You are bidding on a SET OF 5 VINTAGE/ ANTIQUE ART DECO STERLING SILVER TEA/ COFFEE SPOONS-1915 SHEFFIELD? They are hallmarked with a crown. A lion and I think the letter'y' ornate) also they have H Brs(please see pics) I was told they are 1915 Sheffield silver(but I'm not an expert) They measure approx. 9.5cm long and not sure of the weight(don't have the right scales) They have some wear and tear. Some scuff marks here and there, some small surface scratches, some small dark spots and they are a little discoloured with age and use(would need a bit of a polish) Selling as is. An exquisite hallmarked silver powder compact with a clear engraving plate. Hinge and opening latch in excellent condition as is the slide mechanism to open the second powder compartment. Typical tiny age blemishes and a few dents are evident. 3 1/16" dia(8 cm) 86g but that includes a metal part within. I can't make out the maker's mark but it is hallmarked for Birmingham. DIVINE EUROPEAN ANTIQUE SILVER REPOUSSE LIDDED BOX CIRCA 1915
A very special unusual antique solid silver repousse box. The box is oval in form. With fabulous repousse lid. There is no hinge, the lid sits on top of the base and fits perfectly. I am not sure what this was used for, too large for pills, maybe a patch box, or snuff box, or just a very decorative silver repousse trinket box, dating from the turn of the 20th Century 1910-1915. It is very substantial, made of very thick silver, even the base is heavy solid silver, a high end, quality silver box. Please see hallmarks for more details. This box is lovely, measuring approximately 6.5cm wide by 4.5cm wide and 1.75cm in height, an absolutely gorgeous repousse silver box. Selling this beautiful Hallmarked Sterling Silver rimmed glass or crystal bottle with its original perfectly fitting top. Glass or crystal- don't know; probably crystal. It looks in excellent condition for its age; I'm sure a magnifying glass and a younger keener eye could spot some defects. But for me it looks great. The silver is very good with a few gentle ripples around the rim, with the Hallmarks for the maker too worn to read, but the other three are fine. Anchor, lion passant and the letter m for Birmingham 1911. It must be pointed out that it is clear that it is the letter m even though the left hand side of the m is worn. Logic dictates that it can only be m; you'd understand if you saw it clearly. I think the photos tell most of the story. Antique hallmarked silver 'lemon' spoon ? 1916
Hallmarked silver spoon London c.1916. An unusual. Nearly flat spoon described at an estate auction as a'lemon' spoon. I can't imagine the relevance of that and would appreciate any input by those knowledgeable in early silver flatware. The spoon section is quite large. 2.75" or 7 cm in diameter with a lip all around raised just about 3/32" or 3 mm. Overall length including the twist handle and ball finial is 7.5" or 19 cm. Weight is around 48 g. Clear hallmarks except for the maker's mark which is hard to decipher. In very good condition. This is a nice old pair of glove stretchers and a button hook. Both hallmarked Sterling, Chester 1907 and in overall good condition. Christopher Dresser Design Arts and Crafts Claret Jug Decanter circa 1890.
This Arts and Crafts claret jug is in excellent condition. The glass has no cracks or chips and the silver plate is exceptional. There is no fading or rub marks, it is nearly as good as the day it left the workshop. The hinge works beautifully and all the metal work is straight with no dents. The jug is in the style of Dr Christopher Dresser. The only factory marks are a 1 stamped on the inside of the lid(see picture 7) And a corresponding 1 stamped on the rim(see picture 8) There is a 5 stamped on the hinge that can also be seen in picture 8. The jug is 230 mm high(23 cm) This jug is a classic and wonderful piece of original Arts and Crafts. Postage in Australia would be about $24. International postage calculated on postal address.
