This is in the shape of what looks to be an acorn. At first glance I thought it was a pineapple shape, but the bottom looks as if it is the cap on an acorn. It stands approximately 8" tall and the opening on the bottom is approximately 2- 3/8" by 3- 1/8" This is a heavy old piece and most likely should be shipped via USPS Priority Mail in a flat rate box. This looks as if it was painted gray at one time. This has been in my collection for many years but now it is time to downsize. Here is a vintage wrought iron FINIAL made in New Orleans. I don't know its exact age. It has some white shabby paint to give it a Shabby Chic look. Its shape makes think of a Fleur de Lys. But also of a Pine Cone. The hole underneath is square. It is in great condition. I just see a little rust underneath, but nothing terrible. It is a heavy and wonderful piece. RARE SET OF 4 ANTIQUE CAST WROUGHT IRON FINIAL FENCE AWNING SPIKES SPEARS SET OF 4 RARE. EACH FINIAL IS 8 3/4" TALL AND IS IN TWO PARTS- THE BASE AND THE SPIKE. THE TOP SPIKE/ SPEAR IS 6 3/4" LONG X 2" X 2" WIDE AT THE BASE. EACH SPIKE IS THREADED FOR A 3/8" IN DIAMETER SCREW. THE BASE PART OF THE FINIAL IS 3 1/4" WIDE AT THE BOTTOM X 2" TALL. THESE FOUR FINIALS ARE VERY OLD AND HEAVY. WEIGHT IS ABOUT 18.5 LBS. ALL HAVE OLD GREEN PAINT AND HAVE BEEN IN STORAGE FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE NOT BEEN TOUCHED OR CLEANED.
