Absolutely stunning. Ive never seen another pair for sale! These truly gorgeous candle sticks stand 140mm high and have the most lovely unblemished green enamel work. They are in fantastic condition for their age with no splits and no dents of any but the vey tiniest size. Both are fully hallmarked sterling silver. The only point to be totally accurate is the slightest movement at the column and base joints which cannot be seen. 2 Vintage Sterling Silver Antique Style 8 1/4" Tall Candlesticks by A Taite& Sons Ltd dated 1962 Each candlestick measures approximately 4 3/ 8 inches or 111 mm across the length of its base from end to end by just over 2 3/4 inches or 72 mm across the width of its base from side to side. The removable sconce is 2 3/8 inches or 62 mm across the length of its upper rim by 1 3/4 inches or 45 mm across the width of its upper rim from side to side and it has an internal candle holding aperture that is just under 7/8 of an inch or 2 1 mm across its width or diameter. Both candlesticks stand 8 1/ 4 inches or 21 0 mm tall to the tops of the sconce rims when they are in place. The candlesticks are both made from sterling silver in oval shapes that have relief step decorated stems and bases. A very attractive pair of Architectural repousse sterling candlesticks by the Loring Andrews Company. Cincinnati, c.1896-1958. The Loring Andrews Co. was a prestigious Cincinnati firm of silversmiths which retailed silver manufactured by the Baltimore makers. Mostly Kirk, so the rumor goes. Aesthetically decorated with deep floral and architectural repousse against a darker stippled background. This contrast accentuates the decoration which still preserves all the original detail. In extremely good condition. The candlesticks are cement-filled and have removable bobeches. Fully hallmarked under the base beneath an inscribed name: Lilian Louise Greene. Dimensions: 10” tall. A fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver Corinthian column candlesticks; part of the ornamental silverware collection at AC Silver. Description. These fine antique English sterling silver candlesticks have a subtly tapering columnar form. The impressive Corinthian capital of each candlestick is embellished with a bead decorated upper border and flower medallions to each corner. Interconnected via drape swags, and accented with drape style pendants. Each capital retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconce also ornamented with a bead decorated border. The upper portion of each column is decorated with tied ribbon and husk swag designs. Which incorporate the vertical bands of husk decoration which extend the full ... morelength of the column, to the circular colet foot. A silver manufacturing company that later became the Hickok-Matthews Company. The candlesticks are decorated on the rim, shoulders, ankles and base with an intricate scrolling pattern. The candlesticks do not have removeable bobeches or wax drips. The central portion of the candlesticks are monogrammed with the cursive initials EGP on one side and LPH on the other. The bases are engraved with 1929 for the year of presentation. The candlesticks are marked on the underside with Sterling for the silver purity and an M inscribed over a sword for the maker. PAIR of Solid Silver CANDLESTICKS 1966 Hallmarked Birmingham Sterling FILLED NR Super Condition- Really Gorgeous Design- 9+ troy oz. These are a superb pair of VINTAGE sterling silver candlesticks. That was made in Birmingham. England in 1966 by the illustrious Edwardian silversmiths, W. I. Broadway& Company at their Frederick Street workshops. They are in a traditional shape with integral round nozzles. Each one measures 3 7/8" high by 2 5/8" in diameter across the base and 1 1/2" in diameter across the nozzle. They have nicely filled weighted bases. Each weighs 141.3 grams- together well over 9 troy oz. They are in very good condition with NO dents. Less than the usual surface scratching and almost NO dings- see photographs- SUPERB. They sit nicely upright on their bases with almost NO distortion. Each is hallmarked to ... morethe base with B&Co, anchor, lion passant(sterling silver assay mark) R showing that they were hallmarked in Birmingham in 1966. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A superb pair of candlesticks in very good condition after almost 50 years!
