12 Antique Coin Silver Teaspoons H & N BB Hyde & Nevins New York
This is a very nice set of 12 coin silver teaspoons. They’re in good condition. As you can see the shelf of the tip is still intact. They have two maker’s mark. The first, H& N, signifies Hyde and Nevins, a partnership based in New York c 1814-1819. The other. BB, looks like Barzillia Benjamin’s mark, who lived 1774-1844 in Mildford CT. Its quite rare to find this many early antique teaspoons together in a set! These spoons have an elegant mono of SL? You will notice they are engraved on the reverse side in the French fashion. They look to be about 1820. By this time Hyde was part of Hyde& Goodrich of New Orleans. So my guess is they were made in Ct. Then sold in Louisiana. But I could be wrong. They are 6 1/8” long and weigh in total 8.6 troy ounces. A very nice item for a collector! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BID* PAYMENT: Winning bidders ... moreand"buy it now" shoppers. 19th Century Set of 5 Albert Coles Pure Coin Silver Table Knives - 165 grams
Set of five pure coin silver knives. The handles all have a lovely design adorning the edges. Each of the blades bears a monogram of the initials"SSW" and a maker's mark for the Albert Coles Company of New York City. Not sure of an exact date. But the company was only operative from 1835 until 1875 so it would have necessarily originated during this time period. They're all in good condition, though they show some signs of wear on both the handles and the blades. Handles and blades are solid silver. Each measures 7" long and 0.75" wide and the set weighs 165 grams. SU-286 Like us on Facebook@ Old Weird Stuff-First of all. Thanks for looking at my items. These are compiled as a labor of love and as an attempt to get the best quality items into the most appreciative hands. For the sake of accuracy. Weight is posted ... moreto the nearest gram but occasionally, if very heavy, in ounces. Weight is always the total weight of the object and may or may not give a good idea of the scrap value as I do not guess the weight of wood. Mirrors, screws, bolts, or anything that may not be silver or gold. I do not take apart or clean anything after listing an item. It is up to the new owner to clean silver and other metals. My scale computes to the nearest gram and it has been tested and calibrated. A note to silver scrappers: There are those on Ebay who will claim that the weight of an object is less than advertised and demand a rebate after the auction has ended. This is an ongoing trend and these individuals seem to complain if silver prices go down between the day they buy and the day they receive. When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to

6 Coin Silver Tea Spoons - E. Jaccard & Co - Saint Louis Mo. 129+ grams
Nice set of 6 coin silver teaspoons by E. Jaccard& Co. of Saint Louis. This is a variation of the fiddle pattern. They measure 5 7/8 inches and weigh a little over 129 grams for the set. There is a monogram on the front of the handle that looks like ME and the last letter could be an L or J or F. It is hard to tell. There is some rubbing on the monogram and a small amount on the company name on the back. Also marked on the back: coin. Besides the rubs there are signs of use- small scratches and a couple of small dings. Considering the age- these are minor and expected. Good usable set of spoons that would blend in well with other fiddle patterns from the mid 1800s. See photos. Please ask questions. Paypal is the only form of payment that is accepted. Antique Coin Silver Small Tray P.L. Miles Cleveland Ohio
This is a lovely little tray by P.L. Miles. It has an ornate mono of NS. It measures 5 5/8” x 4” x 3/8” and weighs 3.65 troy oz. The 1880 Ohio Census has a Peter L Miles living in Cleveland married to an Eva Horton. He is listed as a Jeweler. And was born in England around 1843. The name is not listed in my aunt’s Ohio silversmiths lists. Probably because it is very late coin silver, probably not earlier than 1860. I believe Miles also made Masonic or at least Fraternity pins. A great item for a collector! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BID* PAYMENT: Winning bidders and"buy it now" shoppers. 18th c Raised Southern Coin Silver Beaker Boehme c. 1800
This piece is a rarity by any standard. It is a beaker raised from the flat. Not seamed like most Southern Julep Cups. It was made by Charles Louis Boehme who arrived in Baltimore, Maryland in 1799. He stopped producing silver by 1813. Shape of this beaker is extremely unusual, and very utilitarian, as it keeps the piece from slipping from the hand; it feels good in the hand. I must have been made in the early part of his career, as sheet silver was being introduced and he like all other silversmiths would have started making seamed beakers, which were more easily made and therefore cheaper to produce. I can tell you from experience that a raised beaker should be 10 times as expensive as a seamed beaker which can be made by soldering two pieces of silver together. A raised beaker requires thousands of measured hammer blows. The foot of this ... morebeaker is of course soldered on. If you want to argue about the price. I would like to point out that one probably can’t find a northern raised beaker, in good condition with proper engraving for under $1,000, and another Southern one for 5 times that sum. It is engraved WMT but the last letter could also be a J. It is 3 5/8” tall x 2 7/8” in diameter at the mouth. It weighs 4.42 troy ounces. A wonderful item for your collection! A note on shipping: Due to its value. This will most likely be shipped Priority registered, which is a tad slower but absolutely secure. Antique Dixon COIN SILVER SPOONS Alpaca ice cream spoons & other, Group of 15
Here is a group of coin nickel silver spoons~ 9 Large serving spoons. Various hallmarks; some Alpaca, others Dixon, JS&S and Platex. 6 ice cream/cake spoons all marked Alpaca. All of these spoons need polishing. Here is information found online about Alpaca: silver is a common name for a metal alloy. A combination of metals, of. Nickel and occasionally other metals such as. Lead or. The alloy also can be called nickel silver. German silver, new silver and paktong. It is used in a variety of manufactured commercial products, as well as in technical industries. Alpaca silver was first used in China as a substitute for. It made its way into Europe through traded goods. Where it was marketed under the name of paktong or white copper. In the 18th century, several German companies adopted the use of a similar alloy, and in 1823 a competition ... morewas held to discover which alloy was the best silver imitation. Berndorf, a German manufacturer, sold their nickel silver products under the name Alpaca silver, and the term became commonly used throughout Europe. In 1840, a process called was developed. Allowing a fine metal coating to be plated onto metal and non-metal object, which opened many new markets for nickel silver-plated goods. For many years. Alpaca silver was a component in several European coins, including the Portugese escudo and the German mark. With the shift in currency to the Euro, these coins are now effectively out of circulation. A form of the alloy is also used in the U.S. nickel, although the composition of 75% copper and 25% nickel is called copper-nickel in America. Coin silver basket of flowers spoon C Burr 1787-1825
Coin silver serving spoon in what I believe is called Basket of Flowers pattern by C. Burr. Back is marked: C. Burr" C. Burr was born in 1787 and died in 1825 and is listed as working in Providence RI. Presumably this spoon is no newer than 1825. Spoon is in very good condition showing a small amount of wear. The bowl has several small dents and nicks. Which due to the shiny-ness of the bowl may or may not show up in the photos. The raised flower pattern is pronounced and vivid showing only a small amount of wear. There is a monogram I believe reads"LHY" but those old monograms can be tricky so take a look at the photos. There are some slight nicks and scratches but overall very good condition. Spoon measures just about 9 inches long and weighs 1.8 ounces on my postal scale. That's not troy ounces and the scale claims to ... morebe accurate to 1/10th of an ounce. Piece will need to be thoroughly polished when buyer recieves it.

Antique Coin Silver Water Pitcher A Brasier Philadelphia Chouteau Family STL
This is an utterly gorgeous coin silver water pitcher by Amable Brasier of Philadelphia and New York. He worked 1790– 1840. It is monogrammed JPC. This pitcher was purchased without provenance in the St. Louis area. Some years ago a Chouteau descendant. Donated some parts of a tea set(as I remember a creamer, sugar, etc. to the Missouri History Museum. They were by Brasier and were the same style, age etc. as this pitcher. While the initials were different(I think PC) it does not seem like much of a stretch to say this pitcher belonged to the Chouteau family of Saint Louis, and was ordered from Brasier at the same time. Brasier had strong connections to Missouri, and supplied tools to at least one St. Louis silversmith. His son also eventually ended up in St. Genevieve. The most likely Chouteau to have owned this pitcher was(Jean) Pierre ... moreChouteau, who made a fortune in the fur trade; he was the oldest son of the Laclede branch of the family. There are some small nicks and dents around this large piece. But nothing that detracts from its beauty. It is 11” tall, 9” handle to spout, and 6” at its widest diameter. It weighs an impressive 32.6 troy ounces. This is a wonderful item for a collector of beautiful antiques! A note on shipping: Due to its value. This will be probably be sent via Priority Registered, which takes slightly longer but its absolutely secure. PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BID* PAYMENT: Winning bidders and"buy it now" shoppers.
