Antique Cut Crystal Silver Candelabra Sconces, maybe 19th Century, Need TLC
Amazing pair of OLD crystal sconces that were here when I bought my condo 12 years ago. Pair is the operative word. Really one and a half. The previous owners had very high-end antiques and left these on the wall. 27" tall x 16" wide. These are hard to capture in photos. No doubt these were very upscale in their day. There are various broken areas. I am not even sure I put the"good" display one together correctly, but I think it is. These have been sitting in the closet for years so I finally thought why not give a fun project to some Ebayer! Perhaps these are best parted-out. But seems like a waste for them to just be in a box. USA only! Thanks. Sconce 1) Good one. Various chips to"petals" the convex drip cups around candle holder) 2 petals missing. The reason the"petals" cracked is the candles burnt ... moretoo low and that was a bad thing! The offenders are still in place. However the piece shows very well and dramatically. An antique with antique qualities! Obviously would look better with tall candles in. Used as a single piece it could be an amazing accent to a narrow wall or column, as it is art in itself! Liberace would be proud! Sconce 2) Where to start. One arm completely missing. Top center star is affixed by what seems to be a thimble which was glued on as its mount. Accent star missing from one arm. And of course missing from missing arm. Photo with orange background shows its parts. Photo with me holding it shows it put together. What you see is what you get! EAPG Crystal Clear Large 2 Light Candelabra This very handsome candelabra dates from the Colonial Revival period of 1895-1910. It is unmarked but Heisey or Westmoreland come to mind as probable makers. The bobeches each have ten prisms. Spear points and U drops alternate and all appear to be original and old. It disassembles into seven different pieces. The pieces connect with threaded metal collars. Condition: Very good. There are two chips on the base of one candle cup. The tops of the both candle cups have been ground. I believe to remove other chips. There are flea bites on the ground edges. The prisms have the expected flea bites and tiny chips. All else is flaw free. Dimensions: 19 1/4" tall. 14 3/4" wide. Take a good look at the photos. They constitute the remainder of our description. It would need to be repaired before you would light candles in it. See the fourth to last photo. Each of the six bobeche pieces at the base of where the candle would sit has ten prisms(when all are present) There are four prisms missing and two prisms have missing lower teardrop hanging pieces. Some of the other prisms have chips and dings. They are unusual prisms in that they are faceted at the bottom. LOVELY. This set needs a good cleaning.I'll leave that to the buyers. Just purchased this set this weekend at an estate auction in New Hampshire. This is the second one I have ever found. 15" tall and 14" wide Interesting that the tops screw off of the bases. Up for bids is a Beautiful Antique Brass& Crystal 3 Arm Candelabra. The candelabra depicts a Civil War or American Revolution Period. It has a peg leg Soldier with a child. Both holding rifles. The marble base shows discoloration with a few white spots. I don't know for sure this is chips out of the marble or due to age. The crystal prisms do have chips on them. There were that way when I purchased this piece. I bought it from an estate sale in Historic Canton, Ms. The prisms on the left& right are 5" long and the ones in the center are 6" long. All of the prisms have the snow flake design. Each arm has holes to hold 10 prisms but it came with only five each. This is a very extraordinary piece that depicts our American History. Three arms extend out and have decorative bobeche and 25 1/2 hanging crystal prisms(missing 4 1/2) The crystal prisms have one small square broken. One has missing small square, and one is missing metal hook. The base is an ornate flower basket with ideal patina. Dates 19th century. Measures approximately 17 inches wide by 17.5 inches tall. The marble base measures approximately 4 inches deep by 6 inches wide. It weighs approximately 8 pound 1 ounce. I will remove the crystals and they will be individually wrapped for shipment. Rare Daum Crystal Tree Candelabra Large 15 1/2 Inches Tall & 11 3/4 Pounds
Here we have a unique and rare Daum Crystal Fir Tree or Pine Tree sculpture. What makes this piece so different is that it is also a candelabra. It is elegant. Heavy, and grand. It stands aprox 15 1/2 inches tall& very heavy with a weight of around 11 3/4 pounds. This piece is estate fresh& vintage. You see the Daum crystal trees come to market from time to time but I have never seen the candelabra combination. It is truly stunning. In good vintage condition. There are metal disk inside the candle cups that have wear& discoloration from use. I would guess these disk are in place so if the candle gets too low it will not crack the crystal. There are some tiny flea bites around candle cup rims. There are production stretch marks as you go up to each layer that must be due to the formation of this piece. In addition, I see two points ... morethat I am unsure if they were smoothed at some point. Please see the last two photos. What an amazing creation. Shipping via FedEx with signature service only.
