THIS LISTING IS FOR. this exceptional. Antique, signed GEORG JENSEN, Sterling Silver, large water pitcher. This is a large, heavy piece measuring approx. 8.5 inches tall and weighing 839 grams. It was made in the 1930s and is fully hallmarked from the Denmark Silversmith GEORG JENSEN. It is in remarkable condition for being 75 years old. It is not dented. It has a beautiful, Art Nouveau"Grapes" design. I will have other pieces in this grapes pattern available on ebay so please keep an eye on my other listings. I may not get it listed today. Beautifully designed pitcher has a wooden handle so your hand will not get cold/hot when pouring items from this vessel. The grapes hang gracefully under the handle on this pitcher. Such a subtle design. Really beautiful. Fully hallmarked with the following marks: The Georg Jensen crown mark which was used between 1925 and 1932. The"GI- 925- S" in the circle mark which was used by Georg Jensen from 1915 to 1930. It is also marked"Dessin" and"G1" and"Sterling" and"Georg Jensen" and"385D" and"Denmark" This piece, as are most of the pieces that I have available in this Georg Jensen"Grapes" pattern, was a gift from a husband to his wife in 1942 and the pieces are engraved as such. It is in very nice condition with no chips or cracks but does show a couple of small scratches on the edge near the base. The silver is in perfect condition and the lid opens and closes properly. The base shows a starburst pattern. Nice item from a top maker. Starts low with no reserve. On Feb-09-13 at 12:49:44 PST. Up for sale is an antique Georg Jensen Denmark sterling silver milk jug pitcher. This is a gorgeous pitcher. All hand hammered. In the rare and desirable Grapes Pattern. In very good condition. Please note: the top of the silver handle seems to be slightly pushed in or flat. Probably caused by someones thumb over the years from use. There are no other dents and no monogram. Weighs just under 20 Troy Ounces. Measures about 6.6 inches tall. Base measures about 2.75 inches in diameter. Also has a beaded stud design at the top and an unusual design at the base. Barnard & Sons 1850's Sterling Silver Ornate Cream Pitcher Engraved Repousse
Very ornate sterling silver cream pitcher by Barnard and Sons. London, England. The pitcher has hallmarks which to my research may date the piece to the 1850's. The marks are worn and I am not completely sure of this date. There are various marks on the bottom that I am not sure of the meaning. For example; 19=dg or dy, etc. Under the spout is a monogram. Also, on the opposite side of the hallmark are six numbers that have been engraved(930161) The pitcher is about 4 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide at the top. The footed base is about 2 3/4" wide. The pitcher is in very good antique condition. There is a small dent to the top edge of the spout and two very small pin head size or smaller dents to the side. This sterling pitcher is over 150 years old and has signs of use that you may expect. Including small scratches that may be ... moreable to be polished out. This is an antique blown glass pitcher with Alvin silver overlay. It appears to be a much-loved vessel from around the turn of the century. The body has a panelled look.it is smooth on the outside and ridged on the inside. There is a polished pontil mark on the bottom. It is signed on the upper rim near the handle. To the right of the handle is: 999/1000 FINE and the Alvin"A" mark. Next to that is: D 1264-2. The rim is silver covered. The overlay is carried down 3" in front and 1.5" around the back. It is a design of flowers. Vines and leaves. There is a blank cartouche under the spout. There is a 1" section of silver missing just to the left of the handle. Pics 9& 10) This is not very obvious; infact. I did not see this when I bought it. Otherwise. The overlay is in fine condition and great detail is still evident. ... moreIt stands 7" tall and is 4.25" wide excluding the handle. There are no cracks. Chips or repairs to the glass. Measures 5.75" highest point by 4.75" widest point. Silver overlay was polished by me. However, it still has a dullness that may brighten up a bit more with some more polishing. I don't feel or see any cracks or repairs. Nice, smooth condition, pretty ruby red, for its estimated vintage age. It is pre-owned. Not new and not perfect. I polished the silver and you can see the word STERLING on each side in center of the decorative floral design. While pitcher is not dated. This sterling silver cream jug measures 4 inches. 5 inches long, and 2 1/2 inches wide. It bears the hallmarks for Chester, England silver with the year mark for 1900. There is also a partial shield stamped near the hallmarks with the initials"GR" being the only ones that are legible. The base of the pitcher is also stamped with the maker's mark, Gallichan, Jersey. The condition is excellent, with no dents, warps, breaks, monograms or other problems. The design is very elaborate and interesting and undoubtedly hand-chased. This item weighs 4.6 ounces.

It has a pleasingly bulbous body shape defined at both the shallow pouring lip and at the base by a series of incised horizontal lines and a carrying handle which has been finished with scrolling decoration and acanthus leaves in the Rococco style. The major decoration however has been lavishly applied to the main body which is gloriously covered allover with remarkable acid etched work of the very highest quality. He is dressed in medieval style clothing and has been rendered with exquisite attention to detail. His facial features and hair, his shirt and shoes, and even the design on his beer stein, have all been expertly crafted with meticulous care and great skill by a master silversmith. The cartouche has intricate decoration at both the top and the bottom but has not been monogrammed and shows no signs of mono removal. GREAT QUALITY GORHAM c1925 STERLING SILVER WATER PITCHER Presented is a fine quality. Sterling silver water pitcher made by Gorham between the 1910s and the 1930s. This piece is in a classical form, with a large spout and a banded base. One side has a sinuous, threaded monogram of the initials ARH. The underside is marked with the Gorham hallmark and sterling. This piece is in very good overall condition. There are some very minor dings to the bottom portion of the pitcher but they are only noticeable upon close inspection and a dent in the side which can be easiy fixed. There are no splits. No cracks, no breaks, no monogram removals and no repairs. The pitcher measures 8 3/4 inches from handle to spout. Is 8 3/4 inches tall and weighs 636 grams or 22.4 ounces. This water pitcher dates between 1908 and 1937. The pitcher is in great condition with one little dent in the scroll work as shown in the picture. The pitcher stands 8 1/2 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches wide. The pitcher weighs 657.8 grams but is not a scrap silver piece. This pitcher was bought out of a North Carolina estate and has had only one previous owner. Please See Pictures For Details. STERLING SILVER PITCHER Royal Danish E84 4 Pts 738gm
As my Mom tells it. This sterling silver Royal Danish 4 pint pitcher was given to my ex-wife and I for our wedding some 40 years ago(time flies) by my grandparents. While the marriage didn't last, my mother had the sense to keep the pitcher and store it at her house while I was off in the Army. I had long forgotten both the marriage and the pitcher, until my mother found it while cleaning out a closet. My mother, who is in her 80s now, isn't too clear on this, but it may have been given originally to my grandparents for their wedding, which would make this around 90 years old, or more. According to my USPS scale it weighs 738 gm. It's 8 1/4 inches tall and the base is 4 inches in diameter. I haven't tried to clean it, as I don't know how to clean silver, and I don't want to damage it. As the accompanying photos of ... morethis pitcher indicate, it is in fairly good condition. It has a little tarnish, but no dents, deep scratches or engraving, other than the identification on the bottom. Humorously, the engraving on the bottom"ROYAL DANISH STERLING E84 4 Pts" appears to have been done after the engraver had a pint or two themselves, as there appears to be a double stamp of'royal danish' as if some hesitation was involved in the engraving process.
