I am not ... moresure of the age but they appear to be quite old. I believe that they are cast iron. They are thick and heavy. About 3 pounds each. The finials are painted black and stand approximately 5" tall. The bases measure 3" x 3 1/4" at the widest point with the interior dimensions being somewhat smaller. There are screw holes at either end of the shorter sides to secure the finials to the top of a post. It looks as if there are screw remnants in these holes and they would probably need to be drilled out if you plan on using them as intended. 3 of the bases have breaks(see pics) There is some wear and flaking to the black paint( you can see other paint colors in some areas) and also some rust here and there. Overall great set with lots of character. Very nice for outdoor use or indoor display. Please be sure to super-size photos to better view details and accurately judge condition. A set of 2 vintage roof ridge finials made of metal. The ball is apr. 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The overall length is apr. 6 1/4 inches. The metal does have some discoloration from being exposed to the elements. The balls do have some very light dings which do not distraction from there appearance. The metal flaps? do have a light twist which will come out when nailed in place. The pictures should show the rest. Plenty of lighting was used to show as much detail as possible. FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION A VINTAGE BRASS FINIAL with open scroll tree design as the focal point. Delicate. Measuring 1 ¾" in height and 1” across. The decorative tree design culminates to a small round amber stone. The stem is solid and has a beaded decorative band at the top. The threaded bottom is ⅝”wide and approximately ¼”wide on the inside Age has given it a fine patina. A treasure that is in fine shape for a small lamp. Great item for a collector.
