I'm not a silverware aficionado. However, I believe 2 of these pieces are serving pieces(the 2 with scalloped spoon bowls) and are for sugar and something ... moreelse(larger) These both have a maker's mark on back: H& S" The larger is 6.5"L and the smaller 5.25"L. Both have initials"JTR" The larger has a small dent on back. The other 2 are flatware and the plainer, larger one has"Guydam" engraved on handle and maker's mark"B& VD" on back. The smaller, more ornate spoon has"A1" R" C" C" on back. The"C"s could also be something else. The larger is 6"L and smaller 5 5/8"L. Both appear in good shape. Always glad to answer questions or send more photos. I've just been advised that the larger spoon with shell design is a tea caddy and the other a sugar spoon.

These 2 very old spoons are believed to be from Scotland. Two different silversmiths have examined them and researched the hallmarks and reported that ... morethey do appear to be English or Scottish. The word"Coin Silver" was not put on flatware made in European countries as it was in America. Therefore. Knowing that they came from the McDonald clan, it is believed they were made in Scotland. The silversmith thought that the silver content is probably between 50% to 70% The color looks more like pewter than silver because it has a slight gold tone. The patina is very smooth. The monogram is"HMD" and it stands for H.McDonald. There are 5 hallmarks on the back which have been researched but no one can determine which country they were made in. Or the silversmith's name. The length of each spoon is 6" from end to end. The condition is good for the age. One spoon has been mended in the middle. But it was repaired very well with silver solder. I will ship to anywhere in the USA and I accept Paypal. The package will be insured with tracking.
