Vintage 1940's Chain Link Cyclone Fence Post Top 25C Ball Shaped Finial - 2 tops
Up for auction are two hard to find post caps for a chain link/ cyclone fence. They are 25 C size. Which fits the standard residential 1 7/8" end post(they also made a larger 25 B and an even larger 25 A size) They measure about 4 1/2" tall. I believe this is either aluminum or some type of alloy, as a magnet does not stick to it. I believe this style of cap was used in the 1940's and 1950's. Here is a vintage all solid bronze Gate. Fence Post, Column Topper, Large Ball Finial. Left in as found condition with nice original patina. Measures 11" high the ball is 6" wide and the bottom opening is 2 3/4" Hollow center. It has a small dent, please see photo. Heavy item weighing 12 pounds. I put a magnet on it and it does not stick. Great matched pair large turned solid wood ball finials. Both have old chipped crusty white paint. One has a repair in the corner looks like it broke off and was reattached otherwise they are undamaged. They would be great for the posts at the end of your driveway or the newel posts on your staircase. Overall good condition.
