Markings would have been on the underplate, but I would hazard a guess of England or Holland; used for keeping butter or cheese fresh. The ceramic and porcelain material is of high quality and the transferware pattern is traditional 'Blue Willow'. Hand wash only. Based upon other pieces I have, I think this dates between 1850-1899, but hard to pinpoint without the mark. Feel free to enlighten me. The item width is 5.25" for the insert and 4.25" for the cover. This unusual butter dish would make a great addition to any collection. Quite rare, hard to find.

Many years. Top casting has the number 83 and an"H" inside of a circle. The wooden paddles and the crank's wooden handle have no splitting that I can see. The churning mechanism works perfectly as you turn the handle. PLEASE NOTE: There is a scratch/gouge on the bottom of the jar. You can feel it on the outside with your fingernail but you cannot feel it on the inside of the jar so it is only an imperfection on the outside surface. It is more of a gouge than a crack. And I really believe it was probably there when it was made. I got it to show up very well in the picture of the bottom by using the flash on my camera. Please look the pictures over. This is an impressive butter churn which has the ideal amount of rust and loss of plating to validate it's age and make it the ideal accent for your Country Kitchen or Farm display/ collection. Presented for auction from the warranted china supplier to the Royal Court of Denmark. Royal Copenhagen, is this classic blue and white little dish. It features a view of Fredericksborg Slot(or Castle) done by famed Danish artist Kaj Lange who provided designs for Royal Copenhagen/Aluminia from 1919 to 1983. Fredicksborg Castle, formerly a royal retreat in Hillerod for Danish monarchs, is now the Museum of National History. This plaquette features an illustration of the castle viewed from across the castle lake. This is part of the 2010 series issued predominantly in the classic blue and white motif for which Danish faience is noted. This dish was manufactured by the sister factory of Royal Copenhagen: Aluminia. Presented for auction are eight antique Limoges butter pats in excellent condition. There are no problems. The pats are 3" in diameter at the rim. Schleiger describes the pattern(factory number 21312) as having small pink roses with dark green centers. Pink and green leaves and gold daubs at the scalloped rim. The blank is#26 with design#67. They were manufactured and decorated in France by"Haviland& Co. during the period 1890-1910. Theodore Haviland Limoges France - Covered Vegetable Dish
This is a very nice serving piece of Theodore Haviland Limoges France. There are no chips or cracks that I can see or feel and there does not appear to be very much wear if any. The dish is 11" from handle to handle and 5" from the bottom to the top of the lid. I do not know what pattern this is even though I have tried looking it up. I will ship the cheapest way possible. I have included pictures of most of the issues. There are chips and crackles and discoloration in all of them. To varying degrees. Most of the gold accents seem to still be present in the design. The pattern also seems fine, not much fade and not much for scratching or scuffing either. The small butter plate is 2 7/8" wide. The nut dishes are about 6 1/2" long.
