILETE, LE No 1" RALLET, New York, Paris(see more photos below) The bottom is embossed, RALLET, along with another round stamp(hard to detect, possibly Baccarat? Perfume Bottle From my research I believe that this beautiful pyramid shaped bottle is from RCR. Royal Crystal Rock, from Italy. It is 24% lead crystal. I cannot find any markings on the bottle. And I cannot detect any perfume scent. This is in good condition however. ANTIQUE FRENCH CUT CRYSTAL PERFUME/SCENT BOTTLE IN GILDED CASKET
Here I have a gorgeous antique French perfume casket. The set includes four cut crystal bottles with faceted stoppers. The bottles rest in a gilded casket with a flower swag design. The cut bottles are are 1 3/4 inch square and just under 4 1/2 inches tall to top of faceted stopper. The casket base is aprox 4.25 inch square. For those of you who collect these caskets you must realize this is a large example. I would say this set is in very nice antique condition. One stopper is frozen in place and I would just leave it that way as you do not want to crack the neck off. I cleaned 3 of the bottles with the free stoppers and they display well with mild residue. The forth bottle with the frozen stopper has more and this can be seen in the photos. Some small edge nicks& stopper tip nicks. As you can see this is a very nice set and displays ... morevery well. It has a weight of almost 2 pounds as the bottles are solid cut crystal. I will wrap each bottle for safe shipment. Package will be shipped out via Fedex Ground with tracking. Beautiful& early Baccarat crystal perfume flacon for the house of Houbigant for the scent"Parfum d'Argeville" This was one of the earliest bottles Baccarat produced for Houbigant, the First being in 1899, the second in 1905 which was a smaller travel version( used by various Baccarat customers) of what in 1913 became the presentation bottle for Parfum d'Argeville, it was not one of their most successful lines& therefore they are hard to find.
