BEST QUALITY 1808 GEORGIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER TEAPOT Presented is a wonderful Georgian English sterling silver teapot. This piece dates to 1808. The teapot is done in a very classical form. The lid of the teapot is attached via a hinge invisible from the outside. And has a finial bolted on. There is a band of beautifully hand-engraved leaves, flowers and acorns around the body of the pot. There are two cartouches, one on either side of the pot. One is blank, the other is monogrammed with a large, gothic'B' very well done. Monograms of this quality are rarely done today, so if this is your initial, this is the teapot for you. The interior of the pot is quite clean, and the piece is completely useable. This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver. The leopard's head crowned for the city ... moreof London, the date letter N for 1808, the King George III head duty mark, and the maker's mark for Duncan Urquhart and Napthali Hart. The interior of the lid is also hallmarked with the lion passant and the date letter N. This piece is in great overall condition. There has been a monogram removal on one side. But the silver is not thin or weak where the removal was done. There are a couple of dings on the exterior surface, but nothing excessive or noticeable. There are no splits, no dents, no leaks, and no solder repairs. This piece stands approximately 6 inches tall and is approximately 11 inches from spout to handle. Antique Sterling Silver on Copper Coffee Pot or Teapot LOVELY
Here is an amazing antique sterling silver on copper coffee or tea pot for sale. This is one nice piece and in beautiful condition for its age. I did the hardest part of polishing it. But buyer may want to fine tune it and get all the nooks and crannies and the inside needs cleaned. Im not an expert on these old silver hallmarks, but I do know the upright Lion on the top mark means Sterling. The shields stand for the City and also date it I think, but I cant say for sure. See Hallmarks for yourself in last picture. It stands 10" tall and weighs just over 39 ounces. Very ornate floral design on the spout and handle, crown shaped finial, and flowers on the feet. Firm originally founded in 1680. Hallmarked on all moving parts including finial. Top, handle, and teapot body. Quatrefoil makers mark contains the letters E& J W B within quatrefoil on bottom of pot. This makers mark with lion/lion head/lady/letter A suggests 1836-37 period. The finial is what makes this beautifully engraved teapot special. A seated oriental figure holding an opium pipe makes this a standout piece for a collection. Ivory spacers are present on handle. Sterling silver tea, coffee or demitasse pot made by Redlich& Company. The tall body is raised on a step, pedestal base and the hinged lid has a great pineapple finial. The classically designed handle is wooden and has a glossy finish over it. This piece was probably made in the 1930s to the 1950s. The underside is marked with the Redlich& Co hallmark. The body of the piece of antique teaware is embellished with fine chased floral and stylised leaf decoration accented with scroll bordered trellis work incorporating two scroll bordered vacant shaped cartouche to either side. The teapot is fitted with a hinged hallmarked domed cover retaining the original hallmarked floral and foliage finial. Secured to the interior of the cover by a screw fit nut. The cover is encircled with chased floral and leaf decoration and ornamented with an applied ... morescroll border accented with stylised leaf designs. Designed in an elegant, simple form reminiscent of pieces created by Christopher Dresser in the Victorian era. The teapot and stand are both hallmarked for Sheffield 1913 and carry the maker's mark for Mappin& Webb. The stand. Possibly either Bakelite or Some Similar Material if I had to guess. I have attempted to make a sketching of the Hallmark on the Bottom of the Teapot. It looks more or less like a Pine Tree with the Initials"M" and"D" on each side of it. Below the Tree appears to be 2"B" Marks that are Uneven-looking, Leading me to believe that they are Hand-Forged in Nature. The Piece does not draw towards a strong magnet at all. This is a stunning VINTAGE LARGE solid sterling silver tea pot which was made in Birmingham. England in 1931 by the famous silversmiths, William Suckling Limited at their Vyse Street workshops. It has a fabulous ART DECO circular shape. Has a composition handle and finial, a stunning decorated band, a shell decorated spout and is raised on a stepped pedestal base. It is NOT engraved. It measures 6 3/4" high to the top of the finial. Is 5 1/8" in diameter by 8 5/8" long from handle to spout. It is VERY substantial- it weighs 528.9 grams- that is over 17 troy oz. This is a beautiful large silver teapot made in the reign of King William IV by Edward. Edward, John and Walter Barnard(The Barnard Brothers) in London in 1830. The teapot is of very fine quality and is of melon shape with bands of fluting running from the final and down the sides of the teapot. The teapot has a squat urn finial above a domed lid. The teapot has a lovely fluted spout to the front and scroll handle with thumbpiece and insulators to the back. It stands on four feet with chased shell leaf decoration. This individual size teapot is about 3-1/4" high at the rim. And 7-1/4" handle to spout. It will hold up to about 1-3/4 cups. It has a white body decorated with a pink band bordered by two narrower black lines. The matching lid also has a black line. The underside of this teapot is stamped with the Sterling China mark used from the early 1980's. The date code is for 1997. With the lid. This was a popular pattern made by many other companies including Jackson and Walker. This pattern features an Oriental blue floral design on a white vitrified background. The teapot stands 4 1/2" tall to the tip of the finial and measures about 5" in diameter at the widest part. It is in good condition with no chips. Details: This charming sterling pot has an acorn finial mounted hinged cover on classically decorated form. Ribbed on the lower half of body and decoratively mounted carved wood handle. Monogrammed. Hallmarks include the lion passant(english sterling) and a letter touch mark"C" for assayed date on the underside of hinged lid( see photo#3) There is a second set of hallmarks on the upper section(opposite side to monogram) arranged in a typical English grouping of 4 touch marks. But only the 2 mentioned are clear. Of the other two~ one is rubbed almost completely out( this most likely the town mark) and the other is only slightly rubbed and is most likely the maker's mark, but I'm not familiar with the mark( it displays in a crest/ shielded frame with an interior symbol) Condition notes ~ There are a couple small dents. One ... moreon the lid that is noticeable. It appears repairable, more of a bend than a dent. Overall the condition is consistent with its age/use, i.e light stacking/ handling marks. The handle appears a replacement( solder mark at the location the spout meets the form) No other noticeable repairs. Displays beautifully and is functionally sound.
