Rare Antique Winchester#1335 Brass Fly Fishing Reel. Circa Early 1900's For the fly fisherman who has everything. I am pleased to offer you a rare piece of American fly fishing history. A beautiful antique Winchester#1335 Solid Brass Trout Fly Fishing Reel in extraordinary fine condition! This reel is a true gem and was part of an estate auction of an avid fly fisherman. This reel dates back to the early 1900's and is constructed of a solid brass caged frame. Foot and spool with wood handle. It is in exceptionally fine condition and doesn't appear to have any damage. The pillars are solid. The drag switch is firm and slides back and forth from silent"free spool" to"click" effortlessly. The click sound works in both directions when engaged, but doesn't make the sound continuously on a full revolution of ... morethe spool. From what I can tell it may need cleaned or adjusted because there doesn't appear to be any obvious damage to the cog or clicker. There is no drag brake. The drag would be controlled by the palm of your hand, which is typical of this vintage. This reel is universal and can be used as a left or right hand retrieve. The outer diameter of the reel is approximatley 2-1/2" and the overall width is approximately 1" The reel weighs approximately 4 ounces. This reel would probably be close to a 3/4 WT fly reel by today's standards. Even has what appears to be a vintage fly line although I doubt it's the same age as the reel. Lines in the early 1900's were usually made of horse hair. This line appears to be made of a synthetic fiber, but I'm not certain. This reel is offered in it's natural state as when I bought it. I have not cleaned, lubricated or altered the reel in any way and I'm offering it"as is" and as shown in photos. Anstead and published in 1900 by William Pilling. New York. Printed on slick paper. Good condition with a staple mark in the center of the spine, which has been partially reattached at the top& bottom with archival tape. UNUSUAL VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER BRITANNIA SPOON ANTIQUE 1900
A very interesting Victorian sterling silver spoon. It is hallmarked for London 1900 with the maker’s marks being CS FS for Saunders and Shepherd. Its terminal is in the form of Britannia on top of a trident. I do not know why it was made but most likely to commemorate an event or perhaps to show patriotism during the Boer War period. It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures 4.5 inches(11.3cms) long and weighs 9 grams. An interesting Victorian example. This is a cute antique brass pig tape measure. Probably for sewing in the early 1900's. It's tail winds and unwinds the tape. The pig is 2" long by 3/4" wide and 1" tall. This listing is for an extremely clean A. C. Fairbanks mandolin. All original, set up and ready to play. From online articles, and some ebay friends, I've determined this must have been built around 1900. There are no cracks or damage. The action is smooth all the way up the neck. Not too shabby for 110+ years! Very nice ivoroid-black-ivoroid binding, and the brazilian rosewood is just naturally stunning. The sound is not quite as loud as a modern carved-top mando. But the tonal range is very nice- with a good resonance and a bright, clear voice. The number 60, stamped on the back of the head, apparently indicates this is the Regent style. This clear bottle is in good condition for it's age, there are lots of bubbles in the glass, which is natural. There is a long bubble right under the neck that looks like a crack, but it is just a bubble. There is a notched pouring spout and there is a tiny chip on the end of it, and a flaw in the glass near the spout. There is wonderful embossing on the front that reads"Dr. L.D. Antique Mantle Wood Early 1900's Not Refinished
I am selling an early 1900's Wood Mantle as shown in above picture. It is competely authentic and not re-finished like some of the others you see. I am pricing this piece to sell as soon as possible because frankly I need the money and it's taking up a lot of space in my garage. I haven't taken measurements but it's taller than me and I'm 6'3" I'd estimate about 6'8" tall and 6' wide. This thing is huge and was a pain in the butt moving. It is heavy that's why I am selling cheaply and as PICK UP ONLY. Compare the price on this to some of the others. I have been selling on ebay for over 8 years now. But I've never sold anything like this and not anything nearly this big. It came out of a home built in 1898 that I own. Another cool old sepia photograph similar in age to the one I currently have listed. This too is from the Mideast. India is my guess, as that is where my other listed photo is from. This is an architectural shot of a Mosque, which one I have no idea. It measures 4 1/2" by 3 1/3" It has a very Taj Mahal look to me. Condition is OK, not great. The photo has been affixed to a more modern piece of paper. The photo itself is brittle and thin, and has some creases and a 1 cm. tear just beginning on the bottom right side, no big deal if it is tended to ASAP by a pro. Needs to be matted and framed. Age is circa. 1900. This can't be a very commonplace item, and especially this Mosque, taken at this angle, that long ago, when travel to these areas was difficult. Old Baltimore Habor C 1900 Tin Flame Tipped Roof Finial - flame tip - REDUCED
Finial size = 22 inches square x 24 inches high. As the story was told to me. This old tin finial, along with several other very similar decorative finials, once graced the roof-line of an old building in the city of Baltimore. Supposedly, the building was built in the early 1900's not far from the docks that connected Baltimore to the Atlantic Ocean by way of the Chesapeake Bay. Unfortunately, many years later the building was abandoned and soon fell into disrepair. Somewhere around the early 1980's, the structure was torn down to make way for sweeping renovations that eventually became what many of us now know as Baltimore's Inner Harbor. To get back to the story, a group of these finials were loaded into a scrap bin, destined for the salvage yards. It was nothing but pure luck that they were spotted by one of the construction ... moreworkers who pulled the battered metal pieces from the ruins and took them home. These pieces were never repaired or put to use by the man who saved them and it wasn't until after his death that they were uncovered once again. This time the old finials were found inside several large cardboard boxes that had been tucked away under a workbench in the garage of the man who found them. The garage was part of his estate and became the property of his only son. Sometime later, they ended up here with me. There is no doubt that time left its mark on these old pieces of tin. Their paint has peeled and the metal has nearly all separated at the joints. These pieces were in rough shape when they were first found and in even rougher shape when they finally got to me. Even so, when I saw them, I decided they were too nice to throw away. In the end I came to the conclusion that the only way these finials could be restored without destroying their natural patinas with the heat and other preparation it would take to solder or weld them back together was to glue them. The 5 trunks range in size from the largest measuring 40' X 24' X 22' to the smallest measuring 31' X 17' X 13' These antique trunks all have most, if not all of their original keys, drawers, as we'll as all original hardware. Meaning that they could be removed as a single intact sheet. The double maps have a single fold in the center. The single-page maps have no folds at all. Condition The overall condition of the maps is very good/ excellent. The colors are bright and vibrant and the quality of the printing is excellent. There is the occasional spot in the margins ... moreof a few of the maps. And on a few maps, there is a small closed tear in the in margin, at the fold, that has been professionally repaired from behind. ALL THESE MAPS ARE PRINTED ON ONE SIDE ONLY. Remarks These maps are from the Second Edition of. Many of the maps are based on maps that first appeared in Richard Andree's Algemeiner Hand-Atlas(Leipzig. 1880s) which is considered one of the most visually pleasing atlases from the late 19th century. The maps are finely detailed and the printing is sharp and crisp with no off-setting. The paper is heavy and still quite bright, with only minor even age-toning to the extremes of the margins. Antique Early 1900's Golden Gem Automatic Adding Machine
Check out this sweet antique Golden Gem Automatic Adding Machine. Manufactured in the very early 1900's(circa 1907) this was basically a very primitive calculator. Relatively small in size. This would have fit nicely in sophisticated gentleman's coat pocket back in the day. Who needs an IPad when you can have one of these bad boys? Makes a very cool display piece. The machine consists of eight rows of numbers ranging from 1 to 9. Beside each row is a small chain. Which when moved with a stylus or other small instrument, changes the numbers along the machine's top row. We're not exactly sure how you' actually calculate anything on this, but it does appear to be in working order. There's also a brass reset button on the lower right that, when turned resets the top row of numbers to all zeroes. Cool huh? Has two folding ... morelegs on the sides that allows you to stand the machine up. As seen in the photographs. The legs work great and can be folded up and down very easily. Finally, etched into the machines lower front surface is the following patent information: Pat. Mar.1-04- Mar. 27- 06- Mar.19-07. United States and Foreign Patents Pending. Machine is being sold as is. We’ve tested it and it seems to still be fully functional. But we're not 100% certain. Measurements(When lying flat. With legs not extended) 4” tall x 5.5" Wide(including reset knob) x 1" Thick. Item Condition- Great vintage condition! Has a wonderfully weathered patina with spots of light rust and light scuff marks peppering the machine's surface. One small screw is missing on the lower left front side. This does not appear to impact the machine's functionality. Could use a good cleaning. Unless of course you're like us and love the"dirty look. Please refer to the pictures for further details. VINTAGE COMPTOMETER EARLY 1900'S
This is a Vintage Comptometer that was manufactured in the United States of America by Felt& Tarrant Mfg. Co. out of Chicago. The last patent date on this C-model was 1910. Because this machine is over a 100 years old. It is harder to find, especially in this good working condition. There are some signs of wear on the keys. But t here are no breaks or cracks in the small display windows. Later models of these"shoebox" units were in use by major corportations throughout the U.S. until the 1970's. It has great patina as seen in the pictures. the dusting and cleaning will be left to the new owner! Get in on a piece of U.S. history. Good Luck on your bidding.
