Rare and Stunning- Creamer& Lidded Sugar Bowl- Sanssouci Germany; numbered. Absolutely gorgeous green& floral backdrop to a Victorian dressed couple. On the Creamer. They are pictured outside- he is a formal long tailed outfit with knickers and she in her long dress is seated on a bench. The rest of the vase has beautiful bunches, and some singles, of blue, pink, orange, purple flowers; accented with green leaves. It has gold accents on the handle, the edge of the spout and on different sections of the creamer highlighting the green coloring on various sections of the creamer. The sugar bowl has 2 different scences in which the couple is shown. One is standing in front of a body of water with a bridge and the other one she is seated and he is standing. There is some loss/worn of gold trim color on certain small sections of each piece. ... moreOn the bottom of the each rim there are a few tiny rough spots to the touch. They both have the older crown, crossed lines and a large R and C in dark green on either side with SANSSOUCI stamped underneath. It is numbered by hand, 2321-15, and has the word Germany stamped in Red on the bottom of each piece. The symbols on the bottom of the sugar bowl clear and are a little worn off on the bottom of the creamer. The bowl is about 4 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide on the bottom. Two tones of purple violets on a background of a multi-tone natural golden amber colors in very good condition. Excellent condition-No cracks. Chips, fleabites or repairs. All pieces including the sugar dish lid have gold gilt which does show wear overall on all pieces. Both creamer and sugar dish are marked on the bottom in green with Hand Painted which is surrounded by a very detailed scrolling design. There is also a number on the bottoms of CY916 and an impression which is the mold marking of an underlined 1003. A 4 underneath that on the sugar dish and a 5 underneath the mold mark on the creamer. The sugar dish measures 3.75 inches tall with the lid on and is 4 inches diameter at it's widest point not including the handles. Up for sale are 7 antique or vintage porcelain creamers of various make and age. In the front row left the manufacturer's mark is unreadable and there is a small chip on the rim(pic 3) Marks for others are as follows: photo 5 for middle row left. Photo 6 for middle row right, photo 7 for back row left, no mark for back row middle and photo 8 for back row right. Photo 9 shows creamer on back row left, photo 10 shows that there is some wear to the porcelain on the edge. The back row right creamer has a chip on the edge by the handle, see photo 11. Photo 12 shows a clear view of creamer middle left; this creamer has a hairline crack on the bottom so that it weeps after a while. The tallest creamer is the one in the back middle and the shortest the creamer in the front row right. The markings show a crown over a B in shield mark and Royal Rudolstadt Prussia This stands for Beyer& Bock a company that was in buiness in Volkstedt. Thuringia Germany from 1853 ro 1960. It was founded as a decorating company and bagan decorating porcelain afte 1890. The company was nationalized in 1960 and became Porclain Factory Rudlostadt Volkstedt. Germany, by Lehmann& Sohn(Lehmann& Son) in the late 1800's. Cream and a soft green foliage with peach roses cover the front while the back has has a single foliage. A rare treasure for a collector. MEASUREMENTS: Creamer 3 1/4" including handle. 2 5/8" base, 2" tall; Sugar Dish 3 7/8"w handle to handle, 3 1/4" base, 3 1/2" tall including lid. HISTORY: LEHMANN& SOHN. G.A. Although unmarked in any way. This set is most certainly of German origin. The oval, open sugar measures 2 5/8 x 2 1/4" and stands 1 5/8" high. The matching creamer stands 2 3/4" tall. You are bidding on a lovely. Antique, hand painted, porcelain creamer/pitcher with lid that measures 2 5/8" in diameter and stands 4 7/8" tall to the top of the lid finial. As seen, it is a wonderful, olive, green color with lots of gold gilding. It shows age-appropriate wear with just the tiniest, pinpoint nip on the top rim. It is at 6 o'clock in my last photo and is not readily seen but must be mentioned. There are no cracks, hairlines, or repairs. It looks German, possibly Royal Bayreuth.
