A lovely pair of late 19th century molded Cambridge or Butler Bros. clear glass candlesticks. 7 1/8" tall. Tops are 2 1/4" square. Bases are approximately 3 1/4" square. And hollow 2 3/4" up from the bottom. Very fine condition. No damage from chips. Cracks or scratches. Mold lines can be seen as well as air bubbles. One bubble has risen to the surface at one of the top corners. Another at one side. Both are smooth from firing. I am not a glass expert. Unusual. Cast metal triple dolphin candelabra on a triangular base 9" in diameter. This piece, 14" tall, appears to be quite old and has a very dark finish on it, almost black, with three joyous dolphins their tails almost touching each other. Also know as Mercury Glass(or sometimes, Varnish Glass) is double-walled glassware with a silver coating inside the walls, similar to the silvering on a vacuum flask liner. The first patent for silvered glass was taken out in 1849 by Hale Thomson and Edward Varnish in England. Shortly afterwards, in 1855, Thomas Leighton of the New England Glass Company took out a patent in America. The demand for silvered glass led to production in glass-houses in England. Beautiful Pair Foval Opalescent Art Glass Candlesticks w/ Blue Spiral Threading. This is a wonderful pair of foval opalescent art glass candlesticks with applied blue trim and threading. One of Kovel's Antiques and Collectibles guide shows this exact pair illustrated as Fry Art Glass. Fry's foval candlesticks were made for only two years. 1926-1927 and typically decorated with delft blue threading or a jade green. There are no marks on the candlesticks so I am not attributing these to the H.C. Fry Glass Company. But they are certainly beautiful and wonderful quality and color. Each has a polished pontil and are in beautiful condition. No chips, or nicks. The pair are hand blown so do have a slight variation in size. They both stand approx. 10 5/8" tall. The bottoms almost look like a pineapple in the way they are cut! They are in great condition with just a tiny flake on the bottom corner of each one. Each have 14 cut glass prisms which all seem to be in good shape. These are heavy for their size and they stand 11 1/2" high. A very hard to find color in cut glass! This is a nice three piece console bowl and candlestick set. I believe it is from the 1940s or possibly 50s. It is in excellent condition and purchased at a local estate sale. It is a golden amber color. The pictures do not do it justice. It is decorated with a vertical round hobnail pattern along with a horizontal line pattern. The interesting pattern creates a sparkle when hit by light. Bowl is approx 9.5" wide and 5" tall. The candlesticks are approx. 6.5" tall. Everything about these candlesticks leads me to believe they are quite old.except the lack of wear to the base. I guess they could've sat on a mantle and not been used for a very long time. 15.00 Here is a wonderful pair of antique or vintage dolphin candlesticks. The pair are nicely detailed with molded scales and fins and detailed faces. The dolphins sit atop a double square pedestal base. With a lovely scalloped taper holder perched on the curve of the tail. The pair appear near perfect, save for a very small area of roughness to the top of the back fin on of one dolphin, which is likely a tiny chip. Nice pair of good quality glass candle sticks with an octagon base. Diamond shaped panels leading to the top which is octagon. The prism ring holds eight drop prisms which are 3 inches long. Prism ring is scalloped. One small chip is on the top of one prism ring(photo 6) The shades have elongated diamond pattern with a half diamond ridge on the scalloped edge. The insert holding the set together is brass. The height is 10 1/2 inches tall. Base is 3 3/4 inches. Shades are 4 inches in diameter. The Candlestick is part of a large and extensive set up for auction. If you wanted to have a look at my other items. The Candlestick is very finely made throughout and of a great Art Deco design. I was told the Candlestick was made by Moser in the earlier 1900s period and is a very rare find. The Candlestick is unmarked as I believe the earlier examples never were. As you can see the Candlestick has a finely etch decorated band with a nice scrolling design which is identical to that of the Moser Splendid glasses more commonly found in a clear color with gilding. I was unable to find anything like this set mostly being colored. Also leading me to believe it is also rarely seen. Another nice feature of the Candlestick is within the etched splendid design there is also nice multi colored enamel work. The top rim is also gold gilt, and the Candlestick is of top quality throughout. The Candlestick is in excellent all original condition with some wear to the Gold Band but no chips, cracks or repairs. The top edge around the rim has two sides that feel very rough so there are probably tiny chips that I am not able to see but I can feel. There is also a scratch in the piece about half way up from the base. I think you can see it best in the 2nd photo right under the lower spot of reflecting light. It can definitely be felt. Antique Ornate Brass Candle Stick Holders The offered lot is a beautiful matching pair of ornate vintage brass candle stick holders. The stands measure 16" tall. The base is 5-1/2" wide. The second tier is 3-3/4" wide and holds 16 2-part prisms, the third tier is 2-5/8" wide and holds 12 2-part prisms, the fourth tier is 1-3/4" wide and holds 8 2-part prisms, and the top section that holds the candle is 1-3/8" wide. Up for auction is a wonderful solid blue glass Coy fish candle holder that is in very nice condition. It measures 9 1/4" tall and the base is 4" There is one tiny dot to the very top of the holder. An imperfection of color in the making as you can see in the picture- Tiny, But there all the same. No chips. Cracks, Just simply Wonderful. May be a bit of candle wax.
