I listed this decorative component as a finial but I honestly don't know what its original purpose was. It is hand"whittled" and assembled with nails and glue in a tramp art fashion. I especially like the rubbed finish which highlights the detailing. It is about the most unique item I have ever offered. There are some minor chips and cracks but the overall condition is quite suitable for a decorative object. Wood is smooth from sanding and worn smooth too. Someone filled cracks with wood putty. And sanded. It looks like the next step was probably stain and varnish for it to be perfect. Lots of slices of wood made this knob. Maybe it had a topper to it, but I like it this way. My father in law kept it on his book case with a little brass statue he had. Like a pedestal for his little statue.

Unknown Monkey Head Finial Statue Halloween Decor Strange Weird Odd Unusual Etc
This listing is for a Monkey Head. This is a very unusual and very unknown piece. The monkey is made out of cement with a screw post to be mounted as part of a statue or outdoor fence decoration. The monkey head could easily be used as a spooky Halloween décor. Fixed onto a staff or a number of other unusual purposes. The monkey head does look to be poured by a cast as there is a seam on his head but there look like some carving marks on his neck. His left ear does have a flat top.
