THIS IS REAL STERLING SILVER and I had this verified at a local gold and silver shop. The total weight of this is 88.8 grams. This is a nice and heavy cup. It appears to be in used condition. Vintage Sterling Silver Sheffield Hallmarked Dated 1939 Baby Christening Cup Offered for auction is a vintage sterling silver baby christening goblet. The cup has three hallmarks on the base with what looks to be a crown with a cross. A lion with a cross, and a shield or crest with a letter that I think is an"M" Also on the base is"Sterling Silver" and"H47" I believe this is a piece of Sheffield but please refer to my many photographs as I am not an expert in this area. The cup has been engraved with the recipient's name and dated April 5th, 1939. It measures 4" high and weighs 2.1 ounces. It is quite tarnished-I would imagine the cup would clean up very nicely but I will leave that for the new owner.
