This old Map and historical Book is very nice condition. I believe that this Book dates from the early 1940's or so. But I am sure you will know. Included here is 1 This is My Country Book of long ago. This attractive book looks to have been well preserved and shows only slight rubbing or agewear. I see only one tiny corner rip to the leather. As this book shines like new and shows only light wear from age. This book measures about 11"x 7" inches across, is dated from 1944, and contains all 269 numbered pages. Notice that this book amazingly still contains the colorful and excellent fold out map, which shows only some corner wrinkling. No browning and no smells. Most all pages are clean and show little to no aging only. The binding shows little wear other than some light rubbing, and is strong still. My 15 closeup photos are ... morevery true to life. Many pages contain a nice state map. No rips or writing that I can find. A unusual piece this is! Hopefully someone needs this to complete their collection. Too cool to pass up! This is a great 1953 map that was originally shipped in 2 parts from the US Department Printing Office Division of Public Records in the original mailing tube. It is in 2 parts and has the original brilliant color from not being displayed. Each part measures 65x45 inches. It was done off of the original engraving by R.F. Bartle and Company Washington DC. It is from the US Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management US and Territories and Insular Possession showing the extent of Public Surveys. It has National Parks. NAtional Forests, Indian Reservations, National Wildlife Refuges and Reclamation projects from 1953. The bottom has very lightly Geological Survey Washington DC 1954 MR6816. Up for auction we have this Vintage OHMAN'S Relief Map Of The United States. Including part of Canada and Mexico. Exquisite detail of elevations, roads, cities and towns, waterways, and borders! We are not exactly sure when this one was made, but judging from the map, frame, and the rest of the stuff from this estate, it should be in the era of 1930-40s. Overall the map with the frame is 37.25" x 24.5" x about 1" thick and weighs in at about 9.5 lbs. The map area inside the frame is approximately 35.25 x 22.5 inches. The map you get may be worn or lightly torn along the fold lines due to the acidity of the paper and being folded for years. They may also be discolored or mottling spots again due to the acidity of the paper. The borders of the maps may also have small tears. The mountainous regions around New Mexico are taken directly from Alexander Humboldt's important 1811 map" Carte General du Royaume de la Nouvelle Espagne" Which is among the earliest to delineate ... morethe Spanish southwest and Rocky Mountain region with any sense of modern accuracy. Interestingly, this map which is printed just 3 years later adds and amends many topographical details of Humboldts map east of the Rockies, including new mountainous elevations and rivers while also adding new tributaries to the Colorado river, etc. Evidence of Pikes important 1806-07 explorations in what is today Colorado is seen for instance in the unnamed mountain(Pikes Peak in Colorado) Which is here simply labelled"Highest Peak" The Great Salt Lake and the close-by Utah Lake are both mapped with incomplete borders and a fictitious river between them. Large area below these lakes"Unknown Parts" As the area depicted extends east much farther than Humboldts. It includes a large portion of Louisiana Territory, and also includes a relatively accurate mapping of the course of the Arkansas river, as well as many Indian tribes and their villages. Some of these Indian villages even give the number of inhabitants. Much else of interest. This map was printed in 1903 and issued by the government. It outlines canals. Waterways, indian reservations, conservation areas, government regulated sections of land, the states and territories. It also includes a lot of information pertaining to those regions of land, such as; for the states, when they were bought or acquired into the union etc. This is a great historical piece! The dimensions are 6 ft wide and 7 ft tall when opened. It is printed on what feels like canvass/cloth so it is extremely durable. It is rolled onto a thick wooden dowel with a design on either end. There are some light creases that are not visible in the photos. Minor edge wear. There are obvious areas of discoloration. The battleships included the Connecticut, Georgia, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska, Virginia, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio, Kearsarge, Vermont, Rhode Island, Missouri, and Kentucky. It lists the vessels of the US Navy by Name, keel laid, displacement tons, speed in knots, horsepower and cost. The cost of the Alabama in 1896 was 2.65 million dollars. It also shows a group of the Battleship Captains with a Aug 1908 copyright. Johnston with additions and corrections by G.H. Johnston Size/ Format Sheet: 47.4 cm X 37.1 cm/ Map: 42.4 cm X 31.4 cm. These maps were all'tipped in' to the atlas. They are all printed on one side only on heavy paper. Almost card. There is a single fold in the centre of each map. Condition The condition of these maps is very good/ excellent. The colors are bright and fresh. The maps themselves are very clean. And the margins are generally clean, with the occasional thumb mark. These ... moremaps are more given than some to separating at the fold and a few of them have professional repairs to the back of the map. Reinforcing the tops and bottoms of the fold. Remarks These maps are surprisingly bright and vibrant-looking. I have not enhanced the scans in any way. Other than to reduce their size for display here. The maps look very nice in a simple frame. Rare 60's Rand McNally Celestial Globe: Dr. Oliver Lee's globes were made in the early 1960s. Slightly faded on one side. Chicago: Early 1960s 15.5 inches high; 8.25 inch diameter base In great condition. No marring, pitting or oxidation on chrome. All markings on the chrome are clear and crisp. Globe itself is in lovely condition aside from the slight color fading on one side: no tears, dents or damage.

ANTIQUE/VINTAGE 1945 USA PULL DOWN MAP 51X55" RARE COLORFUL EXQUISITE HISTORIC
This big pull down map was made in 1945 by Cram Maps. Overall dimensions are 55" high x 51" wide. Size of actual map is 41" high x 49" wide. This map has exceptionally vivid colors and will show well on a home. Office or business wall. It is on canvas and has a wear proof finish and is in very good overall condition. There is wear to the edges as shown and there is a vertical tear that extends from the top left edge downward into the state of Washington as shown. Tear has been crudely repaired but could easily be restored. This is an historic map as it was produced at the very tail end of the World War II. It has extensive notations as to US possessions and such. The wooden, spring loaded roll still functions. There is a brass ID tag at the bottom. This map is virtually impossible to find and is a fine investment and beautiful ... moremap that would enhance just about any room or business.
