Excellent for display or historical reference! The George F. Cram Company is still one of the nation's leading publishers and manufacturers of maps. Atlases and globes. The Company was started in 1867, and began making globes for homes and schools in the early 1930s. These were made for both the home and school markets and came in a range of sizes from 8" to 16" in diameter. The product line included"Cram's Universal Terrestrial Globes" featuring a choice of sizes and styles of mountings. This globe is one of that popular line. At age 79 in 1921. Cram sold his company to one of his largest customers, E.A. Peterson. Peterson merged it with his own business, the National Map Company, and moved the business to Indianapolis, Indiana. Peterson changed the firm's name to The George F. Cram Company in 1928, the year in which Cram died. Photos serve as description- sold AS IS. Here's a large pull down map of the the World by George F Cram company in good condition. The actual map printed area is roughly 64" wide by 48" tall. Can't find a date on this anywhere but it does include the USSR. Comes attached to metal bracket. Thanks for looking!

This gorgeous antique map has all the earmarks of a well-lived life(see pictures) Despite its fragile lower edge brought about by years of being pulled up and down. The map itself is in good condition with just a few exceptions. The faded colors and subtle creases lend to its aged beauty. I have taken the maximum number of pictures in order to disclose all of the patina(or flaws if you will) in order to give you an accurate picture of what you are purchasing. Antique Pull Down School Map of Africa, George F Cram Co, Excello series, OLD
This is an old pull down school map on linen. It is a map of the Africa. Dimensions are 43.5" wide x 56" long. There is no date to be found. Just that it is the Excello Series, and The George F Cram Company, Inc; Indianapolis 7, Indiana. It has French West Africa which ended in 1960. The condition of this map is not great as it has staining from previous moisture damage. There is staining present on the back side of the linen some is mildew stained. The front of the map has some age stains also. I personally think it has a lot of character and think it has great decorating potential. It rolls up and down well. It has been stored indoors in a dry environment for 30+ years so any stains that came from moisture happened well before that. This map is old and I wish I could get info on the exact date.
