This pair of high relief carved oak pear shaped finials have a beautifully carved flower and ivy leaf pattern. The original finish appears to be worn off. Due to the nature of wood there are some cracks to which there looks to have been some repairs done. There also may be some areas where by small carved pieces of wood are missing. Here's a set of very heavy cast iron finials that were made for those old Victorian fences back in the 1800s. They still have the remnants of the chippy paint on them. Each weighs almost 1 1/2 lbs. Could be used for any number of things. as sculptures. Paper weights, decorative shelf items. They are very cool. These are 3 old metal trophy topper final things. The cow is 4" long and is marked 1950 or 56 along with Dodge Inc CHGO Newark LA with 153. The Spaniel dog is about 3 3/4" long and is marked 1956 Dodge Inc CHGO Newark LA with 151. The Collie dog is marked Tropar 2X on the bottom and is about 3 3/4" long. All 3 have a bolt on the bottom so they would screw onto whatever trophy base it goes with. Overall. These are really neat thingamajiggies. Check out my other auction's! Wood carving goose farm fence post banister finial folk art mother primitive
This is a wood carving of a mother goose that I'm told is one of a unique pair of old fence post finials. It's owners have repainted it at least a couple of times. But it still has a primitive/farm feel. It's spent most of it's life outside so it's nicely weathered. It's a very cool carving.

Some pit ting and a small dent at the mid-top of the finial please see photo. Pitting in the ball at top that is noticeable. No large dents. Typical imperfect condition from the 1920's.
