Description. This magnificent pair of antique George III cast sterling silver candlesticks has a baluster shaped form with a waisted knopped stem onto a shaped base. Crafted in the Rococo style. The waisted stem is encircled with impressive leaf and scroll decoration to the shoulders accented with a lobed design to the lower knop. The baluster shaped capitals are embellished with impressive layered graduating shell designs and are fitted with the original fully hallmarked detachable sconces. The sconces are encircled with scroll decorated rims. Accented with four stylised leaf motifs. The surface of each scone is embellished with a contemporary engraved crest depicting a double-headed eagle. Its wings displayed uplifted. The base of each candlestick has a quatrefoil shaped sunken well encompassed by further fine and impressive leaf and scroll detail. In the same design as the upper knop. The surface of one lobe of the well of each candlestick is ornamented with the identical crest to that of the sconce. Each base is encircled with scroll decoration to the shaped rim incorporating large scrolling leaf designs. These candlesticks were crafted by the renowned and important London silversmith Paul Storr. Condition These antique candlesticks are an exceptional gauge of silver. Exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The cast decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the rim of each base. And part hallmarks to the sleeve of each sconce are all very clear; the second portion of the maker's mark to one sconce sleeve is partially worn but remains legible. Authentic vintage piece purchased at a local estate sale of a big collector with most of the items ranging in age from the 1890s thru the 1930s. Condition: In good vintage condition. Pair of Portieux Mousquetaire (Musketeer) Candlesticks
The Pair of Vallerysthal/Portieux Mousquetaire(Musketeer) Candlesticks appear in the 1933 Catalog on page 131 and are give the number 1846. They are modeled after the 17th& 18th Century Flambouyant French Royal Musketeers that were both conspicious and daring in their dress. The candlesticks measure 10-1/2" tall and the base is 4-3/4" in diameter. On the base are 3 monsterous animal heads. The candlesticks are in excellent condition except for one candle holder with has some very shallow cracks. I do not know if they were caused in the moulding process cool down or caused by a candle that was used. The cracks do not impact the candlesticks in any way. Some of my amethyst bottles and glass are purpled from years of exposure to natural sunlight. Others have been purpled with the use of strong UV lights in a box…and some have been purpled by a process called“irradiation” which is a safe and permanent process which does the same thing as many years of exposure to natural sunlight, except much faster. To those"purists" who falsely believe that glass cannot turn this deep amethyst color naturally, I could take you to places where bottles and glass have turned this same shade of purple from being in the sunlight for many years

Central Glass T345 Chippendale candlesticks, pair
This auction is for a fabulous pair of T345 Chippendale 9 1/2 inch tall crystal candlesticks. 4 inch base. The bottoms are not scratched. Indicating these must not have been used very much! The quality of the glass is outstanding and would look great on your table! The only flaw I could find comes from the manufacturing process; one of the candle-cups is not aligned with the base. As shown in the photo. This pair could be Jefferson Glass Company circa 1915-1918 or Central Glass Works circa 1919– mid 1920s. Reference: The Glass Candlestick Book” Volume 1 and 2. As expected. They are decorated in the etched Wildflower pattern(3400/646) on the round base. And have gold gilding around the base and top. The candlesticks in this pattern were first introduced in 1937 and were discontinued in 1958. During the period from 1949 to 1953 the Wildflower pattern was enhanced with the addition of encrusted gold and gold edging. An 1890's Art Nouveau Egyptian Revival Console Suite; consisting of a pair of candlesticks and a centerpiece bowl. The bowl can be used with or without the glass frog insert for flower arranging. BEAUTIFUL TEAL BLUE SANDWICH? GLASS 7 INCH CANDLESTICKS EIGHTEENTH CENTURY? NR
This auction is for a pair of 7 inch teal blue candlesticks. Which I suspect were made at the Boston and Sandwich Glass factory, which existed here on Cape Cod in the nineteenth century. I bought them from a very elderly lady who said they were her grandmother's. They also look like the Sandwich candlesticks I have had, though I don't recognize this pattern. The bases are ground flat, and they are hexagonal. Three seams extend upward from the base to the top of the sockets. The corners of the hexagonal base have lines going up to the socket on both sticks, and you can feel the three seams of the mold on the outside of the candlesticks when you rub these line with your fingertips. Every other line has a raised prominence, and you can see the seams on the inside. There is a definite chip, a very small one fleabite size, on the top edge ... moreof the bottom rim on one of the candlesticks. There are rough spots on the vetical edges of the hexagonal base, but most of this roughness occurs in the middle of the vertical edges, right where the side points of the diamond motif meet. I think most of this roughness is from the factory, and it's because of the design. I'm not at all sure the roughness on the vertical edges is damage at all, but the small chip on the top edge of the base is damage for sure. If you study the detail photos of the base, you'll see what I mean. I see some'straw marks' in the glass, but there is little wear to the candlesticks, not even to the base. This is a beautiful pair of antique etched cranberry glass hurricane shades on clear dolphin bases with 8 dangling prisms each. They measure 17" to top of cranberry hurricane. The base is a wonderful clear glass dolphin. There is a problem with one of the cranberry hurricanes: it has a l 1/2" zig zag crack coming from a small chip on base. See Photo. When the chimney is resting in the base the chip and a lot of the crack is covered. Unfortunate. But to be honest I didn't notice this flaw when purchasing at an Estate Sale. They measure 10 inches or 25.5 cm high. And are 5 ½ inches or 14 cm in diameter at the base. The candlesticks feature a scalloped edge on the round footed base and the top with alternating X cuts. The standard has large scalloped cuts which accent the undulating form. There are a total of 10 prisms all measuring 7 ½ inches or 19 cm long. The lusters are both in good condition. Spring cleaning my dining room! Beautiful antique/ vintage amber candle holder with matching bobeche and teardrop prisms. I purchased this many. Many years ago at an estate sale. In wonderful condition with the exception of one missing teardrop prism there should be six total. There are a couple of very tiny flea bites on one bottom corner, just above the corner and bottom edge. A few on one corner of the top. These are all really felt rather than seen. The white spots in the photos are little pieces of lint and camera flash. No markings that I can find. Candle holder is 7 1/4 inches tall and 4 inches across the bottom. Very solid and heavy. Holder. Bobeche, and prisms together weigh 1 pound 4.5 ounces! Smoke and cat free home. I will package carefully for safe arrival to your home. Amazing pair of OLD crystal sconces that were here when I bought my condo 12 years ago. Pair is the operative word. Really one and a half. The previous owners had very high-end antiques and left these on the wall. 27" tall x 16" wide. These are hard to capture in photos. No doubt these were very upscale in their day. There are various broken areas. I am not even sure I put the"good" display one together correctly, but I think it is. These have been sitting in the closet for years so I finally thought why not give a fun project to some Ebayer! Perhaps these are best parted-out. But seems like a waste for them to just be in a box.
