The reel appears to be in good working condition except for the handle is missing. I did note an indentation in the bakelite where there are two screws near each other on the back plate. The only marking on this reel is on the head plate. Stamped"GERMAN SILVER" The tail plate is hard rubber and has a strong on/off click button. The crank on the head plate is straight, counterbalanced and has a lrge bulbous wooden knob. Crank action is very smooth. Foot and spool also being german silver. It measures approximately 3 3/8" in diameter and approx.2" across, measured inside to inside. The foot has the number 2/00 imprinted on bottom. Screw heads are nice and all rosette washers in place. It's in excellent condition from a mechanical viewpoint with strong clicker. The reel has a hair line scratch on the face plate as well as a small chip in the hard rubber on the edge. Also, there appears to be an extra hole in the foot but nicely done. Horton Blue Grass No. 5 heavy duty casting/ trolling reel. A very tough reel to find. This example features counter balanced handle, jeweled endcaps, dual clickers in the face and back plates, raised back plate housing, and german silver construction. Pictures were taken in direct sunlight so any flaws can be seen in the pics, mechanically excellent with super smooth action- handle spins forever when you flick it- and both clickers are functional and strong. Marked with serial number 12023 on the bottom of the foot. Manufactured in Bristol, Connecticut after Horton purchased B.F. Meek& Sons. Early Antique 18th Century Dated 1788- German Bible with Coin Silver Latches& Leather Binding The antique German bible from the 18th century is dated 1788 on one of the interior front pages.The hand painted interior page has a decorative floral pattern and old German text with a 1788 date within a border of vibrant red and rich green tempera pigment. The early bible has hand-made coin silver corners. Engraved hinges and decorative coin silver latches that are hallmarked on the inside"12" indicating German coin silver) along with“IPS” EV” and“B” There is a hand written note in German script affixed to the first page. The decorative early handmade endpapers have an unusual iridescent metallic copper floral pattern. The silver hinges and edges are tarnished, and the latches still operate properly. The inside of the book is in good condition, with a few spots of mold and yellowing of pages. This beautiful dresser set is German hallmarked with 800/1000. Crown and crescent, and the silver maker's emblem. Total weight on all 7 items is 1.05 lbs. The letters AJ are inscribed on the face of all pieces. The beveled mirror is 12 1/2" long. It has lost some silver backing in some spots. There is a chip on the lower right. The trays: measure 4 1/4" And 6 1/2" Also, a shoe brush; the bristles lean a bit from standing. The bristles are in good condition on two of the brushes; the rectangular hairbrush bristles has signs of wear. The back of the mirror frame has some discoloration in spots. Up for bid is one Vintage Hard Rubber& German Silver Fly Reel single action- J. B. CROOK& CO. MAKER, N. Y. This reel is marked on the front hard rubber plate with"J. B. CROOK, MAKER, N. Y. On the bottom of the foot it is marked with"60" This reel has a hard rubber front and rear body face. The spool. Pillars, rims, and foot are German Silver. There is a clicker controlled by a slide button on the rear plate. It is in good working condition and good overall condition with the exception of two cracks in the front hard rubber plate, one running between the two screws and the second running about 5/8" from the right screw(see photos) The cracks appears old and do not affect the operation of the reel. The rear bearing cap looks as though it should have a jewel in the center, but has just a hole. Could have a missing ... morejewel. The handle has a hard rubber knob. Overall. The reel is in good working condition. Doing a little research I found that by the late 1880s J. B. CROOK& Co. was buying from other manufacturers and selling under their name. The actual manufacturer is not known. It measures 2-1/8" diameter. 2-5/16" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-3/4" long by 9/16" wide. Herman Bauer Antique 800 German Silver set of 4 Cup Holders
This is a nice 800 silver German set. Asked someone about the markings and they said they look like markings by Herman Bauer. They are a little faded but there is the 800. A sideways shield with H visible, a crescent moon and a crown. Please note that this is not 100% verified. Items are tarnished but seem to be in good shape. I do not see any visible damage or any scratch marks. One cup seems to have a couple faint scratches probably from natural wear. Have not been cleaned. Being sold as is. Stunning Large German Antique 800 Silver Cherub Repousse Box 369 Grams. Up for consideration is the gorgeous large 800 Silver German Box with Cherubs. The lid of the box is decorated in repousse with four cherubs. The sides of the box have panels of fruit and/or fruit bowls with birds. The underside of the box is marked 800 for the silver purity and also has a crescent moon and a crown indicating Germany as the country of manufacture. The box is in excellent condition with no dings or dents or wear to the silver. The repousse decorations to the box are beautifully done and the interior of the box is gilded. The box measures 5 1/2 inches long. 4 inches wide and 3 inches tall.
