1800's Antique White Ironstone Butter Dish 3pc ENGLISH Sydenham Baltic ? COVER
Up for bids is this wonderful Antique Ironstone butter dish with cover and original insert. This piece is in amazing condition. The white is very bright and has absolutely no stains or chips on the outside bottom or lid. The insert does have some staining but even that is not terrible. There is a extremely tight hairline on the liner. Other than that the only thing to mention is as made glaze skip and a few pottery pops. This happened at the factory and is not post damage but mentioned for accuracy. This piece is heavily embossed and has a great finial. I'm not sure what the finial is. Looks a little like corn but then maybe some sort of fruit. I do believe this is the Baltic shape. If you know feel free to email me. I have shown a photo of e few other pieces. Up for auction are two antique vintage Furnivals ironstone transfer designed butter pats recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. Both English made butter pats are in the"Quail" pattern. One is orange on white and the other is blue on white. Both are the same size and measure approximately 3" in diameter. The only condition issue to discuss are two small glaze drips on the rim of the orange pat. Please see photos#5-6 for details. They both appear to have the number 1913 on the reverse side. I don't know if this refers to the year made, the year they started the pattern or if it has no significance at all. Both are quite dirty and could benefit from a good cleaning. Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this superbe English faience butter pat. Made by Booths(Limited) who were manufacturers of earthenwares at Tunstall. England. They started in 1891 but the makersmark on this piece dates it to have been made between 1930-1948. It features a gold and blue rim with a wonderful fox hunt scene in the center with two men on horses and their pack of hounds crossing a stream. It is in excellent condition for its age with no chips or cracks! It does have overall crazing normal with age which is seen more on the back. It measures 3 inches in diameter. Antique English Majolica. Wonderful 19th century majolica butter pat dish with impressed“COPELAND” mark. The back is also marked with an impressed letter“A” over“78” This piece is in the form of a pansy blossom and measures 3” 7.7 cm) in diameter. Condition: This little dish is in excellent condition. With no chips, cracks or crazing. There is some slight scuffing on the high points of the inner surface most likely caused by stacking. On the outer edge of the piece there is a tiny firing flaw(or kiln mark) which has a scuffed finish and some dark cinder type specks caught in the clay. Up for your consideration are these four(4) old. IRONSTONE CHINA BUTTER PATS. Three are marked with JOHNSON BROS. ENGLAND, and the other has no mark. All four are thick, solid white in color and 3" in diameter. There are no chips. Breaks, cracks or fleabites present on any of them. But, all four have crazing present related to their"old age" Please examine the pictures closely. Email with questions and thank you for looking.

Hi again. no mark on these but a single gold line or letter on each backs NOTE. i just got this from a kind ebayer. i have 4 delicate little butter plates/ pats. possible that they are saucers for a childrens tea set. but more likely butter pats. if i had to guess. i am tinking from 1880 back to the civil war. they are heavy and very delicate. i wish i had taken better pictures one ... moreis darker than the others and it has the rim chip. fairly insignificant. but it wont heal itself either. lol fresh from an old estate sale recently. i remember when these were a lot of money. lol again; just less than 3 inches across. turned up near the rims as the older saucers used to do. like a shallow soup bowl. white rim. designs in the mold. then strong hand painted gold trim. anyway. There is no reserve tonight. i am going to list more butter pats from the same estate tonight, as well. Set of 5 butter pats in the"Maltese" pattern. Made by J.H.W. Sons. Hanley, England. Excellent condition with no chips or cracks, just some minor manufacturing blips. Four of the pats are marked"Maltese/J.H.W. Sons/Hanley/England/semi porcelain" The other pat is identical with no bottom marking. Pats are 3 1/2" in diameter. A sweet pattern! Lovely on your table, in your china cabinet or used to hold hairpins, earrings, whatever.

Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England in the late 1800s. Size is 3" diameter. Condition is good, with no chips or cracks. There is a very light stain spot near the center that isn't a big deal.
