1929 RAND MCNALLY OFFICIAL AUTO ROAD MAP MICHIGAN
Wow. This map has it all. Besides the fold out map it has 56 pages of detailed city maps. Every city is listed with population and points of interest. It also lists the official register of hotels garages and service stations. Population of Detroit was 1.378,000 and a nightly stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island for $8.00.It also lists state parks, fish and game laws, Milagros tables. The speed limits were business 15, residence 20, and elsewhere, careful and prudent. It also has ads including the back page for Coke. It has some spotting and a small tear on the back cover and some pencil handwriting on a page. The fold out map is in good shape and has no rips and has a few spots on the edges. Perfect glovebox item for a restored 1929 Ford, Chevrolet, Buick, etc. automobile.

Official Paved Road and Commercial Survey of the United States. Edition 1262. Copyright, by National Map Company Indianapolis, Indiana. I cannot find a date for publication or for the copyright. However, my research leads me to believe that it is from the late 1920s. I did find some map coupons in the back that is good up to Jan 1, 1933. The cover is soft leather, and it will measure 11 3/4 inches by 15 inches. It will contain 116 pages. The survey will have some edge fraying and dog ears on the corners from use. The spine is still glued together. The inside pages are clean with some of the pages in color.

You are bidding on an original 1924 Poates' Highway and Regional Guide of the United States. L.L. Poates Publishing Co. Inc. 4 Washington Place New York. 170 pages. This roll-up map has the most up to date and convenient road maps of all the States from 1924. The leather covers are in good condition with age and use wear, missing its front snap. The first few pages have heavier wear and tears. The last 4 or 5 index pages have top& bottom page water stains( see pic. 12) The balance of the pages( including the maps) are in very good clean solid condition, with some roll-up wear. Each page measures 13' long x 10' wide. A GREAT PIECE OF AMERICAN MAP MEMORABILIA I ship via USPS to the Continental USA for a flat rate of $5.00. Two sides printed on a thin sheet of paper with blue with red state boundaries and names. One side shows the eastern half and the other the western half of the United States. It appears it was never used or very little use. There is a corner crease from where the corner was mistakenly folded over and then place in the atlas for probably many years. There are two small tears(no paper missing) at 2 folded corner areas(see photo) and a few tears at the outer edge folded areas. This very informative map shows three types of roads: paved. Improved, and unimproved. The latter is designated as"Good ... morein dry seasons. State and Federal highways are properly marked with appropriate symbols and mileage is given between double circles.
