The Candlestick is part of a large and extensive set up for auction. If you wanted to have a look at my other items. The Candlestick is very finely made throughout and of a great Art Deco design. I was told the Candlestick was made by Moser in the earlier 1900s period and is a very rare find. The Candlestick is unmarked as I believe the earlier examples never were. As you can see the Candlestick has a finely etch decorated band with a nice scrolling design which is identical to that of the Moser Splendid glasses more commonly found in a clear color with gilding. I was unable to find anything like this set mostly being colored. Also leading me to believe it is also rarely seen. Another nice feature of the Candlestick is within the etched splendid design there is also nice multi colored enamel work. The top rim is also gold gilt, and the Candlestick is of top quality throughout. The Candlestick is in excellent all original condition with some wear to the Gold Band but no chips, cracks or repairs. The Candlestick is a nice impressive example to be displayed measuring 6-3/4 inches long and standing 4-3/4 inches tall. I believe it could be some time before you see an

Awesome set of original mercury glass candle holders. Which i would estimate from the 1920's. Originated from Charles Mayer& Company Indianapolis. Box is not musty smelling, so that tells me these holders have been taken care of over the years. There are no chips, cracks or fractures! The only blemish is where the silver has worn away from the mirrored backing, which you can see in my photos. I think that only lends to the charm of these. Measures 4" tall x 4.5" wide at base. The painted design is on a matte finish while the rest of the piece is a reflective silver. It has been in our family since the 1970s-80s. The painted design around the holder portion has faded with age and handling and some of the paint has worn off. It's been in the family many generations- really not sure how far back it goes- at least to the early'20s and maybe way further. It has a rough feel to the top of the base and each spiral but is smooth underneath. I thought because of this rough feeling and yellow color it was vaseline glass. But after reading about vaseline glass I really can't say. Anyone out there know anything about this? The base measures 5-inches across and it is 3-inches in height. There are a number of air bubbles in the base. Right under the top lip on one side there is a 5/8-inch chip. Which you can see in one of the photos. It has a blown hollow base which is cut with notches and a faceted stem. It has a brass connector which joins it to a nice cut socket. It has three ribbed scrolled attached feet. I am questioning if this might be a Boston and Sandwich Glass piece from the 1880s. If anyone who recognizes this and knows the maker would care to share the information I would enjoy hearing from you. The quality of the glass and cut decoration is top end. It measures roughly 8" tall x 4 1/4" wide. The condition is excellent. Thick green glass top is and inverse fluted bell shape, with a raised painted design in cream, very light pink, and gold paint. The charming scene is a wreath of leaves with squirrels and winged angels or cherubs. Each squirrel is different as is each cherub, this was clearly entirely hand painted, free hand artistry. No one who's seen it ... morehas ever seen anything like it before. The large glass shade is open at the top, and I place a battery operated candle in it with a timer, so it turns off and on automatically. It could certainly be wired for use as a lamp. The light coming through the green glass is truly beautiful. It is a tall and heavy piece at almost 2 feet. The top is attached to the brass base which resembles an architectural column with ancient capital on top. There is a little bit of play here at the union of top and bottom, but is secure. I also use tacky wax to hold the glass shade portion to the metal piece it sits on to keep it from moving(especially here in CA) This is lovely on a mantel, entry way or hallway to give a soft and colorful light at night instead of a lamp or nightlight. Beautiful antique cobalt glass candle holder or candlestick. Please read measurements as the camera tends to distort the length as well as base width. Heavy solid glass. The candlestick is over 2 pounds. Measuring 10-1/8" high, with a base of just over 5" across. It is 4-3/4" across the handles, and 3" across the top. The silver is thin. Not overlay or on-lay, it might be called silver deposit or silver resist but I am not sure. It was done with a process that leaves a thin shade of silver as though it was transferred onto the glass.
