Lovely Antique Set 8+1 Ironstone BUTTER PATS, Christmas Green Transferware
Description 8+1 BUTTER PATS Lovely set of eight matching ironstone porcelain butter pats. Each measuring 3-1/4" wide. Featuring a softly scalloped border with embossed pattern, design is a dainty trailing floral and leaf in green with a fine gold border. Unmarked, several are incised"H" uncertain of the pattern name, but guessing by Johnson Brothers or similar. I'm including an additional pat that is the same color, but does not quite match. Condition on all is great- no chips. Cracks, hairlines or damage to the eight other than usage marks, a bit of difference in the green shade(some are a tad lighter) and clear crazing to the glaze- the additional pat has just a faint amount of tanning in the bowl- does not detract. Antique 1886-1910 Butter Pat Greenwood China Ironstone - Restaurant Ware
Up for auction an antique 3” butter pat made by Greenwood China/Greenwood Pottery Company sometime from 1886 to 1910. This neat piece of history has a very crisp and detailed ring of Acanthus leaves which in strong light appear to be grey-green. This is the same pattern in the top picture of Barbara Conroy’s RC2 book. Page 164. This pat is in very good antique used condition without cracks. Chips, flakes or repairs. There is a under glaze inclusions on the rim. A couple of very minor utensil scratches, and color bleeds from the transfer on the rim and bottom. The bottom of the pat is stamped in what appears to be the same color as the transfer ink Greenwood China. P. This stamp was used from 1886 until 1910. And is the basis of my dating. 1800's Antique White Ironstone Butter Dish 3pc ENGLISH Sydenham Baltic ? COVER
Up for bids is this wonderful Antique Ironstone butter dish with cover and original insert. This piece is in amazing condition. The white is very bright and has absolutely no stains or chips on the outside bottom or lid. The insert does have some staining but even that is not terrible. There is a extremely tight hairline on the liner. Other than that the only thing to mention is as made glaze skip and a few pottery pops. This happened at the factory and is not post damage but mentioned for accuracy. This piece is heavily embossed and has a great finial. I'm not sure what the finial is. Looks a little like corn but then maybe some sort of fruit. I do believe this is the Baltic shape. If you know feel free to email me. I have shown a photo of e few other pieces. This is just so you can get a feel for the size. I have been collecting Ironstone ... morefor years and I guarantee this is an antique piece. It would date from mid 1850's-late 1800's. Up for auction are two antique vintage Furnivals ironstone transfer designed butter pats recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. Both English made butter pats are in the"Quail" pattern. One is orange on white and the other is blue on white. Both are the same size and measure approximately 3" in diameter. The only condition issue to discuss are two small glaze drips on the rim of the orange pat. Please see photos#5-6 for details. They both appear to have the number 1913 on the reverse side. Just found this neat OLD ironstone butter pat/dish by Edward Pearson. Cobridge. It dates somewhere between 1852-1873. I would say the latter part because the ironstone does have a raised. Embossed pattern and that did not start happening until later. In good condition. As shown in the pictures. There are no cracks or real discoloration. Some imperfections that are the way it was made.
