This auction is for a pair of candlesticks that each hold two candles. ... moreMade of cut crystal and ormolu or dore, in other words, gold over bronze. These are quite decorative with a clear theme of birds; one on top of each one in the center, perched on the faceted crystal ball, and the supports for the candle cups look like long necks and bird heads. The bases are made of metal with paw feet but the stem is made of crystal. We couldn't find another pair like this one, not even half a pair. These are quite heavy for their size, about 13 or 14 ounces each, and each one stand approx. 9" tall and 5.5" wide, 3.5" deep. They show signs of a long life, chips on the crystal, including the missing corner on one of the two at the base, and multiple smaller chips elsewhere. There is also an overflow of something visible at the top of the crystal post on one of them that could indicate a repair. Despite these scars, the candlesticks are still beautiful and decorative. The holidays are right around the corner; wouldn't these be a great addition to your well dressed Thanksgiving table to hold your candles? It isn't likely that you will see another pair like these, and these will be available only for a short time, so

Unique Antique ETCHED GLASS CANDLESTICK Flowers Leaves
Up for bid is a lovely old candlestick found in the 1960s in the attic of an elderly lady. The glass is clear and sparkly with a sunburst design in the base and flowers and leaves etched into the stem. They are etched around the edges of the stem to give a three dimensional look to the designs– unique! The candlestick stands 8 ¼” high with a 4” square base and a 2” square top. The candle well is about 1” deep and about 7/8” in diameter. Beautiful old piece. But it was hard for me to photograph it well enough to show its beauty. At the buyer’s request. It is unmarked but Heisey or Westmoreland come to mind as probable makers. The bobeches each have ten prisms. Spear points and U drops alternate and all appear to be original and old. It disassembles into seven different pieces. The pieces connect with threaded metal collars. Condition: Very good. There are two chips on the base of one candle cup. The tops of the both candle cups have been ground. I believe to remove other chips. There are flea bites on the ground edges. The prisms have the expected flea bites and tiny chips. This is antique Victorian brass candle holder on a marble base 1852 Patent(signed on the back. Meaning it was made on or after 1852, in 19th century) with 7 glass prisms and the figure of John the Baptist holding a cross(could be another saint) it is a very beautiful ornate item. Candle holder has seven glass crystals and brass grapes surrounding the candle base.This is very unique item. On the top of the candle holder there is a glass vase with a candle. Pair of early antique figural pressed and cut glass candlesticks 19th
This is a pair of early pressed and cut glass figural candlesticks. There is a woman carrying a bucket and a man carrying a basket. The woman candlestick is 9 ½ inches high and the bottom is 4 3/8 inches in diameter. The man candlestick is 9 ¾ inches high and the bottom is 4 9/16 inches in diameter. The edges of the bottom of the candlesticks are cut. The figures are dressed in colonial dress. The cups are threaded so that something else may be attached. The candlesticks are unmarked. We believe they are American and date to the mid 19 th century. They are quite heavy weighing 7 lbs. The lady candlestick is heavier than the man. The woman candlestick has a frit on the cup at the top and on her left elbow. There is no other damage.

But they came from an estate full of vintage and antique glass. There's also the possibility they were hand-blown, as each has a polished oval shaped'bump' on the bottom where you'd find a pontil. Condition on each is great-no chips, cracks or damage to be noted but for a few bubbles in the glass. They've both got a honeycomb or diamond pattern, visible mostly on the cup and elongated on the body. The glass was so bright it was hard to catch the design, but it's fairly visible in pictures 3 and 5. Each stands 8.5" high ... moreand sits on a 6-sided base that's 3 7/8" across. All the photos were taken in natural light except for the second one, where they shout NEON GREEN under a blacklight. They're actually more of a greenish yellow than the green in the pictures.hard to get the color right when they glowed as soon as I brought them outside. Beautiful old set! Awesome set of original mercury glass candle holders. Which i would estimate from the 1920's. Originated from Charles Mayer& Company Indianapolis. Box is not musty smelling, so that tells me these holders have been taken care of over the years. There are no chips, cracks or fractures! The only blemish is where the silver has worn away from the mirrored backing, which you can see in my photos. I think that only lends to the charm of these. Measures 4" tall x 4.5" wide at base. There is some minor candle residue. Buyer to pay insurance.

The center spacer and base overlay are hand blown with applied raised ruffle ... moreswirls that are decorated with gold flecks, the lower set of spacers and the base are hand cut lead crystal, there is a partial label on 1 of the lustres which states that they are Imported lead crystal and hand cut, Each arm has 6 extra long and heavy zipper cut crystal prisms with a round faceted cut prisms. They are actually supposed to be 8 per arm, but I am missing 2 on each one. the top center dish has 6 pink crystal spear prisms with a round faceted crystal prism. Also pink, none are missing, 1 has some damage. The hand blown glass overlay on the base has a break with 2 sections of glass missing(see last photo) please see photos, the black cardboard candle sleeves have quite a bit of wear where the top layer has chipped off, or are chipped along the top edges. some rust on the inside rod from moisture and age, I just noticed that there is a chip to 1 section of the raised ruffles, not sure if an entire ruffle is missing or its just a chip, As with any old electric item this should be checked out by Electrician before using.
