Vintage old brass wreath finial with a wood screw, pediment, embellishment
Offered for auction is this well constructed old brass finial or decorative piece. It is a brass wreath of leaves secured by a ribbon design with shiny brass highlights against a dulled brass. At the base is a wood screw to screw this into a piece of wood. I am not sure what this was originally from as it was an estate piece with no explanation. The back is flat. The wood screw could be replaced with a machined metal screw if you wanted to use this as a lamp finial. The inner diameter is 2 7/8” The outer diameter is 4 1/2. The total height with the screw is 5 1/2. Important Information I am in the process of selling objects which I have collected over many years of attending estate auctions. Large Vintage Brass Eagle Flag Pole Flagpole Topper or Finial with Long Tassels
Up for bids is a large vintage cast brass eagle flagpole topper or finial with attached long gold braided tassels as pictured. The eagle would have sat on top of a flagpole in a county courthouse. VFW, American Legion Post or some other type of fraternal club or organization. It looks like an older piece from the 1950's or 1960's with lots of detail. It stands 8 1/2" high from the opening for the pole to the top of the wings and measures 9 3/8" wide across the tips of the wings. It weighs 2 1/4 pounds with attached tassels that measure 48" long. The inside opening for the flagpole is 7/8" wide. Everything looks to be in good condition with no cracks or breaks but there is some light wear to the finish on the eagle and to the tassels as seen in the pictures.

A nd take note of the additional information on the right side of the listin g. This finial measures about 11" tall. The rectantgular base measures 9 1/2" x 7 3/4" It weighs about 4 lb 13 oz. I am not sure where this piece came from. I obtained it as-is. It has some condition issues(beyond the heavy ruse on the base) The metal on the sphere part of the finial has torn at the top and bottom(the bottom tear is pointed out in a photo below) The two halves of the globe don't sit quite right. And can be shifted easily out of position. The central screw needs to be loosened and the parts reseated to get a get a good fit. Up for auction is an antique vintage folk art carved wood peafowl. Peacock or bird finial recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia, PA area. It is found in good used condition. The nail in the base probably held the piece in place. A black wood base was later added. A very nice display piece. There is a hole near the end of the feathers, as seen in photo#11. Another loss of wood is noted near the right talon. Please see photo#10. There are a few non-active worm holes as well. Some losses to the gold leaf are also noted. Lot of 4 antique curtain rod brackets and 4 matching finials- 2 left and 2 right. One left finial is missing the full swirl at the end but is still suitable for use. These have a greenish finish/ patina with red painted detail. I believe these to be quite old. I have not cleaned the finish in any way- will leave that to new owner. The brackets each extend 4 inches on one end and 3 inches on the other. They all have a smaller piece w/original screw that can be adjusted. The finials are 6 inches long with approx. a 2/12 inch piece for inserting into the curtain rod. That is not included in the finial length. The broken swirl finial measures about 5 inches long so is missing about an inch of the design. No screws or mounting hardware. Superb 19thc gothic mahogany wood carved finial of domed design. Excellent attention to detail on this finial with all carving in relief. Mounted onto a square base the finial has a domed gothic shape with leaves carved in relief and with decorative beading running the length of some of the lower large leaves. Measures some 8.5" height. The base is some 4.25" square. Condition is excellent and age commensurate with a small area of damage to the wood where the circular base meets the square base and another minor bit of damage to a leaf where the wood is shaved away. Up for auction are a pair of antique zinc architectural finials or remnants recently found in the Richmond. VA area. It is offered in as found used condition. One is whole, while the other is broken into two pieces. The whole one does have some breaks in it as well. There are remnants of original gray paint, although much is missing, leaving the original surface coming through in areas. It measures approximately 4 1/2" x 6 1/4" in size. Great for reuse or repurposing. Very brittle but wonderful. Quite uncommon.

Up for sale this vintage crystal glass 6 sided faceted lamp finial as shown. Measures 3 1/4 inches tall. Standard harp thread size. Two corner edges have small flea bite chips on the points. Pair Large Antique Vintage Round Brass Finials
We know that these are antique finials of some sort. But given that the bottoms come to a point, we cannot identify their actual use. Perhaps the collector will advise. We surmise that they could have been used in fireplace screens, or to top off a vintage decorative piece. The finials are brass. And have an extensive aged patina. They are in as found, all original condition. We see no damage issues such as dings or dents. The finials measure 2 1/2" in diameter and are 3 3/4" long. We try to describe our items carefully. 4 Vintage Architectural Finials Fleur de Lis ~ Cast Iron Original Patina
4 salvaged finials for curtain rods or whatever project you have in mind- repurpose these architectural beauties! These are 4 1/2" tall by 3" wide. The opening is 1/2" square.
