VINTAGE SILVER VASE VESSEL ISLAMIC ? PERSIAN ? STERLING ? 3.25" MARK aprox 2.5oz
EBAY AUCTION HTML DESCRIPTION This is a very interesting older vintage silver vase or vessel(it looks like an Islamic or Persian piece but having an unknown hallmark) having two small"handles" and decorated with repeating stylized vine designs running round the body of the piece. The vase or vessel appears to have been made with a center join between the lower and upper halves of the piece. It stands 3 1/4 inches in height and weighs approximately 2.5 ozs on my postal scale and is in generally good condition with a few very small dents and dings mainly along the lower sides. My given weight should not be considered totally accurate as my scale is not a precious metals scale but rather a postal scale and can vary slightly. Suffice it to say I would confidently say that the piece weighs close to the 2.5 ozs though. I cannot guarantee ... morethe silver content of the piece as I do not know the hallmark of the piece nor have I been able to test the piece for silver grade. My personal guess. This is a beautiful Vintage Alvin Sterling Silver Overlay Trumpet/Lily Vase with Clear Etched Glass of Daisies(3 panels) The Sterling Silver is etched with a Floral Swag pattern. The etchings on the glass seems to be daisies with stems and leaves. The Sterling Silver is marked V 616 4 999/1000 FINE(with the old Alvin Silver Mark) which is hard to see. It is marked on the very edge and the pictures would not pick it up as I could barely see it with a eyepiece. Also the glass is marked on the bottom etched 49. New York, Circa 1895. The vase is of stylized baluster form. The applied and engraved shaped rim formed as scrolling foliate motifs, the body chased, engraved and applied with a conforming design. The circular pedestal foot with conforming incised wave form motifs, ending in an applied scroll and leaf tipped rim. The interior of the rim is hand engraved with the scroll motifs and the interior is partially gilt to prevent staining. The underside of the base is hallmarked with Tiffany s maker s mark, sterling mark, pattern#12521, order# and T for pieces made between 1891 and 1895. There is evidence at the top that it has been dropped a couple of times but a good silver smith could make it look like new or sending it back to Tiffany. Listing is for a marked"925" sterling vase. Either signed&or numbered above the 925 mark, located just below the rim on the interior, see next to last photo. Ribbon like and flower footing/base, footing has a slight wobble that needs corrected, nothing cracked or broken. Measures 10 1/16" tall with an opening diameter of 3 11/16" The bulbous part is intentionally a darker grey, feels somewhat smooth, but gives a sandblasted? apppearance, with 3 floral motif emblems equally spaced. VINTAGE GORHAM STERLING SILVER COPPER VASE ANCHOR ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU CRAFTSMAN
Being offered. For your consideration is a gorgeous antique art nouveau copper and sterling silver vase. Handles and legs are sterling silver I believe that the copper body is solid copper Providence. Rhode Island Circa 1880s-1890s It is incised with GORHAM AY162 an anchor and some another image. It is a nice size. Standing 6 1/2" high. The three graceful handles start at the top of the vase. Gently turn and continue along the length of the piece where they turn into the legs at the narrow base. These three handles are made of sterling silver and I would questimate that the handles alone weigh around 40 grams. One of the legs has broken off and is missing, as can be seen in my pictures. This lovely vintage piece of history would be considered a craftsmens gem. I am not exactly sure of the precise history. Early Tiffany Studios favrile art glass floriform vase with Tiffany& Co Sterling silver base. No glass damage. Cracks or chips. c. 1891-1902 This is a great early Tiffany floriform vase with a Tiffany& Co Sterling silver base. The sterling base has a nice wide sturdy base with a feather or acanthus leaf integrated design. A matching feather/ acanthus leaf motif is carried up the stem form fitting the glass vase. The glass vase has cut lines around the bottom that interlock with the silver vase. This demonstrates that the glass vase section was fitted to the silver vase prior to the acanthus leaves being installed during production and that the silver was made specifically to fit only this one glass vase. I have seen other pieces that were a collaboration between Tiffany& Co. Silver& Tiffany Studios. These companies were being ... morerun by father and son during the time period dated on the silver. This is an early piece of Tiffany glass with no iridescence. It is documented that the Father. Charles L Tiffany of Tiffany& Co, did not care the iridescence on the glass. Antique Indian Sterling Silver Flower, Bud or Spill Vase marked PVR circa 1910
Antique Indian Sterling Silver 4" Tall Relief Decorated Flower. Bud or Spill Vase circa 1910 This Antique Flower. Bud or Spill Vase measures approximately 1 1/2 inches or 38 mm across the width or diameter of its upper body from side to side by 1 7/8 inches or 48 mm across the width or diameter of its foot or base from side to side and it stands 4 inches or 1 02 mm tall to the top of its upper rim. The vase is made from 42.2 grams of a high grade sterling silver in a trumpet like circular tapering shape with a relief fluted upper body that has a leaf like upper rim and it stands on a raised step decorated foot that has a shaped lower rim. The vase has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram and the underside of its base has been impressed with an unknown Indian silversmith or makers mark PVR all as photographed ... morebelow. Although I have been unable to find any silver marks as such the vase has been tested and it is guaranteed as being made from a high grade 925 standard sterling silver. I estimate that this vase was made in India circa 1900- 19 20. The condition is used and Excellent for its age. The vase has No Large Dents. No Holes, No Splits, No Cracks and No Repairs that I have found, the vase stands straight, the decoration and definition is very crisp, the vase holds liquid without leaking. The silver makers mark is still legible although as this is a used antique flower vase it does have the odd small shallow dent around its body and rim along with the obvious signs that it was hand made and it has some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use. It has the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would not go amiss. Personally I think that this antique flower vase can still be used today and that it would make a superb addition to any collection, I also think that it looks fantastic considering that it's around 100 or so years old. Up for auction is an antique early 20th century. Possibly earlier sterling silver Chinese export vase in good condition for the age. There is normal aged wear and patina with some light dings on the base. The piece has Chines export marks on the base however I don't know the maker of this piece, see photos#10& 11 to view the marks. The hand chased dragon design is detailed and displays well. The vase measures 6 7/8" 17.5cm) tall not including the wooden stand. With the wooden stand it is 8" 20.5cm) tall. The top is roughly 3" 7.5cm) in diameter and the base is 2 3/8" 6cm) in diameter. Total weight of the lot is approximately 339.g grams. First is a bud vase by Newport. Sterling cement filled reinforced. Measures approximately 6 1/2" tall. With a 1 1/2" diameter base. Total weight of this vase is 45.4 grams. Also included in this lot is a pair of candle holders by Empire Sterling. They are also weighted. The Censer is very finely made throughout with a light and superbly kilned bluish/green celadon glaze. I do not know a great deal about the censer. I believe it would either be Japanese or Korean in origin. The Censer also has a beautiful tripod footed flowing form, and is finely potted throughout. The censer is also signed on the base, and has a finely pieced and hallmarked sterling silver lid which has a nice cloud etched design. The censer is in fine original condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Censer displays beautifully measuring 3-1/4 inches wide by 2-1/2 inches tall. Vintage B Rogers Sterling Silver Rimmed Glass Urn Toothpick QTip Holder Bud Vase
Up for sale is an antique B Rogers sterling silver rimmed glass toothpick holder. Piece is shaped like an urn with lion heads flanking each side. Aside from its use as a toothpick holder. This item could easily double as a bud vase or be kept in the bathroom as a holder for q-tips. It is 3 1/4 inches tall with an inside depth of 2 1/4 inches, has a top diameter of 2 5/8 inches and a base diameter of just under 2 inches. It is marked on the side of the rim, as seen in the photographs, 1883 B Rogers Silver Sterling. Glass is free of chips but silver has a few tiny dents along the rim. Has a top diameter of 5 1/2" and a base diameter of 3 1/2" The base is marked Gorham Sterling 1444. This item is from an estate in Northwestern PA and appears to have never been used. The base was in its original sealed plastic. Still has its Gorham sticker and was in its original box. It was taken out of the plastic for picturing. It appears to have been in storage for quite some time as it was very dusty and the silver does have some light tarnish. Truly a stunning eye catching piece. Fabulous fully marked miniature sterling vase and stand. Egyptian national sterling marks at least.900 silver made after 1940. There is also a makers mark on the top rim. Vase not on stand is 3 inches tall. 3 1/2 tall on stand. Weight(it is a VERY thick gauge silver) of vase and stand together is 2.2 ounces. Overall very good condition. Rare find. This is an adorable minature vase or urn that could be great in a doll house. It measures about 1 1/4" and needs a great polish which I leave to the new owner. It is marked Sterling Quality and the number 1961. Of couse because it is so small. It takes a very bad picture but it is quite unique.
