We are unsure of the the thread size where a threaded rod would be screwed into. It appears to be 2 separate cast pieces, as there is a screw on the back holding the base to the eagle. This particular piece is unmarked, so we are unsure of who originally made this. We were told when we acquired this finial that this was used at an American Legion hall here in Chicago. Vintage Brass Bronze Eagle Flag Pole Finial Architectural Americana
Up for auction is a vintage brass or bronze eagle flag finial recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. It is still on a pole which can be removed by unscrewing it from its base. Once unscrewed, there is a 1/4" screw underneath it. I believe the eagle to be brass or bronze, as it will not attract a magnet. It features natural patina, which shows itself as spotting on the sleeve. The wing span is approximately 3 1/2" wide. The eagle is also 3 1/2" tall. A very nice finial. Very nice for reuse or to be used as a finial again. After pulling on the wood for awhile, I finally got it loose. Fine Quality Vintage or Antique Brass Eagle Flag Pole Topper or Finial
This is a high quality vintage solid brass eagle flag pole topper. The casting show great detail. As in for instance in the individual feathers. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage. It appears that it may have been polished some time ago because there appears to be a bit of polish residue in some crevices. But this was done a while ago because the brass has a patina of age. The base part has 3 threaded holes which were used to secure the topper to a pole. The piece measures about 8 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches wide at the wing tips.

Last pole standing on the last tuna cannery in San Diego was topped by this awesome orb 8" in diameter with a threaded copper stem. Which could hold an eagle, wings spread coming in for a perch, they are out there! Looks mighty fine the way it came off the flagpole especially with the great verdigris patina! It will add beaucoup class to any flagpole you might be using and will mount easily with the threaded stem. Some writing on the stem and fitting but I can't make it out. I am guessing mid-century for this. But cannot be sure. Size: wing tip to wing tip is 5-1/2" Finial height without base is 2-1/2" Base is maybe 5/8" wide and inserts 3/4" in. Condition: GOOD vintage. Some darkening to the original gold finish. A rusty scratch in the base which I believe to be from removing this from a rusty metal pole. Small cracks on the base of the wings from manufacture which do not affect the strength or look of this piece at all. The loop appears a little over-ground when it was dressed during manufacture. Vintage Heavy Solid Metal 6 5/8" Flag Pole Topper/Finial Spear/Arrow Head
This finial appears to be older; however. I'm not an expert and cannot say for certain how old it may be. I believe that it's a flag pole finial, but I'm also not sure of this; it could be used as a fence post finial I suppose. I'm also not sure what metal it's made of. It has a gold-tone finish that appears to have wear. Please see the pictures for the details of this piece. I can tell you that it measures about 6 5/8 inches long with a diameter of 3/4" at the bottom. There is also a hole near the bottom for securing the finial to the pole. The spear portion is flat versus 3 dimensional. This piece is in decent used and vintage condition with some wear to the finish and perhaps a little bit of wear to the metal. It's fairly heavy for its size.

Antique solid Brass American Eagle Flag Pole Topper Finial Sculpture Statue 1890
Antique solid cast brass Eagle with two tiered dome caps with ornate cast brass curtain sash all around. The Eagle would have been used as a flag pole or lamp pole topper finial. To me it looks like it may have come off one of those old river boat paddle boats because of the ornate curtain like sash around the domes. The Eagle is cast in the old style. It is a two piece cast. The body and wings are soldered together. It is all brass and the bottom dome is painted black. The opening where the pole would go in is 2" inches across. It is in great shape with great details.
