This is an old antique cast iron candlestick finial with a griffin head form in the center of the finial part. It is 6 1/2" tall.or 7" including the screw bottom. The candle holder unscrews from the top of the finial and there is a slight gap between the two pieces so maybe there had been something in between? I have no idea what this came off of.this is just how I found it. Each measures about 4" tall without the screw, each one has wings spread, head turned right, three are perched on a ball, on with a screw, one is missing legs and ball. After taking some pictures, it looks like two were soldered at the legs near the body possibly to reattach or make sure they were secured correctly. I am not sure if these were architectural pieces or for flag toppers. Very nice details in all of them, probably 19th century. Some tarnishing slightly. Wing span is 3" I will combine shipping! Victorian Roof Ornaments - Formed Metal Finials - Don't bid unless you read
I bought these from a fella who said that he personally removed them from a Victorian house that was about to be demolished. He had them for many years and decided to part with them. I used a few in my decorating. And I am selling the rest today. BE AWARE! There is most certainly a high lead content in these pieces. They were at one time soldered to the roof of a home. And the solder that is still on the back is probably lead. In fact, I would assume that the entire piece is made of lead. It was a common roofing material in the 19th century. In my humble opinion, you can seal these with poly to contain the lead and they are relatively harmless to adults. BUT DO NOT let small children handle them or keep them in the living space of children. Also, do not use them as decorations in a garden with edibles. I have not tested these for lead content. ... moreBut there is my lead lecture of the day. These are amazing archetectural elements. They are just shy of 12 inches tall and 6 3/4 inches wide at the base. They are a sheet of metal that has been formed into the convex shape that you see. This is a unique and fantastic looking item. Antique cast iron Sun Ray finial stove top. This measures 14 1/2 x 16 1/2 x 8 inches. It is in very good condition considering its age. It has obvious rust as seen in the photo which gives it great patina! I do not see any types of cracks or major damage to the cast iron. This displays exquisitely and would make a great decorative or architectural piece. The words Sun Ray are very visible on the top of the piece. Antique solid Brass American Eagle Flag Pole Topper Finial Sculpture Statue 1890
Antique solid cast brass Eagle with two tiered dome caps with ornate cast brass curtain sash all around. The Eagle would have been used as a flag pole or lamp pole topper finial. To me it looks like it may have come off one of those old river boat paddle boats because of the ornate curtain like sash around the domes. The Eagle is cast in the old style. It is a two piece cast. The body and wings are soldered together. It is all brass and the bottom dome is painted black. The opening where the pole would go in is 2" inches across. It is in great shape with great details.

Wood is smooth from sanding and worn smooth too. Someone filled cracks with wood putty. And sanded. It looks like the next step was probably stain and varnish for it to be perfect. Lots of slices of wood made this knob. Maybe it had a topper to it, but I like it this way. My father in law kept it on his book case with a little brass statue he had. Like a pedestal for his little statue.

Vintage Lot 4 Walnut Turned Finials Furniture End Caps Salvage Architectural Parts We’re offering this Lot of 4 Vintage Walnut Turned Finial Furniture End Caps. Circa 1930-40s. They are solid walnut& measure 8 ¾”L. Have decorative turned design with 2 ¼” base& 1 ¼” collar. The 2 ½” body elongates up to a ¾” diameter spire with 1 ¼” knob cap. Each has a 1”L x ½” diameter dowel post for insert to furniture. These ornate finials were originally on top of a rather impressive old barrister cabinet and flanked across the top between 2 crowns. Unfortunately the cabinet was lost in a hurricane decades ago but the finials were salvaged& in very nice condition for age. They have a natural finish& show little wear with exception to some aged varnish craze on surface& hopefully you can see in the ... more1 photo shows oxidation on back side where sat against wall for many years. They have been wiped down& rubbed with some lemon oil to refresh the wood grain. We note no warp in the 4& great replacement parts to restore a china cabinet; on top of bed frame head/baseboard as short posts, or even to sit on table mixed in with other finial collection& smalls for your room décor. They can be painted any color& distressed for that shabby cottage look. We recommend using some type of prop if sitting upright on table surface as they are top heavy& dowel is short narrow. While these look to be factory made. A close inspections shows each one varies slightly in shape, length diameter from the other so are all hand turned finials by an expert woodworker. While here.
