Lot of five antique pure coin silver spoons made by the Hollister Company of Hartford. CT and Greenfield, MA. There are no date marks, but the company was only active in the 1840s The name"S.M. Morrison" is engraved on the front, and the rear has the maker's mark, a mark denoting the silver content. The condition varies by spoon, but they are largely in good condition, with a minimal amount of wear and oxidizing. Each measures 6" x 1.25" and the lot weighs 84 grams. Presented. Without reserve, is a 6" Fiddle pattern T-spoon by George Washington Bull. American Coin Silver. Oval bowl. Flared shoulders. Slight downturned handle. Marked G. W. BULL in a rounded corner box cartouche. Farmington. CT, circa 1840) The mark is easily legible to the naked eye. Condition is Very Good. Fully formed bowl with defined border. Bowl shows many small nicks along the edge. Surface shows pitting on the handle and is therefor consistent with more than normal wear. No repairs or removals noted. No mono. SIGNED ANTIQUE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER ENGRAVED BOX DRAGON CHINESE JUNK SHIP
This auction is for a really wonderful CHINESE EXPORT 900 SILVER BOX. Circa 1890. It is signed, but I do not know the maker. It features beautiful, very well executed engraving of a 3 masted sailing ship which I presume to be a Chinese junk. There is also a very well done dragon engraving all around this cartouche of the ship. There is a place for a monogram which is still blank. The box measures 5 5/8" long, 3 1/2" wide and 2 1/8" tall. It weighs 285 grams, or 9.2 troy ounces. It is in nice estate condition, but there are issues. There are some dings, dents. 2 of the corners are dented, and there are some pinpoints as well as soft, shallow dents. None are really horrible, they are present, but they are things I would expect considering age and use. The wood(or other material? lining is missing. The engraving is still very ... morecrisp and defined, no wear, which to me is the most important element of the piece. Signed on the bottom. Now folks. You got to admit that not all of you have a matched set of 4 coffin end, bright cut master salt spoons that date from 1800/1805. These are 4" long and in nice condition. There are no bends, brakes or dents. The bright cut is crisp.These are by Robert Wilson most likely while he was in New York. The date on these is probably around 1800/1805, because bright cut decoration was disapearing around this time as was coffin ends. These are awfully nice. I sort of hope no one buys them, because I don't have a set like this either.

Extremely beautiful coin silver dish. Has had some professional work done and had the vermeil interior renewed. Not sure of a manufacturer. The maker's marks are difficult to discern. A very impressive and beautiful Spanish/Austrian Colonial Coin Silver Hand-Chased. Repousse' Mirror by the very famous Silversmith Family of"PEREDA" whose work dates back to the 1500's according to the Estate paperwork) The design and workmanship is more than amazing and the detail is just beautiful. I just pulled this amazing Mirror out of a box of great antiques that I inherited from a major Art& Antique Collection. This great Mirror has a wonderful patina, and has a very nice wood back. It is in good condition and should be in a Museum or with a great collection of Spanish Colonial items. I believe it was probably crafted in the first half of the 1800's, during the latter part of the Spanish Colonial Period(though it could have been done earlier) It bears the makers label on the wood, which reads: PLATA FINA- ... moreMarca"PEREDA" and is also very well marked on the Silver. In the lower center right it's stamped and reads: PEREDA; in the lower center left it reads: AUSTRIA and below that: GERMANY; it's also stamped 900 twice between the two previous stamps(see photo# 10) This beautiful Spanish Colonial Mirror measures 15 1/4 inches tall and measures 11 1/4 inches at it's widest. 11 1/8 inches at the bottom and 11 inches wide at it's top. Everyone who has walked into my home has admired this dynamic piece; it is more beautiful than the photos can possibly show(especially being that I'm not a great photographer) These would make a beautiful addition to any Spanish Colonial Home, Santa Fe/ Southwestern Style Home or any Art and Antique Collection. It appears to be a'cropped or tabled' diamond form above an M and an E. After the M there are some much smaller additional letters or forms that look like possibly an'o' and'n' They are indecernable to us using a 16X loupe. There are no dents or cracks. It is all original with no repairs. It measures 5/8" tall x 2 3/4" across. The ring handle protrudes 3/4" and the finger hole has a 9/16" inside diameter. This is a fine pair of large coin silver sugar tongs or nips that were made by Downing& Baldwin. Of Newark, NJ, circa 1836. The tongs measure a very large 6-3/8" long and weigh 1.15 troy ounces. The tongs are in very good-to-excellent condition, and are beautifully engraved, SP" on their arc. The tongs are marked on the interior, D&B" on both sides. A plain coin silver mug with fine beaded borders. By William Carrington, Charleston, SC c.1830. Here is a heavy mug. Of plain cylindrical form with fine beaded borders at the lip and foot. There is a simple contemporary inscription: Lottie. William Carrington was born in Connecticut and served his apprenticeship as a jeweller and silversmith in New York. It was there that he formed a life-long friendship with Charles Tiffany. He then settled in Charleston in 1830. In 1835 he founded his own firm. W. Carrington& Co. which continued till 1872, when he formed a partnership and the name changed. The mug is in very good condition apart from a few minor dings. Struck on the base as pictured. Description This is a very unusual and perfect decorated sterling silver napkin ring. It has finely beaded edges and is decorated with cut-out designs. I n the front it is engraved with the name Eileen and the date Aug 17/03 Markings Clearly marked sterling with other interesting hallmarks that I cannot interpret Size Approximately 1 and 3/4 inches across by 1 and 1/8 inch high.
