The plastic overlay that contains the borders and names of the countries is in good condition. It is attached to a wooden roller. It measures 51" x 75". I have the metal bracket it was on if wanted. THREE LAYER pull down school map by Nystrom, TEXAS, WORLD, & U.S. 65 x 72 inches
This is a map produced by Nystrom. The map does not have a copyright date. But I estimate it is probably about 10 to 15 years old. This map measures 65 inches high by 72 inches wide. It comes mounted on a spring roller. With a wood dowel at the end. There are three layers to the map. They include: 1. Texas(Map#1PS42) 2. World(Map#1SR991) 3. United States(Map#1SR1) This map shows some minor wear from general classroom use. There is a very small tear on the World map on the left-hand side at the very bottom of the map. This map retails for approximately $455. This map would make a great addition for a traditional classroom. Homeschool, or just a design for your home. Old colorful vintage 1941 school map. Large size of the world physical-political, edited by V.C. Finch, Professor of Geography, University of Wisconsin, Equatorial Scale, 1:25,344,000 of 400 miles to the inch. Van der Grinten Projection. Published by A.J. Nystrom& Co. Chicago. This map was cut and mounted on oil cloth so it could fold and was portable and it has metal brass grommets on the top so it could be hung as was typical of the time for classrooms. Neat old one. Has some brown paint splotch on the back. But at least it doesn’t show on the front. Neat big one for your wall. Colorful. Definitely used condition. Not pristine, but has a lot of character. Has dark spots on back. Possibly mildew, not sure, but will leave this to next owner. Still usable display condition. Was used in Texas classroom. Cram USA School Map Vintage Huge Colorful Pull Down Roller Map United States
Roll down school map like the teacher rolled down in front of the chalkboard. Huge 64 inches wide by 50 inches deep. That's just the map information area. 48 States plus Hawaii and Alaska too. Both poles are well attached, a little bit of the laminate is coming off one side on the bottom. Has a few stains, shows wear and use in some places, no real tears I don't think. Bright colors. Vintage Pulldown School Map wall USA 1968 Detailed Retro pull down colors NR
I just acquired this map of the US and its a really good find. Its big about 7' wide and 5 1/2' long. Lots of color detailed showing the Legends for Land sea and population(see Pictures) The map is in good to very good condition and will transform any room you hang it. Please keep in mind its almost a half century old and is not new. One customer asked me if a map had been in a smoke free home! Its a School Map how the heck do I know. All I could say is its been in dry storage for 30 years. Some of the maps have been repaired over the years and may have tape. How to Repair Old School maps The round dowel is cut in half by the manufacturer and the new map is simply glued or stapled to one halve and then screwed to the other. Its basically sandwiched between the two halves. They made them this way so the schools could do there on repairs. ... moreThey printed the maps on canvas with several inches below and above the map.This was done so the school could do the repair work. Most schools could not afford to buy another one or send it to the manufacturer for a tear to be fixed when it would tear they unscrewed it. Cut the section that had the tear and put it back together. Please keep this in mind the older maps that have been rolled up and stored. They need to hang for several days lay flat. Should your map not straighten out simply remove the screws reset the map.Trim it if necessary and screw it back At some point you may tear it and need to repair it. Now you know how.

Antique Pull Down School Map of Africa, George F Cram Co, Excello series, OLD
This is an old pull down school map on linen. It is a map of the Africa. Dimensions are 43.5" wide x 56" long. There is no date to be found. Just that it is the Excello Series, and The George F Cram Company, Inc; Indianapolis 7, Indiana. It has French West Africa which ended in 1960. The condition of this map is not great as it has staining from previous moisture damage. There is staining present on the back side of the linen some is mildew stained. The front of the map has some age stains also. I personally think it has a lot of character and think it has great decorating potential. It rolls up and down well. It has been stored indoors in a dry environment for 30+ years so any stains that came from moisture happened well before that. This map is old and I wish I could get info on the exact date. This great vintage map by A. J. Nystrom has beautiful colors- you can see the layered spot colors in the print. It's a U.S.A. map. 1950 edition, No. WF1, edited by V. C. Finch, Professor of Geography, University of Wisconsin. Notice the absence of both Alaska and Hawaii, which became states in 1959. The map itself is 59 1/2" tall by 63 1/2" wide. The wood bar at the bottom is 67 5/8" and the top is about 68" across. The map is made to mount on a map rack, which we have in stock at the moment(though it may have sold by now, please check our other items) but it also has two 1/4" holes 67 1/2" apart that could be used to mount the map to a wall. This is a used Nystrom United States Map. It is a Wall Mount School Type Pull Down Roll-up Map. This is a 1997 Edition of Model 1NP1 by Nystrom. The frame measures 68 inches in length. The map measures 65” x 70” The map is in good condition. It rolls down and locks in different positions. The surface is markable with water soluble markers. The lower right corner of the map has some wrinkles. There are no tear in the map. The outer protective green wrap has some scuffs and small tears. This World Map was made by Modern Educational Systems. Model no. 30-21. It was made in 1988, just before the Berlin Wall came down, and you can see that East and West Germany are still divided on the map of Europe. The pull bar is 65" and some tape repairs have been made along the back of it. The map itself is 61 1/4" L x 46 1/2" T. The map is made to mount on a map rack but it can be hung on a wall using two 3/4" holes spaced 36" apart in the metal support. Someone had made tape repairs to the back of the map with a strong tape of some sort- it's silver tape, but looks different than duct tape. The repairs seems secure. This is: a vintage wall map. The kind ubiquitous during the 60s and 70s in almost every school. It fastens to the wall, pulls down like a window blind, stops and stays during the lesson, and another pull releases it to go back up into the case. I took pix of this outside mostly as the color is more true(and I am tired of being inside) and it is pretty large. Has metal pull bar at the bottom and pull ring. Made of some sort of heavy flexible paper mostly, some sort of vinyl material at bottom, base and top of heavy metal. Last pix shows the maker, Rand McNally, copyright 1966, other number, 14-5010 1R69, may indicate was made in 1969. Not sure. This is of North America, of course includes USA, but also Canada, bit of Soviet Union and all of Greenland at top, and Central America, the top of South America at the bottom, edge of Europe to the ... moreright. Condition and size: Good condition overall. Maybe has some fading of color, and a little bend in metal of bottom pull. Edges of map are surprisingly good. Measures about 50" across, metal bar at base and case/ mounting structure at top about 1 1/2" more per side, or 3" overall making total width 53" Map is about 5' tall, plus about 5" of green material at bottom and 1" for the metal bar at the bottom, for a total of 5 1/2" foot plus a bit for hanger bit. Vintage Pulldown School Map wall America Retro pull down colors NR
This is one of 2 listed but this one has no dowels Its big about 7' wide and 5 1/2' long. Lots of color detailed showing the Legends for Land sea and population(see Pictures) The map is in good to very good condition and will transform any room you hang it. Please keep in mind its almost a half century old and is not new. One customer asked me if a map had been in a smoke free home! Its a School Map how the heck do I know. All I could say is its been in dry storage for 30 years. Some of the maps have been repaired over the years and may have tape. How to Repair Old School maps The round dowel is cut in half by the manufacturer and the new map is simply glued or stapled to one halve and then screwed to the other. Its basically sandwiched between the two halves. They made them this way so the schools could do there on repairs. They ... moreprinted the maps on canvas with several inches below and above the map.This was done so the school could do the repair work. Most schools could not afford to buy another one or send it to the manufacturer for a tear to be fixed when it would tear they unscrewed it. Cut the section that had the tear and put it back together. Please keep this in mind the older maps that have been rolled up and stored. They need to hang for several days lay flat. Should your map not straighten out simply remove the screws reset the map.Trim it if necessary and screw it back At some point you may tear it and need to repair it. Now you know how.

Rare vintage Denoyer-Geppert Pull Down School Map all canvas from the 1952 with original mounts and brackets. Pulley does work and holds. Titled"A Pictorial Map Depicting the Literary Development of the United States. this map charts of the hometowns of various authors(such as William Faulkner and Margaret Mitchell) and the settings of classic tales, like Monterey, California, from John Steinbeck's Tortilla Flat. The map measures 39” high and 63” wide with a 7 inch apron at the bottom. The original mount is 69 ½ Inches. RARE Dated 1928 Denoyer-Geppert School Classroom Map CIVIL WAR A16 A17 Oak& Linen. Made by Denoyer-Geppert Co. of Chicago. Compiled and Drawn by R Baxter Blair. It is actually 2 maps in 1 roll down linen backed roll- Numbers A16& A17. Hart American Historical Series with A16 showing Civil War locations and A17 depicting 4 parts Abolition, Reconstruction, Cotton Production and Per Capita Wealth. The map section measures 43-1/2" wide and 63" long; the actual full piece would be slightly larger when fully opened. This is a genuine 1928 school map- NOT a reproduction or later issue. The linen shows slight edge wear but no tears or holes, the colors are fine and vivid. The only issue is the map ends has half pulled off the oak rollers at both ends but just needs to be re-stapled in place, quite minor. The Denoyer-Geppert Company ... morewas founded in 1916 by L. Philip Denoyer and Otto E. Geppert. Denoyer was born in Milwaukee. Wisconsin, and spent much of his early life as a teacher, principal, and professor of geography. Geppert was a salesman who had been working for W& AK Johnston, mapmakers out of Chicago. In 1913. Geppert found Denoyer teaching in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and convinced him to leave and become an adviser for A. J. Nystrom& Co. in Chicago. Both working for Chicago mapmakers in 1916, Denoyer and Geppert decided to form their own mapmaking business under their own names, with Denoyer as President and Geppert as Sales Manager and Secretary/Treasurer. In its early years. The firm promoted itself as a manufacture and supplier of"visual demonstration equipment for geography, history and the biological sciences, including globes and maps.
