The body of this piece is plain and unembellished with a plain applied moulded rim. The shallow sides of the central panel that runs along the length of the dish flare subtly at either end towards each handle. This piece is fitted with impressive turned Art Deco style handles. It dates to 1822, that makes this 192 years old, truly amazing, think what the world was like when a child used these and how our lives have so drastically changed? The flatware handles are fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1822. The forks upper is fully hallmarked, most likely for Sheffield 1818 while the knife blade is simply marked with Lion Passant and Duty Mark. Tle Maker appears to be S.H. or H.S. but as you understand, it is slightly rubbed. The handles are monogrammed KVS. The unique handle pattern is conjoined thistle, rose and cloverleaf emblems. Overall condition: The fork has a few tiny digs and denting to handle and some minor kinking to the prongs. Considering hoe old this matching REGENCY PERIOD SILVER SET IS, the condition is rather good, ... moreas so many of these piece were stolen, melted down and are just gone. The knife, naturally has some wear to the blade, a few digs and denting, with a darker bit of tarnish, to a small spot on the blade. There's a tiny ding to the handle near the monogram. The raised floral and foliage decoration is crisp with no breaks. Dents or other damage, but any hallmarks/ makers marks are virtually rubbed off. There is only a faint triangular shaped hallmark still visible. The inside of the tongs is washed with gold vermeil.

Very detailed Sterling Silver sugar tongs made by Elizabeth Eaton in 1846. Hallmarked with the London Assay mark with lion passant and letter that corresponds with that year. In original order with no repairs. Beautifully decorated with bright cut decoration. Measures 10.5 cm in length. Although later than Hester Bateman. It is nice to see the work of a fellow female silversmith. Elizabeth Eaton work is often characterized by her fine decoration and this piece certainly typifies this. Up for sale is a rare hallmarked Chester silver hand mirror with the date stamp of 1906 and makers mark WJM& Co. Heavily decorated with roses. Clover and thistles. Base of handle has had a ding and monogram plate on back has a few dints. No splits or breaks to silver. Mirror has a stable crack on the bottom of the bevelled edge. Also has some foxing and marks to foil mirror back. It is still special and displays well. Mirror is 27cm long and 10.5cm wide. A very special highest grade silver footed decorative footed dish. Featuring both repousse and elaborate chased embelished decoration. Made most certainly in the Middle East. The piece is unmarked, but tested and is over 950/1000 parts silver purity, it is a truly an exquisite piece. This item has a higher silver standard. Being 950 plus, instead of typical sterling silver, which is only 925. The condition as you can see is good. There are ever slight visivle imprints, from the legs underneath. There is also a very tiny, but very deliberate drain hole to the centre, this is how the piece was made and it is nearly impossible to see. Obviously created this way for a reason, possibly for draining foods, such as olives, fruits etc. If you know, I'd love to hear details from you!
