Antique HUGE Carved Old Paint 1/2 ROUND VICTORIAN Architectural FINIAL Pediment ANTIQUE ARCHITECTURAL FINIAL DECORATION Wonderful antique large solid wood Victorian 1/2 round finial decoration measuring approximately 11" wide and 6" tall. Featuring an orb shape made from building layers of carved wood into a round form. It bears the original old weathered gray paint. Once a complete pediment ball, probably mounted to a stand or base, it retains part of the original wooden peg threaded through the back opening which would have held the two pieces together. Condition is good with lots of paint wear. Rubbing and loss as shown- stable age related wood shrinkage cracks, and general shabbiness from age- love it! I've always used this as a piece of architectural art- it makes an interesting statement standing alone on a table top or ... moregrouped with other unusual shapes. Beautiful. 8" antique flame or torch architectural, fireplace or fence finial with a hollow 2 1/2" square base. I'm fairly certain that it is made of brass, which would lead one to believe it has to do with a fireplace. As you see it has a beautiful patina and where it is worn on the edges you can see the brass color coming through. This would make a beautiful, unique decorative piece. The weight is 3 1/2 lbs. To me it has an Art Deco style, though it may be much older as it came from a country estate and had been stored away in an old farmhouse for many years. This wooden acorn finial looks older. But I cannot say for certain how old it may be. It stands 2 1/2 inches tall and at its widest it has a 2 inch diameter. The base has a diameter of about 1 3/8 inches and the hole in the base has a diameter of about 1/2 inch. This finial was very dry and I've cleaned it once with build-up remover and lemon oil; however, it's likely that it will dry out again. The finish is uneven and has wear and shallow scratches, which gives it a nice old patina. However, I believe that it could also be refinished. Posted with

This wonderful old heavy brass finial shows a classic American Eagle with its wings outstretched. Most of the gilt is intact; I'm sure it's been exposed to the elements for years so the gile shows wear in a few areas(see photos) But it just accentuates the details such as the feathers on the wing, chest and tail. It weighs 1 1/2 pounds. And measures 4 1/2 inches across and 5 inches high including the base. The diameter of the base is 2 inches with a 1 1/4 inch screw. It would look fantastic as a decoration. Selling this Vintage Antique Solid Brass Eagle Flag Pole Finial/Topper. Eagle has a very nice curved 5 1/4" wingspan and stands 2 1/2" high. Between Eagles legs is a predrilled hole to mount a thin flag pole on back. The back is cast open to rest thin pole inside. The initials MC stamped inside. Eagle shows great detail in brass. Lovely Victorian Style Turned Wood Finial on Plinth 6-1/2"
This great old finial has a few blemishes but is still a handsome decorative piece. It would make a wonderful addition to any decorative finial grouping. It is 6-1/2" tall and the base is 3-1/2" This item came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects.
