This sale is for the pictured lot of antique salvaged chain link fence hardware. All of the pieces have a heavy galvanize plating and they have been painted several times. There are 22 tops with holes through them and balls on the top. The hole opening is about 1.5 inches wide and the shanks are 1.5 inches OD and 3 inches long. Up for consideration are these 3 cast iron fence post tops. They are about 8 1/2" tall and fit a 2 x 2 1/4 post. The hole in the top is for an 1 3/4" top rail. Casting are marked 26 H.These are in good vintage condition with wear typical to age. There are no bends or breaks to the castings. They are heavy. This is in the shape of what looks to be an acorn. At first glance I thought it was a pineapple shape, but the bottom looks as if it is the cap on an acorn. It stands approximately 8" tall and the opening on the bottom is approximately 2- 3/8" by 3- 1/8" This is a heavy old piece and most likely should be shipped via USPS Priority Mail in a flat rate box. This looks as if it was painted gray at one time. This has been in my collection for many years but now it is time to downsize. I am uncertain about their original use. Certainly topped off something. Has a lovely design which mimics a tree or waterfall. There is old green paint on both of them, there is a small post on the bottom of each which are kind of rough but solid and each post has a small indentation on each side which may have been to secure them in their place when they are pushed into a base, there is slight rust on each, they measure 5" tall with the post, 7" long and range from 1/2" to 3/4" deep.
