Antique Cut Crystal Silver Candelabra Sconces, maybe 19th Century, Need TLC
Amazing pair of OLD crystal sconces that were here when I bought my condo 12 years ago. Pair is the operative word. Really one and a half. The previous owners had very high-end antiques and left these on the wall. 27" tall x 16" wide. These are hard to capture in photos. No doubt these were very upscale in their day. There are various broken areas. I am not even sure I put the"good" display one together correctly, but I think it is. These have been sitting in the closet for years so I finally thought why not give a fun project to some Ebayer! Perhaps these are best parted-out. But seems like a waste for them to just be in a box. USA only! Thanks. Sconce 1) Good one. Various chips to"petals" the convex drip cups around candle holder) 2 petals missing. The reason the"petals" cracked is the candles burnt ... moretoo low and that was a bad thing! The offenders are still in place. However the piece shows very well and dramatically. An antique with antique qualities! Obviously would look better with tall candles in. Used as a single piece it could be an amazing accent to a narrow wall or column, as it is art in itself! Liberace would be proud! Sconce 2) Where to start. One arm completely missing. Top center star is affixed by what seems to be a thimble which was glued on as its mount. Accent star missing from one arm. And of course missing from missing arm. Photo with orange background shows its parts. Photo with me holding it shows it put together. What you see is what you get! Perhaps you can look at these as 1 good sconce and a project or parts item from the other! Also. A lovely pair of late 19th century molded Cambridge or Butler Bros. clear glass candlesticks. 7 1/8" tall. Tops are 2 1/4" square. Bases are approximately 3 1/4" square. And hollow 2 3/4" up from the bottom. Very fine condition. No damage from chips. Cracks or scratches. Mold lines can be seen as well as air bubbles. One bubble has risen to the surface at one of the top corners. Another at one side. Both are smooth from firing. I am not a glass expert. Pair Very Fine French Baccarat Glass 19th Century Figural Candlesticks Stapled
A pair of fine Baccarat glass candlesticks or centerpiece/epernge bases with bronze mounts in frosted and clear glass in the shape of a classical female figure. They measure 16 1/2" to the top of the mounts and diameter of the fluted and scalloped bases is 7 1/2" The quality of the glass is wonderful. Unsigned. But this work is typical of Baccarat manufacturing during this period. Unfortunately, both have broken and repaired bases, one with staples, which was an acceptable mode of repair in the late 19th early 20th century. The other one must have broken later and is badly repaired with glue and also has some loss. The tops of mounts have screws inside, which tells me that something is missing, either a bronze bobeche and candle cup if they were candlesticks, or the mount for a bowl if they were a centerpiece. Save for a tiny flake ... moreabove the head on one, the figural inserts are excellent. A visit to a good repair shop could yield something quite wonderful. In need of a bath and sold as is. Vintage 19th Century Girandole Brass Candelabra Candlesticks Basket of Flowers
Beautiful Antique Gold Gilt Brass Girandole pair of candlestick holders. Design is"Basket of Flowers" and dates mid 19th century during the Rococo Revival period which was characterized by curved silhouettes and ornate carvings. They were made by the Cornelius& Baker Company. Philadelphia but are not marked. The pair is extremely elegant and in excellent condition for its age. Each measures 14.50" tall and 4.50" in length by 2 5/8" deep at the base and each weighs just under 3 lbs. Both are in excellent condition, no missing parts. They make beautiful display pieces. Dependable service. Professional packing and great prices. Offered is a very rare pair of 19th century glass candleabras. No makers mark. Historically attributed to Baccarat. 17 inches tall. Original bobeches and candle sockets. As well as center peg. One candeabra has a different style of socket as you can see in the photos. There are threaded glass sockets on the base of one stick. There are no threaded glass sockets on the other. There are 6 missing prisms on one. The other has all its prisms. The prisms are the spearhead style. Some normal small dings on the prisms. One center glass socket is chipped on the underside. Normal straw marks. Air bubbles and wear ... moreunder the base. These are extremely heavy with each candleabra weighing over 6 pounds. The mold work on the candlestands is outstanding. These were purchased at separate times. One was purchased in the late 1990's and it took us 15 years to locate the mate for it. These are spectacular as a pair! All glass and pottery items are carefully bubble wrapped. We will gladly double box on request for an extra charge to cover increased postage fees and materials. This is a pretty rare pair of pressed petal candlesticks featured in Joan Kaiser's book on South Boston glass houses and their attributed items. This pair is a wonderful pale violet that look great on display. I haven't come across another set of these other than in the book. They stand 7 1/2" inches and are in great shape with minor chipping to the underside of the rims. You have to really be looking.
