THIS LISTING IS FOR. this exceptional. Antique, signed GEORG JENSEN, Sterling Silver, large water pitcher. This is a large, heavy piece measuring approx. 8.5 inches tall and weighing 839 grams. It was made in the 1930s and is fully hallmarked from the Denmark Silversmith GEORG JENSEN. It is in remarkable condition for being 75 years old. It is not dented. It has a beautiful, Art Nouveau"Grapes" design. I will have other pieces in this grapes pattern available on ebay so please keep an eye on my other listings. I may not get it listed today. Beautifully designed pitcher has a wooden handle so your hand will not get cold/hot when pouring items from this vessel. The grapes hang gracefully under the handle on this pitcher. Such a subtle design. Really beautiful. Fully hallmarked with the following marks: The Georg Jensen crown mark which was used between 1925 and 1932. The"GI- 925- S" in the circle mark which was used by Georg Jensen from 1915 to 1930. It is also marked"Dessin" and"G1" and"Sterling" and"Georg Jensen" and"385D" and"Denmark" This piece, as are most of the pieces that I have available in this Georg Jensen"Grapes" pattern, was a gift from a husband to his wife in 1942 and the pieces are engraved as such. An antique 1909 Birmingham hallmarked Asprey& Co. sterling silver mounted glass cream pitcher. The petite size pitcher measures 3 5/8" height. It is in very nice condition with no chips or cracks but does show a couple of small scratches on the edge near the base. The silver is in perfect condition and the lid opens and closes properly. The base shows a starburst pattern. Nice item from a top maker. Starts low with no reserve. On Feb-09-13 at 12:49:44 PST. Up for sale is an antique Georg Jensen Denmark sterling silver milk jug pitcher. This is a gorgeous pitcher. All hand hammered. In the rare and desirable Grapes Pattern. In very good condition. Please note: the top of the silver handle seems to be slightly pushed in or flat. Probably caused by someones thumb over the years from use. There are no other dents and no monogram. Weighs just under 20 Troy Ounces. Measures about 6.6 inches tall. Base measures about 2.75 inches in diameter. Also has a beaded stud design at the top and an unusual design at the base. Very ornate sterling silver cream pitcher by Barnard and Sons. London, England. The pitcher has hallmarks which to my research may date the piece to the 1850's. The marks are worn and I am not completely sure of this date. There are various marks on the bottom that I am not sure of the meaning. For example; 19=dg or dy, etc. Under the spout is a monogram. Also, on the opposite side of the hallmark are six numbers that have been engraved(930161) The pitcher is about 4 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide at the top. The footed base is about 2 3/4" wide. The pitcher is in very good antique condition. There is a small dent to the top edge of the spout and two very small pin head size or smaller dents to the side. This sterling pitcher is over 150 years old and has signs of use that you may expect. Including small scratches that may be ... moreable to be polished out. This is an antique blown glass pitcher with Alvin silver overlay. It appears to be a much-loved vessel from around the turn of the century. The body has a panelled look.it is smooth on the outside and ridged on the inside. There is a polished pontil mark on the bottom. It is signed on the upper rim near the handle. To the right of the handle is: 999/1000 FINE and the Alvin"A" mark. Next to that is: D 1264-2. The rim is silver covered. The overlay is carried down 3" in front and 1.5" around the back. It is a design of flowers. Vines and leaves. There is a blank cartouche under the spout. There is a 1" section of silver missing just to the left of the handle. Pics 9& 10) This is not very obvious; infact. I did not see this when I bought it. Otherwise. The overlay is in fine condition and great detail is still evident. ... moreIt stands 7" tall and is 4.25" wide excluding the handle. There are no cracks. Chips or repairs to the glass. This sterling silver cream jug measures 4 inches. 5 inches long, and 2 1/2 inches wide. It bears the hallmarks for Chester, England silver with the year mark for 1900. There is also a partial shield stamped near the hallmarks with the initials"GR" being the only ones that are legible. The base of the pitcher is also stamped with the maker's mark, Gallichan, Jersey. The handle and base are applied and the base has a polished pontil. There is a small ding in the base but it is internal not chipped. Hard to get a photo. There are no other dings, chips or cracks. It has a pleasingly bulbous body shape defined at both the shallow pouring lip and at the base by a series of incised horizontal lines and a carrying handle which has been finished with scrolling decoration and acanthus leaves in the Rococco style. The major decoration however has been lavishly applied to the main body which is gloriously covered allover with remarkable acid etched work of the very highest quality. The sides have both been heavily embellished with a lovely and intricate asymmetrical design of swirling. ... moreFlowing vines, leaves and grape clusters which wind sinuously all across the surface invoking the exuberance of the Art Nouveau style. These act as a spectacular framing device for the depiction of a figural form flanking a large shield-shaped cartouche. The figure shows a seated man with a large moustache happily brandishing a beer stein in one hand and presenting the cartouche with the other. He is dressed in medieval style clothing and has been rendered with exquisite attention to detail. His facial features and hair, his shirt and shoes, and even the design on his beer stein, have all been expertly crafted with meticulous care and great skill by a master silversmith. The cartouche has intricate decoration at both the top and the bottom but has not been monogrammed and shows no signs of mono removal. The pitcher is in excellent condition throughout with a lovely soft patina on the silver and crisp, clear definition on all its fabulous decorative elements. Used condition with only the usual and expected use and or storage marks. I suspect that this pitcher was once cleaned with ashes(a polishing method that was popular from the late 1800s thru the Depression. Mix water& wood ashes into a paste and use to polish off the tarnish) The surface of this pitcher has a satiny sheen instead of the brilliance of relatively new silver. The original condition can be easily restored by a competent silversmith for around $50. but some of the silver purists, prefer the sheen of old silver. Other than that. There are a few very minor tings from use and storage. easily remedied. again, by a competent silversmith. FESC Sterling Silver Water Pitcher holds 52oz of water This is a large 52 fluid ounces water pitcher that is one of the heaviest I have ever encountered. The maker FESC which my assumption is attributed to the Federal Silver Company which operated in New York. NY from 1920 to 1961(they are the only company I have seen with the acronyn of"FESC" Elegant pitcher! Handle is decorated with acanthus leaves, well crafted. Overall the pitcher is in great condition. The previous owner has a dent repaired on the left side of the spout. I would grade the repair about a B- The repair disguises the damage quite nicely, but the repair is still evident. No other signs of damage or repairs. I will allow 7 day return. Description: This auction is for an antique Art Nouveau Lenox hard porcelain flowered sterling overlay pitcher with lid. The Lenox mark on the bottom was first used in 1906. the mark of the silver maker is on the bottom as well. The pitcher is marked sterling on the side under the handle near the bottom. The pitcher measures approximately 7 1/2 inches tall to the top of the lid. The base 4 inches wide, the width from handle to side 5 inches. The pitcher is in good condition for it's age; no repairs. But there are two hairlines, one at the bottom of the handle's right side& another to the left bottom side of the handle. The hairlines are both smooth to the touch. There is one small rough area that looks like some sterling or glue, when you look at the photo#8 you may notice, or not, near the top middle of the flowers. It is not ... morea chip& there is one other area on the handle that appears to be a loss of sterling rather than a chip. There is one small black dot under the handle that appears to have been caused in the making. Just covering all the bases, this is a rare find& a beautiful piece.
