They were from a set of butter or dessert plates owned by my ... moregrandparents and I got these 3 when the set was divided up by the family. There is a stamp on the back that identifies the company that made them. If you know the name of that company. Please let me know. I do know that they are skillfully hand wrought. There were many excellent artisans during the time of Novick and Kalo and one of those artisans must have made these. My grandparents lived in Chicago too. Each plate measures 6-1/2" diameter. The letter H is not engraved. But is applied to the plate. There is also a raised 1/8" wide lip going around the edge of the plate. I took one plate to a gold/silver jeweler and he said it weighed 4.82 Troy ounces. So the three together are about 14.46 Troy ounces. They are each nice and heavy and without any damage that I can see. Of course there is some light scratching which could easily be buffed out. These plates are stunning and so beautifully made. If you're a collector of silver don't pass them up. You might never see anything as lovely as these again. Priority mail shipping in the U.S. is included. Please email any questions.

6 Sterling Silver 6" B&B plates by Manchester Silver, Providence R.I.
Six Antique sterling silver 6 inch bread and butter plates by Manchester Silver Co. of Providence Rhode Island founded in 1887 as W.H. Manchester Co. in original"tarnish proof" bag divided in six compartments marked R. Harris& Co. Jewelers. Washington, D.C. I really don't know how old they are but figure they at least date to late 1800s or early 1900s era. They are clearly all marked sterling with the Manchester Silver Co. hallmark of the cross and crown. Three of them are in excellent condition. Two of them have some slight denting in the middle, and one has more denting and some small knife marks. They have been in the family since they were new and have been used for bread and butter. They are all perfectly round with no bent rims, even though in the pictures they might look otherwise because of their angle. Collectively ... morethey weigh 12.6 ounces or 360 grams = 11.574269 troy ounces. So currently scrap value would be slightly less than $360. But they are too nice to be scrapped!

Lovely PAIR of PERUVIAN 925 Sterling Silver ASH TRAY / Plates with Coins 1903-06
This is a lovely Pair of Vintage PERUVIAN 925 STERLING SILVER ASH TRAYS. The sides are like tulip shape with each notch meant to hold a cigarette. In the center of each is a Peruvian coin. One is 1903 and the other 1906. There are some hallmarks underneath, but as shown in photos, they are barely discernable. Visible on one is 925 and PERU. On the postal scale, each weighs about 30 grams. They are about 3 1/2 inches overall diameter. They each have a couple of very small light dings which are mostly noticeable on the back side, one has a ding noticeable on the front; they have normal light scuffs and minor scratches consistant with used shiny surface Silver, one has a foggy spot-having no pattern I think the scuff, scratches and spots could easily be buffed away. They each have a monogram in the center, I believe it is a"D" which a good hand engraver could work with and change to some other letters or possibly create a crest or design. The diameter is 6 5/8" The condition is great; the pattern is clear with nice oxidation. There are pretty illegible. Intertwined monograms in the cartouches. On the reverse of 6 of the plates, there are various date inscriptions ranging from October 15, 1915 to December 25, 1917; the other 6 plates do not have any date inscriptions. The total weight is approximately 66.4 Troy Oz. The marks are the old Gorham hallmark- STERLING- A1950. These two plates/ trays were underneath the Gorham salt and pepper shakers that I have listed in another auction. But because they are not Gorham, they are obviously not an original part of those shakers. These are approximately three inches in diameter. THE TOTAL WEIGHT OF THESE TWO COMBINED IS 17.5 grams. Both plates are sitting on the scale, not just one. It appears that you could have these monogrammed with your initials. They could also be scrapped. They are stamped INTERNATIONAL STERLING NA 11. I cannot find anything on these anywhere, and they appear to be the only set on ebay. There are some minor polishing marks on them, but that should be expected with vintage silver. Up for auction are a set of 8 plates measuring 5" across. Each is marked Sterling on the bottom. These were found at an estate sale and are as found.
