113 year old Glass Candlestick, commemorating Knights Templar of Pittsburg, PA
This clear glass candlestick was made for"Tancred Commandery No. 48 Knights Templar of Pittsburgh.Pa. to commemorate their trip to the 28th"Triennial Conclave in Louisville, Ky. on August 27- 29, 1901. Antique Bohemian Ruby Red etched Glass wood base Hurricane Lamps pair 11" tall
Bellport Jewelers& Rarities 631-286-7700 Description. Antique Ruby Red Bohemian Cut Glass in a very dramatic floral design. Tall Hurricane style Candle Holders with dark wood bases. They have a brass insert to hold the candle in place. Wood Base is approx. 6 1/2" wide X 11" height. The Hurricane Glass is approx. 4 3/4" on top(tapers in a little then opens at base) is approx. 9" height. One of the wood bases is in great shape and the other one is a bit loose- the bottom is like a cork and you screw it into the bottom base- this part is a bit loose- although just now I twisted it and it's in there tight. Point is though if you were to move these and weren't aware of the way the bases come apart you could wind up breaking the glass in moving them so use caution. They are amazingly beautiful and came out of an ... moreestate where most of the items sold in auction for thousands of dollars. Original period- they are dusty- nothing has been done to them other than the felts on the bottoms. I do not see any chips or scratches- still some wax in both. I note a few areas where the red is not perfect probably from candle flame but overall it is minor. They look fabulous. Vintage Pair Art Deco Candlesticks Reverse Painted w/Sterling Silver
This listing is for a vintage pair of matched Art Deco Candlesticks or Candle Holders. Made of pressed glass. They are reverse painted in a dark orange(some might lean towards reddish-orange) and each candlestick has a sailing ship with seagulls painted on both the front and back sides of the base in sterling silver with a silver band at the base. The paint is in excellent condition with no wear. The sterling ships and bottom rim have very very minor wear, with the word"sterling" There are no chips, dings or cracks. They do need to be lightly cleaned. They are 8.5" tall and 4.5" across at the base. Just a lovely, rich color and in beautiful condition. Lot of 4 Antique American Glass Candlesticks
This is a lot of 4 antique glass candlesticks. They were purchased at various Western PA antique markets back in the early 1070's($10 to $20 a piece) by my mother who enjoyed the various forms of candlesticks. One stick has the clasical hour glass shape. Another looks more like the arts and crafts style. All have 6 sided bases and measure from 6" to 9" The tall candlestick actually could be made into a small lamp, as it has a hole that runs all the way through the middle of the stick. I don't know the pattern, but it was made in this plain smooth top rim and also the coin edge type top rim edge/side. Please Note: The American Jersey Folk Art scent bottle with Swan finial and the Blue Flared Lip Pitkin Flask are not for sale. They are there to show the contrast of color. This Georgian candlestick measures 27.5cms high by 18.2cms wide at the foot. The candlestick has been made in several parts ei:7 sections. It has a folded foot with a round outward folded lip. There are many inclusions in the glass including several randomly spread air bubbles within the glass. I have seen candlestick examples of this type in clear glass only and this is the first Teal blue I've come across. I have started the bidding at a very reasonable price. Condition: Inside lip fault line as shown in my pictures. This fault cannot be felt from outside or inner lip. There is one rounded end of a crimp missing which does not detract from its appeal. This stick is pictured in a reprinted ad on page 130 of the Archer's 1983 edition of"The Encyclopedia of Glass Candlesticks" where it is called"Manhattan" It has also been pictured in Belknap's'Milk Glass' and Millard's'Opaque Glass' The milk glass has a slight translucent quality and is less opaque than what we see in milk glass produced today. Height is 6.5" tall; base width is 3" Condition is excellent with some mold roughness on all edges which is often found in early glassware that was not fire polished. There are no cracks. Beautiful 18 th century iron and wood spiral candlestick in very fine condition…VERY minor checks in the wood base as you can see in my image; expected for an object from the 18 th century and having seen lots of use. It shows a hardwood base and an iron spiral terminating in a hook-like tail. The tail function was two-fold…a carrying handle which prevented your hand from hot wax and the hook could also be placed on a wall hook or the back of a chair. Etc. Ohio based Lotus Glass Company produced La Furiste in the 1920's and 1930's. Lotus made no glass; they embellished it. Overlays. Etchings, and colors were added to blanks received from glass manufacturers. La Furiste continues to be hard to find and much in demand with a unique etching has an appeal to Deco collectors. The sugar bowl base diameter is 2 1/4” and the height to top of handles is approximately 3 1/2” The sugar bowl does not have a top. The creamer base is 2" and the height is likewise 3 1/2" Both are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips or major ... moredefects in the gold banding.
