The thickness of the glass is amazing and has survived all these years. The top is monogrammed though appropriately so for a piece of this caliber. From the marks impressed on the bottom I believe this piece dates to 1911. Please see the photographs carefully as they are also part of the description. There is some wear throughout consistent with age and use along with a few what I would consider a few light dents around the middle of the base. Though a few more prominent ones on the bottoms outer edge. There are a couple on the top, one more prominent on the letter"L" of the monogram. ANTIQUE J.E.CALDWELL & CO STERLING SILVER AND GLASS FLASK
Up for auction is an antique J.E. Caldwell& Co flask. The flask is of glass and sterling silver. It is 6 1/2" high. Fully marked. The cup is still gilded on the inside. The condition is very good. The cap cork is intact, the hinges and cap function fine. The cap opens by twisting and pulling. There is a little dent to the cap and a little crack to the glass under it. The thick glass is intact, with no chips or scratching. It is hardly noticed, but I must to inform the buyer. This is a great collectible and very usable antique flask. Good luck with your bidding.

Bliss Co. piece) I cannot date this piece too accurately. From what I can scrape together this might be dated anywhere from 1890-1922. I found another listing for a Bliss Flask dated 1893) This may be a genuine antique. Opposite the maker mark is"7/16" on the spout. This indicates the Pint size of 7/16ths. CONDITION: Excellent condition. Although it is dirty inside and my attempts to clean it have been unsuccessful. a more professional job will be required to make this usable. There are 3 dents. Two small on the face of the flask(close to each other) and one more noticeable dent on the bottom right. ... moreAlso 2 scratches that intersect the pin stripes. It has been monogrammed with the initials A.F.S. on the front and the back has a hand hammered pattern on it. The top-cap is also made from silver and is threaded. 13" ANTIQUE FRENCH STERLING SILVER BACCARAT CUT CRYSTAL LIQUOR FLASK WINE BOTTLE
Description: An antique French sterling silver and cut crystal liquor or water flask. Dating to 1888 to 1903. The tapered body is of fine quality cut crystal, patterned by an all over diamond point and octagon motif, the base having a 16-point starburst. The crystal is stunning and as is typical of these old flasks, the glass was often made by one of the major glass houses of the period. Attributed to Baccarat, in the diamantes pierreries pattern, as the cristallerie used paper labels from 1860 on(which often got lost, worn or washed away) and did not use their acid etched signature until 1936. Often mistaken for perfume or scent bottles, these flasks were originally meant for serving refreshments, to be served in the attached tumbler or drinking cup. These highly collectible'spirit' flasks are sometimes known as carriage flasks, ... morestow-able and portable for travel. This one here is unique in that it is quite large, measuring 13" in length. Beautiful sterling heart perfume flask that I've owned for 20 plus years and use to keep perfume in it myself. Heart measures approx. 2" X 3&1/2 inches and marked.925 with more marks I dont understand. Came in box along with scarlet twisted rope tassle. Nice little item of sterling. STERLING SILVER TIFFANY & CO.FLASK - ANTIQUE - FAMILY OWNED - ca.1872
This wonderful Sterling Silver Flask was made by Tiffany& Co. It belonged to our Great Grandfather who was born in 1852. So I figured the age of this flask would be around 1872 when he was 20 years old. The initials on the front of the flask are his, Gustav Freund. He lived in Chicago and was a President of Sinai Congregation. The approx. size is 5" high with a width of almost 3" and thickness of about 1" Not including the knob on top. The knob is most unusual. I had to take it to a Antique dealer to have him show me how to open it. He explained how it was a special lock by having to twist it first, then you pull it up to open it. He also told me to keep Vaseline on the grooves so it would twist and pull up easily. Please note that in my photos you might see some of the Vaseline. I also photographed a few small minor dents ... morebut forgot to photograph a couple on the side of the cap. Actually. As I'm listing this I can see one of them in the fifth photo. The seams on the side might look open but I assure you they are still tightly sealed. When the lid is all the way up, you can see that the cork inside is still nicely intact. There are minor scratches on the flask, nothing deep. The photos will show a little light pitting but nothing serious. Engraved on the bottom: Tiffany& Co- 470 5- Makers 7288- Sterling Silver- 925-1000- 1 gill- 5. One gill equals 4 oz. liquid) A jeweler weighed the flask for me. 84.7 DWT or 4.23 Troy ounces. Because Tiffany& Co. is the manufacturer this becomes quite a fine collector's item in addition to it being a terrific Antique to have in your silver collection. Antique hallmarked sterling silver flask. Measures approximately 12 cm(4&3/4 inches) from top of cap to bottom of flask, and 8.2 cm(3&1/4 inches) wide from side to side. Hallmarked on the bottom of the base: makers initials"JD&S" Sheffield Crown, lion, and date letter"u" 1937) Also marked to the left hand side of the bottom"045" and to the right side"1/5 P T" The maker's mark is for the famous English silversmiths: James Dixon& Sons Ltd. Cornish Place, Sheffield(1872-2004) The sterling silver hinged top is hallmarked with a lion, and turns 1/4 turn and then lifts up, with original cork lining inside the top. The hinge arm also has a hallmarked lion. Genuine antique, old, used, and worn; in good sound condition, no cracks, no holes, and no restoration.
