This is a beautiful cast metal eagle. This is a finial/arhitectural piece that dates to the late 1800's/early 1900's. The piece stands approximately 18.75" high. The base of this is approximately 5.5" square. Finely detailed the wings and head have feathers that look real. The talons are wrapped around what looks like a rock. Each talon has multiple lines giving it life like qualities as well. The front of the eagle has a finely feather detailed chest with a well defined beak and eyes. Gold gilt paint makes this piece a beautiful architectural item. This could be used to accent an exterior column on a house or as a finial at the top of a staircase. Fine Quality Vintage or Antique Brass Eagle Flag Pole Topper or Finial
This is a high quality vintage solid brass eagle flag pole topper. The casting show great detail. As in for instance in the individual feathers. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage. It appears that it may have been polished some time ago because there appears to be a bit of polish residue in some crevices. But this was done a while ago because the brass has a patina of age. The base part has 3 threaded holes which were used to secure the topper to a pole. The piece measures about 8 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches wide at the wing tips.

It was acquired at an antiques shop decades ago by a family member and has since been used as a decor piece. The open-winged eagle is solid brass and screws onto the orb below it. The pedestal base is also solid brass and has a threaded hole for attachment. The orb is sheet brass and shows usage. The eagle shows finely detailed plumage and other features such as the prominent talons. This was never a"cheap" piece. Antique solid cast brass Eagle with two tiered dome caps with ornate cast brass curtain sash all around. The Eagle would have been used as a flag pole or lamp pole topper finial. To me it looks like it may have come off one of those old river boat paddle boats because of the ornate curtain like sash around the domes. The Eagle is cast in the old style. It is a two piece cast. The body and wings are soldered together. It is all brass and the bottom dome is painted black. The opening where the pole would go in is 2" inches across. It is in great shape with great details.

LARGE ANTIQUE BRASS GILT EAGLE FLAG FINIAL 5" X 4" w 2" DIAM BASE 1 1/2 LBS
This wonderful old heavy brass finial shows a classic American Eagle with its wings outstretched. Most of the gilt is intact; I'm sure it's been exposed to the elements for years so the gile shows wear in a few areas(see photos) But it just accentuates the details such as the feathers on the wing, chest and tail. It weighs 1 1/2 pounds. And measures 4 1/2 inches across and 5 inches high including the base. The diameter of the base is 2 inches with a 1 1/4 inch screw. It would look fantastic as a decoration. Iron Eagle Flag Pole Topper LARGE Finial Antique Architectural Old Amaricana
Here's a great old iron eagle that I believe was a flag pole finial. It weighs just under 10 pounds and has a 15 inch wing span. Height is just over 6 inches. The outside diameter of the base is 2.75" It would probably fit best in a pipe or pole with a 3" inside diameter. Or it would look great on the mantle! Selling this Vintage Antique Solid Brass Eagle Flag Pole Finial/Topper. Eagle has a very nice curved 5 1/4" wingspan and stands 2 1/2" high. Between Eagles legs is a predrilled hole to mount a thin flag pole on back. The back is cast open to rest thin pole inside. The initials MC stamped inside. Eagle shows great detail in brass. Bottom is solid. Good condition. Minor tarnish, no chips or cracks. See Pictures.
