There all a little different in the flowers. 1 has some speckles or spots on it, it needs to be cleaned, otherwise all great with no chips cracks or damage. Here is a gorgeous unmarked BUTTER PAT mini plate. This pat boasts a decorative sprig of Roses/ flowers that make a horizontal line through the center of the pat. There is gold trim around the edge of the butter pat. No nicks or chips. But there is some very slight crazing and very slight wear on some of the gold on the rim. Probably no big deal, but I would rather mention this than not. The shape of the pat is round. However, I would say there is a light scallop design that make this pat unique. I believe this is a restaurant butter pat.Ceramic glazed white pat with gold lettering in Japanese on the edge. The gold trim is also worn away from around the outer edge. My Inv. I N 2B 3 Truly Antique Butter Pats(2 have wildflowers- 1 has rose) Color of porcelain is supposed to be white but has turned a little creme coloured due to age. All have decorative raised design in the porcelain around edges that is unpainted which is consistent with antique china. It is just a raised design in the porcelain mold. Beautiful butter pats have some damage which includes crazing to the clear glaze. 1 chip on the rose pat. Which the chip itself is antique as the exposed pottery has turned black inside the chip(you can see this in my pics) 1 of the wildflower pats has no chips but the other one has a chip and a pottery shard that stuck during firing. They have a ton of charm even though they aren't perfect. They are most likely around 100 years old. Has a few light age spots and a couple of tiny ash marks which came ... morefrom the primitive firing process used during that era. If you don't know what an ash mark is. It would look like a tiny speck of black dirt under the glaze, smaller than a speck of pepper. Marked with no manufacturer's mark at all. Maybe you recognize the pattern? Found at an estate sale. I think they were meant to be side dishes on a dinner service as there are six of them. Olives? Relish? The sides curve upwards slightly as if to hold in sauce or liquid. Each plate has a pattern of tiny blue and pink forget me not flowers. The rims are scalloped and trimmed in gold. There are no chips or cracks on any of the six. There are also no bottom marks. A mortar and pestle are tools used in the process of trituration. Which is the act of reducing substances to small particles by rubbing them in a mortar with a pestle. The 3 compotes stand 5 inches high and are 8 ½ inches across the top. The planter stands 4 ½ inches high and is 4 ¼ inches across the top. All 4 pieces have lots of crazing. Very antique in appearance and the 3 compotes have staining, 1 is not as bad as the other 2. There are no cracks or chips, all 4 pieces are in nice solid shape, and I have given them all a gentle cleaning. I believe these items were produced in the late 1800s. Lot of 8 Alfred Meakin Butter Pats Tintern blue pink gold scroll floral I believe this backstamp dates these butter pats to post 1930s. The blue pink floral pattern is listed on replacements.com as Tintern. Of course. These pieces are not available. If you would like a complete set of vintage Meakin butter pats. I do hope you will be browsing ebay this week. Backstamp: Royal Semi-Porcelain Alfred Meakin England. Tintern 1, with the Royal crown logo(please see close up photos) Design– lovely white background with scalloped edge and gold gilt decorative scroll edge– interior design pink and blue branching floral– kind of a lovely wild flower look instead of a very formal flower placement. Size: Diameter of 3 ¼ inches Height– approx 3/4ths of an inch from edge base to outer rim Condition: Very detailed condition follow– 5 in very good condition– ... moreno discoloration. Or crazing, etc, just probably some light loss of design due to age. 3 show some light discoloration or“tanning” 1 shows a small dark line on the interior rim. 1 shows some slight discoloration on the interior, and 1 shows some darker discoloration in the interior. The only butter pat that has what might be called a flea bit chip or a flake is the one butter pat that shows the most discoloration– tiny flea bit on the underside of the rim– cannot be seen from the front.
