The glass is cracked on the right side of the top portion of the cabinet(as you can see in the picture) It is taped- but still holds much weight. And. The glass is missing on one of the sides. This is a lighted display, but I don't know if it's working. Some of the red velvet lining is in decent condition, and some is not. Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Cabinet 4 Drawers & Frame Sphinx 1899
These Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine let and right cabinets with 2 drawers each from a Sphinx machine serial#16687005 dated 1899 has been gently restored. It should be noticed the brass handles are supposed to be slightly different top and bottom to each side. What does gently restored mean? The overall objective is to preserve as much as the old tool or item with its lifetime patina as possible without the use of power tools. Metal is typically initially cleaned using mineral oil. Or a weak solution of washing soda and water and if necessary brief electrolysis to remove and or convert rust to black oxide. Whichever method is best, a scotch brite plastic cleaning pad is used with water so the underlying metal is not damaged. A heat gun is immediately used to blow dry and eliminate moisture which is followed by a hand rubbed coat of ... moremineral oil. After letting the oil“soak in” for a day or so, the item is wiped cleaned then hand rub in bees wax to seal it. A weak solution of oil soap and water is used to remove grime, old oils and dirt from wood which is air or blowed dry with a heat gun. This is followed by a hand rub of“feed and wax" If the situation requires it, a soft brass bristle brush or“0000” steel wool is used occasionally. A couple of items should be noted. The first is this gentle process may not remove all rust or dirt, etc, as there is always a balance of limiting restoration to not affect patina. The second is that tools and items are not conditioned for use such as sharpening, tightening or replacement of parts. This is left up to the judgement of the new owner as there is a large range of utilization of older tools. Lastly, the item may have residual oil left in the cleaning process. This can be wiped off but the item may benefit from an additional application of clear oil to further enhance and stabilize the item for extended life. The front of the drawers are just beautiful. The lettering can still be faintly seen on the front of the drawers. Drawers are all intact and there is no missing parts with this case. I just wiped the case down with Murphy's wood soap and orange oil and put some Liquid Gold polish on it. The door pulls appear to be like a black porcelain. Great brass trim detailing around each of the pulls. I see no evidence that this case ever had the Eagle labels on it. Looks like the two bottom drawers had pulls on each end at one time and the drawer pull was moved to the center. Where the wood is seamed can be seen at the top of the cabinet. Very nice vintage wood jewelry box in very good condition. It is apx 9 3/4" tall. 8" wide and almost 5 1/2" deep. It has 3 doors on the top behind the mesh doors and 1 larger drawer on the bottom. It is musical and plays when the bottom drawer is opened. It has no cracks or scratches and the drawers are lined with a gold color velveteen. They velveteen has a few minor spots, which I have highlighted with a flash photo, but they are not nearly as noticable without the flash photo. The jewelry box measures approximately 9 inches long, 10 1/4 inches high and 4 5/8 inches from front to back. It has been very gently used. There are some scratches in the wood on the top. The inside of the drawers need a little dusting. The glass has a floral pattern, in relief, on the outside of glass. There are no markings as to the manufacturer or country of origin.

Up for sale is this vintage. Probably 1970's, walnut wood musical jewelry box by Price Imports Japan, This jewelry box is made to resemble a dresser. Details: This is a jewelry box with music. When you open the bottom drawer a song will play. I am not sure what the song is. The box has its original price tag which reads: Price Imports. Japan. The box itself measures approximately 10 1/2" long X 5" wide X 6 1/2" high. The box has 4 drawers. Two are small on the top( they measure 1 1/2"high X"4 1/2" long from front to back X 4 1/2" wide. The other two drawers are large and they measure 9" long X" 3 1/2 wide X 1 1/2" high. There are 6 antique brass knobs on the drawers. One on each of the small drawers and two on the two large drawers. The drawers are lined in a gold velvet and the velvet ... moreis clean. Condition: The box is in very good condition and clean. I only see one very small scratch on the top which you cannot feel with your finger. One small scratch on a corner on the top and down the front side of the dresser there is some minor wear on the wood. There is a number 4 written on the back part in ink. Very nice Wooden Jewelry Box/ Holder with 4 drawers and rotating necklace hanger. The hanger is inside a felt lined compartment. This compartment has a very nice door with glass. The glass has a very nice raised flower design. See Photos) The jewelry box is in great shape and has very minor scratches and flaws. It is 9" X 10.5" X 4.5" in size and weighs 3 l bs- 12 oz. This is a very nice looking Jewelry Box. Sits so nice on most Dresser.The clock works fine. It will come with the batteries that are in it. It does have some flaws which I captured in the pictures.
