Vintage/Antique Perfume Bottle Art Deco Style Clear and Frosted Glass
Up for auction with no reserve is a beautiful art deco style perfume bottle. Looks to be pressed glass because there is a seam around the side. Frosted bottom. Has some defects to the glass. Most notably a chip around the neck of the base- see pics. There is also a small raised line on the surface of the glass that comes down from the neck of the base onto the side but it looks more like a defect in pressing than a crack. Some small defects in the stopper. Still a very appealing piece. Measures approximately just over 9 inches from base to top of stopper. Stopper is 2.25 inches across and 6 inches in length. Lovely Victorian Hand Painted Art Glass Cologne Decanter/ Perfume Bottle with Matching Ruffle Rim Stopper. This is a lovely cologne/ decanter/ bottle. The glass is white milk glass which has a matt satin finish on the outside. It stands 9 3/4" tall with stopper in place and bottle is 6 1/4" tall. The stopper is really great with deep scalloped ruffle that folds up and down. There is the tiniest nick on one rim edge of stopper which is shown in photo#5. More felt than seen unless looking with magnifier and a few rough spots on the bottom end. No nicks or chips to the bottle, normal imperfections found with old hand blown glass. Photos show all detail well. The bottle is decorated with lovely floral of warm earthy colors with gold gilt accent. The bottom has blue enameling that shades from light to dark. It has accent beading around ... morethe stopper top and bottle neck is decorated as well. The back is not decorated. Each piece has the same enameled number which was common for early Victorian glass to keep matching fitted parts in order. Very nice condition for a bottle more than 100 years old, c.1870-1890. I cannot find any markings this piece- However. We were told at the estate where we found many treasures of amazing antiques that this piece is Mid Century- dating from the 1950's or 60's. Several antique perfume bottles were found at the estate of this couple who traveled the world.
