This is a map produced by Rand McNally. I cannot find a copyright date on this map. But I would guess 10+ years old. This map comes mounted on a spring roller. With a wood dowel at the end. This map is an elementary-age map, designed for students up to fifth grade. There are three layers to this map. The top layer is a political map of the world. The map number is#12127. The second layer is a political map of the United States. The map number is#12118. The third layer is a political map of Alaska and Hawaii. The map number is#1218. The map is listed as"markable. which means it can be marked with a dry erase marker and then wiped off. This map does show wear from general classroom use. However. Vintage 1958 United States Rand McNally Allstate Vacationland Map Excellent!!
Rand McNally Vacationland Map of the United States. Lithographed in USA. Copyright by RAND McNally and Company. The map has never been pinned. Hung up or used. Has been in the same envelope recieved in for 54 years. Measurements are 52" x 32" That map has some oxidation due to the age on the back of the 3 squares of the back of the map. Turning it over and looking at the front side, the oxidation shows on the very edge. No pinholes or holes bottom edge has slight tear as pictured. Wow. This map has it all. Besides the fold out map it has 56 pages of detailed city maps. Every city is listed with population and points of interest. It also lists the official register of hotels garages and service stations. Population of Detroit was 1.378,000 and a nightly stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island for $8.00.It also lists state parks, fish and game laws, Milagros tables. The speed limits were business 15, residence 20, and elsewhere, careful and prudent. It also has ads including the back page for Coke. It has some spotting and a small tear on the back cover and some pencil handwriting on a page. The fold out map is in good shape and has no rips and has a few spots on the edges. Perfect glovebox item for a restored 1929 Ford, Chevrolet, Buick, etc. automobile.

I know it's been out of the box at least once as at the bottom of the map you can see where I wrote my name in crayon: It looks like this map is from the late 1950's as it's damn near impossible to find an Interstate Highway. But the Turnpike(the toll road) in Northern Indiana has started. This is a vintage full-page map from a book. Date is listed in the item's title. This map has been removed from a vintage book and EACH PAGE measures about 7" x 10" So keep this in mind if the titles states that this is a 2-page map. We purchased these maps already removed from the book and all I know is the date. But not what book they came from. sorry! Map may not be perfectly clipped and may include some rougher edges and/or small tears. If the the title states that this is a 2-page map. The dividing line between the pages will need to be trimmed prior to mounting/framing. PLEASE SEE ENLARGED SCAN/PHOTO TO SEE DETAIL. THIS WOULD LOOK GREAT PROPERLY MATTED AND FRAMED! Each map is in a plastic sleeve with a backing sheet and will be mailed in a rigid envelope to ensure safety. We've never had a problem with something arriving ... moresafely using this system.
