This piece stands about 7 1/2" high to the top of the glass bowl portion and measures 10 1/4" across the top rim. The silverplate holder is very ornate, with the handles resembling a branch with birds resting on them. A bird pattern is also repeated just above the basefoot. Antique Simpson Hall & Miller triple silver plated brides basket #1492
Offered is a fantastic antique Simpson. Hall& Miller Silver Co. brides basket. This basket was made in the last half of the 19th century and was triple plated to ensure it's lasting beauty. The bowl is scribed with a fantastic fan design and the outer edge has a delicate starburst type design all the way around. The bowl measures about 8" across the inside and the base has a diameter of 5" The lip is 6 3/4" tall and the handle adds another 6 1/2 to the top of the finial which makes the overall height approx. 13" This is a beautiful example of 19th century workmanship.

Antique silver plated. Victorian marked bride's basket. The mark is Meriden B Company with 1842, probably the year it was made. The basket is unique in its shape being that it's square and stands on a pedestal which stands on a square base, There is a handle that is beautiful in shape and design. The basket is unique in the beauty of the designs that surround the entire piece from the stand to the basket itself and the handle. There is damage and attempted repair on both handle ends which attach to the basket part. Soldering was done which was not the best job that could have been done. This unprofessional repair can be rectified by redoing the soldering in a better fashion by someone who knows what they are doing. The bowl measures 4 1/2" tall x 7" wide x 11 1/2" corner to corner. Fitter ring insert is 4 1/2" I believes this to be decorated from Jules Barbe. The bowl l weighs 3#s unpackaged. The condition of the bowl ~ concave polished pontil with an approx. 2" area on base of bowl where in the making there an area the bowl did not fill in the making, but is covered by the clear glass covered it, its smooth, if you have questions about this or have concerns ask before you bid. There are huge flowers& fruit all around the figures and the detail is of the best we have seen. Even the hinged handle has tiny birds on each side of the hinge. There are two innocuous hairline cracks in the clear inside casing only. But it's not the actual handle it's the decorative piece. It does not affect the handle at all. This is a fantastic silver plated huge bride's basket. There is no makers mark. It has floral engraving within the basket and raised thick art nouveau trim around the bowl and handle. The bale is attached with fine quality tube and pin method. It has a pedestal base. There are two areas where the plating is worn. See photos, and two other small spots. There is one scratch. The outside is almost perfect, overall is so beautiful the flaws don't interfere. Beautiful Victorian antique brides basket. Silverplate frame with lovely aesthetic scrolling pattern on the sides and handle. Beaded edgeing. The art glass insert is milk glass with shades of purple on the ruffled border and clear glass edging. The silverplate is monogrammed- looks like G and HW and dated 1899. Made in Canada by the Toronto Silverplate Co. The basket measures 10 1/4" across the handle and 12 1/2" high. Very good condition with no chips or cracks. The quadruple silver plate holder was manufactured by the Derby Silver Company of De rby. Connecticut. And bears the company stamping as shown in the photo arra y. The holder features a cher ub at the top of the handle. And four legs adorned with griffins. You will find wear to the silver. Customary and expected given the nature and use. The photos accurately sho w the condition. One area I didn't get to include is the underneath side of the holder and that also shows wear to the silver. Message me if you have concerns and would like to see pictures of the under side of the bowl well. As you can see in the photos. The raised details are quite intricate. I love the figural Gothic Revival renderin gs on the feet! The ... morecrimped and fluted bowl displays a color fade done in the distinctive style of peachblow. The center is opalescent white which de epens along the wall to a s oft lilac and intensifies at the crest to a royal purple or eggplant. The color of this art glass is just as relevant in today's palette as it was when it was crafted. A clear rim encircles the margin. And the effect is stunning in sunlight. Obvious to all who photograph art glass. The white shimmers on the bowl are merel y flash from the sunlight hitting the surface. I don't find any breaks. Bends, chips. Cracks or signs of repairs to either the holder or the brides bowl. The holder does sit level on a flat surface. This set is being sold No Reserve. And is as we acquired it. I have no idea whether th e pieces are original to each other or married. Either way. It's irrelevant because the display is top-shelf fa bulous! Very Nice Silver plated Basket with Handle. This basket was on every Thanksgiving table filled with fruit for as long as I can remember. I would think it to be about 100 years old. Measuring 12" across. Basket is 4" deep and from the bottom of the basket to the top of handle measures10" It is in good condition for its age, has not been polished in awhile. It is in nice condition is tarnished.Has scratches and wear. I have no idea if it could be polished or not. Measure's with handle up about 2 3/4" high and is 10" across. Antique Van Bergh Silver Plate Cake Brides Basket C.1900 For your consideration is this antique silver plate cake brides basket made by Van Bergh Silver Plate Co. Circa 1900. Stands 9 1/4" tall to the top of the finial and measures 8 1/2" in diameter.the base is 4 1/2" in diameter. The top surface features both a shiny and burnished(non shiny) finish, very common in Victorian silver plate. The underside of the basket is shiny and the pedestal base is burnished. There is light silver loss present on the underside, but the burnished base is worn or it needs a bit more polishing. The basket has a slight tilt, 2 shallow pinpoint dings on the top surface and a dent on the top edge which doesn't show too much, see last picture. A strikingly simple yet elegant turn of the century or late Victorian bride’s basket with an elaborate frame. Bowl is an early American pattern glass example similar to patterns done by the U.S. Glass Company but I have never been able to identify this pattern. Since I am not sure and I don’t want to attempt to fool anyone. If you know the pattern, email me and I will post it in the listing. In any event it is a beautiful example of early American pattern glass and a brides bowl to boot. The bowl is approximately 10 inches long. 5 inches wide and 4 inches high. Rests in a Victorian silver plate holder which is 6 ½ inches long and 5 inches wide and 12 inches tall. I will let you judge from the photos. But this piece makes a statement. The glass is almost translucent and one photo shows the colors of light that come through the glass. ... moreWould compliment any treasured Victorian or pattern glass collection. Condition is as follows: Glass: Excellent to mint condition considering the age. No chips. Cracks, dings, hairlines or flakes on the top or body. HOWEVER PLEASE NOTE: there is a large chip on one corner of the base. Due to the clear glass your eyes don’t go to it but it is there and I have tried to accurately photograph it in pictures 9 and 10. Please consider this prior to bidding as I don’t want you to have any surprises and my price reflects this issue. Silver Plate Holder: Excellent to mint condition as shown in the photographs. The frame is signed Wilcox Silverplate as shown in the photos. It is also numbered 4445. Oddly there is a fork hanger on one side so I have often wondered if this could double as an open pickle castor. The only flaw I can discern is that the handle slightly leans and is not a straight 90 degree angle. It is important to note that I do believe these pieces were manufactured as a set. This large silverplate basket is ornately decorated with Hummingbirds and ivy vines around the ornate four footed base and also on the outer rim. The basket measures about 9 1/2" in diameter and stands 6" in height not including the ornate folding handle. With the handle extended the basket is 12" in height. The basket stands o n four fabulously ornate feet. The silver craftsmanship is excellent. There are no breaks or repairs. The company's silver items typically feature maker's marks with the company's name inside of a circular design. While their limited-edition silver items were marked with individual numbers. The company won a first place medal at the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia thanks to their variety of silver-plated white metal hollow ware. This is a really pretty James W.Tufts-Boston-Warranted Quadruple Plate-2487 Brides Basket. It has a square footed base with leaf and floral design. There are leaves in pairs of two on the handle top and on the handle bottom area. But I do believe there are two sets of leaves missing or broken off of the base. See photos There are two ruff spots that looks like they were attached. However, they do not detract from the piece as the bowl will cover this area. The little satin cranberry glass is handblown(rough pontil, and it is a little defect because it shows through on the top, as a indentation) and it is scalloped and ruffled at top edge going from a dark cranberry pink to a light, light pink into the bottom of the bowl. This is a beautiful Silver Plated Brides Basket/ Fruit Basket. There is an impressed stamp on the bottom which reads: Pairpoint Mfg. Co. New Bedford, Mass, Quadruple Plate, Pat. Jan. 31, 1893 and number 1249. This item is 120 years old. A lot of embossing on this basket. Looks like a branch with apples on the inside bottom which are raised on the inside and punched in on the underneath. Branches, leaves and apples make up the handle which is hinged. 4 feet on which to stand with a gallery above the feet. Looks like the four corners which are indented in have an engraved design on them. This Basket is in excellent condition showing no wear on the silver. Antique Meriden Britannia Company brides basket with handle- late 1890's?
This antique silverplated brides basket is marked Meriden B. Company on the bottom. It also has the number 1786. I do not believe this is the maker date- Meriden Britannia Company was established in 1852 and in 1898 formed the International Silver Co. The grandparents were married about 1897. So it does fit with that time period and maker marks. I could not positively date this specific maker mark as they used several marks. It does need a good polishing. There are no dents or damage. It is 9 1/2 inches diameter and 6 inches tall to the bowl and 12 1/2 inches tall with the handle up. The handle moves freely and is securely attached. Please ask if you have questions. This is about as good as it gets! The Figuaral Silverplate Basket has been resilvered with the normal scratch marks on the base for the silverplater ~ the frame stands almost 14" tall. Measures 10-1/2 wide at its widest point with an inside opening of 9-1/2" It has a raised base that measures about 4-3/4" There are for elaborately decorated feet, and the base is adorned with flowers and leaves. Antique Rogers& Bros. Silver Plate Cake Brides Basket C.1874 Cherubs Small darkened area. Lacquer residue. Lacquer residue. For your consideration is this spectacular silver plate cake brides basket made by Rogers& Bros. Circa 1874. This impressive basket stands a whopping 16" tall to the top of the handle and measures 10" square. The design elements are amazing, with rounded shell shaped corners, ornate etching and a raised center circle with a house and mountain motif. The pedestal base is just beautiful with back to back cherubs on a heart shape frame and a bottom floral band. There are no dings/dents or noticeable silver loss other than a few spots on the underside, but they do not show. The basket was once protected with a lacquer coat, however, there are just some orange/brown traces left in a few spots, see last 2 ... morepictures. A bit more polishing should remove it. The only issue to mention is if you pull the handle on 1 side it will come completely out, otherwise left alone, it does stay in place and works well. Up for your consideration is a stunning Blue Ruffled Satin Glass Brides Basket with a center post base. The satin glass bowl is a gorgeous light blue with ruffled edges. As the glass curves towards the center of the bowl. There is a beautiful iridescent pink gradient tone to the glass. The bowl has no chips, scratches or cracks. The brass toned base has E.P.N.S. stamped into it. The nut that secures the bolt holding the bowl to the base is gone. But the bolt is steady enough to display safely. It shouldn't be hard to find a bolt to fit at any hardware store. The bowl with the base measures 5 1/2" tall. The bowl alone measures about 9" from side to side. And is about 2 1/2" deep. This beautiful Hand Blown Vintage/Antique? Brides Basket is wonderful. The Silverplate Basket is by James W. Tufts. Boston, Warranted Quadrupleplate with a Floral Top Pattern and Twisted Handle. The Flower pattern on the top is followed thru on the feet of the basket. The Glass Basket itself is hand blown and has a nice smooth ground pontil. Crimped edge was probably hand crimped. The Glass bowl is a Cherry color on top with a Flower and leaf design and white underside. Stands about 10" tall and the Glass Bowl is 10" in diameter at it's widest. Please note the two pictures of the edge. There is what I think is a place where maybe a bubble type thing burst when blowing or crimping. It is NOT a crack and does NOT go all the wya thru. Difficult to see as it is near the edge where the edge sections are clear or without color neither ... morewhite nor cherry. I do not know the maker of the glass bowl and not too good with these types of things just what I like. There are no other marks, no chips. A very nice old piece.

Amazing Wilcox silverplated basket probably brides basket. It measures 9 1/2" by 9" and is 2 1/2" tall and is in very good condition. No wear that I can see and beautifully polished. Raised grape and leaf and vine decoration in bottom of basket. Beautiful leaf and flower highly raised decorations all around the inside with cutout designs. Highly decorated paw feet with shield decoration all around outside bottom. Twisted knot handle. As shown in photos one of the silverplate balls on one side of the handle is missing. It took me a while to notice it and its not structurally necessary. Handle does not stand up on its own. Its quadruple plated and is heavy weighing 2 1/2" lbs. An amazing basket in great condition. Lovely Victorian SWING HANDLED BRIDE'S BASKET with open reticulated legs and a floral 4 3/8" diameter deep center that's quardruple plate over heavy white metal. Made by MIDDLETOWN PLATE CO. 1836. Stands about 9" high x 9.25" at the bowl's edge. Do notice the lovely openwork on the four legs. You should be very happy with this lovely Victorian basket since it's recently polished to show the usual light wear with NO bad damage. NO repairs. The bowl is stands straight and the handle is tight when standing up. This bowl has had a past life so perfection cannot possibly be expected. Extremely Fine Silver Plate Swing Handle Cake or Brides Basket. Made and sold by Asprey of London. Asprey& Co. Was founded in 1781 by William Asprey in Mitchom, Surrey, his son opened a London store in partnership in 1841, the firm struck out on its own in 1847 when it moved to 167 New Bond Street, a location that they have occupied ever since. Famous for the jewels that were created for the royal families of Europe and the world, Asprey made& purveyed high end household goods and traveling articles to the elite of society. This beautiful basket displays the high level of workmanship and impeccable design that are the hall marks of Asprey. Shaped rectangular form with lobed interior surface, the corners are delicately pierced in a lace like pattern of foliate scrolls. Hand chased detailing on the pierced area and at either end. ANTIQUE BRIDES BASKET HAND BLOWN GLASS
Lovely Large Hand Blown Glass Brides Basket in a nice Shaded Pink/Rose and White color. The Center inside has a small partial round ring mark where I apparantly had set something a long time ago but not very noticeable but want to mention it and I find NO cracks. There are NO chips on the glass and it is hand crimped on the edge with a clear edge finish(see photo) It has a nice ground pontil which I have also tried to show in the photos. I have no idea what the metal is of this basket holder and there are no markings. I did some polishing on it as it has been packed for quite some time and some polish's nicely and other shows wear so I decided to leave it as is. It is ornate. Very old and is the original basket holder for this glass basket. The Glass Basket is 12" in diameter and the carrier is 14 1/2" tall. Thanks for checking ... moreit out!
