Superb Carved Wood Figural Finial Fragment Jenny Lind Style
This great little carved ornament has a wonderful feminine appeal. Decor for a little girl's room comes to mind. In the late 1800's a famous Swedish singer name Jenny Lind toured America and received rave reviews. Furniture manufacturer's from that time often used carved ornaments representing the famous singer. This carving is very similar to that type of ornamentation. The piece is 12.5" x 5.5" x 3" Many items I am selling came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in 1997. Antique 1882 Dark Wood Newell Post With Wooden Carved Light Fixture
This came from the back staircase of a historic victorian home in Wellington. Ohio that I am rehabbing. You are more than welcome to inspect and pick up in person. Right now it is in 2 pieces, as I found it. The light section is really heavy with a thick angular centerpiece with surrounding spindles. I would assume it is oak. Heavy dense wood, but I can't really tell for sure with the dark stain. I definitely would rewire. That is a light socket on top. Together they are 61" tall. With the newell post being 41" alone. 6" across. Some egg and dart trim is present around top, which can easily be repaired with new. Please ask any questions. Posted with

This finial is about 5.25" tall not including the dowel on the bottom. It is a little over 4" in diameter at the bottom and about 3" diameter at the top. They could be reused on a clock or as feet for a box. They are in very good condition. The one has a flaw or break on the one"wing" that makes it a little shorter. They are cast pewter that has aged to a warm color. They are way to heavy for aluminum and a magnet doesnt stick so pewter is my best guess. They are clean and there is some gold paint or gold leaf in the crevices. The feet are 2 7/8" on each side and 1 7/8" tall and 3 1/8" tip to tip. They would add 1" to the height of your project.
