This great little carved ornament has a wonderful feminine appeal. Decor for a little girl's room comes to mind. In the late 1800's a famous Swedish singer name Jenny Lind toured America and received rave reviews. Furniture manufacturer's from that time often used carved ornaments representing the famous singer. This carving is very similar to that type of ornamentation. It is a rather pretty piece with a ball top to a bulbous center with carved leaf design coming off the bottom to the midsection, it has a peg dowel at the base, it has a flat section on the back at the center and at the base, I think the wood is walnut but cannot be certain.
